He did drop by every so often but never got to see Tatsuya. However, he soon realised the reason. Miya was about to pass away soon so most family members have to return back to the Yotsuba house.

Since it was in time for the winter holiday's, Rei informed both Yaiba and Harumi that he has to return to the Yotsuba family for some matters to be sorted.

Leaving a kunai back the house, Rei made sure he could return home quickly.

The trip was quick as Rei and Fey used Bounce Tracker to shoot across the air space.

Walking inside, Rei could see a few servants standing by but had blank faces.

'This house really feels dead.' Rei thought as he walked pass them without minding them. Sensing the location of Miya, Rei walked towards them with steady steps. He had a smile on his face as he finally found Tatsuya.

"Come in." Miya's weak voice rang out.

"So it was you, brother." She said looking back.

"The offer still stands. I can help bring you back to full health if you want." Rei said as sat down opposite her.

"I'm fine. After living for this long and doing the things I've done, I'm feeling tired." Miya replied with a small smile.

"Though I have to say brother, why do you have a blindfold?" She asked as he smiled.

"It's to stop some potential dangers that might go to my students." Rei said undoing his blindfold letting Miya see his eyes in full view.

"I see now. People would guess that these eyes would help them study the information plane and take it with any cost." She said shaking her head.

"I'm guessing this is my nephew? Wow you've really done a number on him haven't you." Rei said looking over at Tatsuya on the side. He also had a blank face as Rei studied him.

Tatsuya's eye brightened up as his could feel his emotions surface again. Looking at Rei with slight shock, he couldn't understand why this uncle of his helped him become human when the rest of the Yotsuba family treated him like a tool.

"Don't look at me like that hahaha. You're human before you're a tool. You're also my sister's son." Rei smiled as he patted his shoulder allowing the duo to have their moment together.

Placing his blindfold back on his face, Rei stepped out the room.

It didn't take him long to see Miyuki walking towards the room he just exited.

"Ah, Miyuki. You shouldn't enter that room just yet." Rei called out as Miyuki looked at him.

"What do you mean uncle?" Miyuki asked as she knew about Rei. He was dubbed a genius smarter than Taurus Silver/ her onii sama as his mastery over anything magic related was unmatched.

"I mean let those two have a moment of family time together. I've unlocked Tatsuya's emotions for a little while. I'll have to spend a little longer to correct his codes since I need to make sure there aren't any backlash." Rei smiled.

Miyuki widened her eyes as she felt joy.

"But why would uncle do such a thing? Wasn't onii sama a guardian?" Miyuki asked with some suspicion.

"Ay, like I said to Tatsuya. He is a human before a tool. And he is also my sister's son." Rei replied as Miyuki smiled. This uncle of hers was quite different compared to the rest of the clan.

"Anyways, let them have their moment for now. Why don't we chat for a bit?" Rei asked as Miyuki nodded.

"Gladly." She replied leading him to the balcony which had a tea set already prepared.

"Why don't you tell me a little about what's been happening to Tatsuya?" Rei asked as he sat down.

'This should give Tatsuya enough time to enjoy with his mother for now.' Rei thought.

-A few hours later-

"And after we received the news, Onii sama and I returned to the mansion." Miyuki finished after finishing her stories about her Onii sama and her up till now.

'I was foolish. I underestimated how much she loves her onii sama. Why does every, E.V.E.R.Y sentence contain onii sama?!!!' Rei cried out inside with regret.

"Ok first Miyuki, I don't mind you loving Tatsuya. If it really goes down to it, I can just adjust his genetic Eidos code so you guys can safely have a child. BUT! Please don't say onii sama with every sentence. Please!" Rei said as Miyuki blushed.

"I'll try." Miyuki replied.

"Good. Ha... They should have finished talking now." Rei said as he stood up.

Walking to the room once more with Miyuki and Fey, they saw Tatsuya and Miya talking with a myriad of emotions that made Miyuki's eyes well up with tears. This was the most amount of emotion Tatsuya had ever shown and Miyuki was grateful for it.

"I guess the talk went pretty well." Rei smiled as he sat down next to the duo.

"I don't know how I can repay you brother." Miya said with the most beautiful smile she could give.

"You don't have to." Rei shook his head. Even though he wasn't truly part of this family, helping them did give a sense of satisfaction inside. Naturally he wouldn't go around helping everyone for this feeling since he couldn't help everyone.

"Thank you, uncle." Tatsuya smiled as Rei waved his hand.

"Don't mention it. Right now, this is only temporary since I haven't fully coded everything yet. When you have time contact me and I'll help you sort things out." Rei said as Tatsuya nodded.

"Haa..." Miya sighed with a smile.

"I'm glad that in my last moments I can have a heartfelt talk with my son. I've truly wronged you." Miya confessed as she tilted her head back and closed her eyes.

"Don't be like that mother. I know why you did it and I don't blame you." Tatsuya replied placing his hand on hers.

"I trust that you'll look after them for me. You know that man didn't marry for love but power. I can guess that he would probably marry his past lover after I go." Miya said looking over at Rei.

"That you don't have to worry about." Rei replied as it was his intention to begin with. He would help the two out as much as he could.

Miya only smiled as she closed her eyes.

Rei had a small smile on his face as he was glad she could make up with her son in her last moments.

"Fey, tell the butler. December 4th, 2094. 20:43PM. Shiba Miya passed away." Rei called out towards Fey.

Fey nodded as she walked out.

Rei only looked at Miya as he sighed. This was a woman who wanted to help but helped in the wrong ways that caused more harm than good depending on the perspective.

"Tatsuya, Miyuki. Why don't you come live with me so the Yotsuba family can't get use you like a tool again?" Rei asked as both Tatsuya and Miyuki nodded. They wanted to get away from this family if they could and right now Rei seemed like the best choice.

The funeral could be said to be quite basic as it only involved those closes to her. When Rei sensed Miya's husband, he sent out his directed blood lust causing him to shiver with fear as he realised that it was Rei. There were rumours going around that God was jealous of Rei's success rendering him blind. But it seems like it didn't affect him at all as blind people would also use psions to manoeuvre around their surroundings.

"I'll be taking Tatsuya and Miyuki under my wing." Rei said to Maya who was also at the funeral.

"You know the elders want you to be the next clan head instead of me now that Miya had passed away right?" Maya said ignoring the obvious fact that what Rei said wasn't a question but rather just to informing her.

"Heh, when can they force me to do something I don't want?" Rei laughed coldly as he turned around.

The room seemed to have dropped a few degrees in temperature causing the surrounding people to shiver slightly.

Maya only shook her head as she got a maid to inform the elders about Rei's decision.

"Just tell the elders that he doesn't want to be the clan head. If they want to force him then they can go themselves, but challenging a man with the power of controlling the information plane is not advisable. Also try not to pull anything dumb behind him either because my brother isn't stupid." Maya said as the maid nodded.

Seeing the maid leave, Maya only walked up to the coffin before placing her hand on the side.

'I'm glad you got to talk it out before you left, sister.' She thought as Miya was still her sister in the end.
