Upon reaching home, the first person they saw was their son, Little Melon, running towards them as soon as they entered the mansion.
"Momma! Dada!"
Xia Meilin bent down and caught him in her arms when he pounced on her. She felt a sudden surge of happiness in her body when she finally felt her son in her arms. She felt like it has been years since she last saw him even though they were apart for weeks only.
"I missed you so much, Xiao Gua!" She nuzzled his nose which earned a giggle from him.
"Ehehe~ Mello missed you too, momma!" He turned to his father and smiled happily at him, "Mello missed dada too!"
Lu Yifeng's eyes softened when he saw his son's lively face. "Mm, I missed you too."
"Aguu!" A cute and small voice was heard nearby.
When they turned their heads, they saw Jing Yue carrying Little Spring in her arms and beside her was Ji Ruo and Xia Jiamu.
The adorable and lively Little Spring was reaching her hands to her parents as if she wanted to be carried by them.
Meanwhile, her quiet twin sister, Little Star was being behaved while she was being carried by her great grandfather Lu.
"Welcome back," said Lu Qiang with a small smile on his lips.
After giving Little Spring to Xia Meilin, she held Little Melon's hand and said, "You're just in time for dinner, come, Gua'er and I made the food for our dinner."
"Mello made momma's favorite food!"
Xia Meilin couldn't help but be touched with what he said. "Really? Aww, that's so sweet of you, Xiao Gua."
It brought warmth in her heart when she saw her family was complete. After having their problem solved, Xia Meilin felt her body become light as the burden she has felt back then was lifted.
The house was filled with a bright atmosphere and seeing that both of the Lu and Xia family were there, Xia Meilin couldn't help but miss her brother.
After having their dinner together, Xia Meilin and Lu Yifeng went to their room.
Xia Meilin went to the balcony to stare at the starry night after she changed into her pajamas.
Noticing that his wife was looking like she was in a deep thought, Lu Yifeng went and hugged her from behind and asked her, "What are you thinking about?"
She rested her back against his warm chest as she closed her eyes. "I was just wondering if... things will go well for us from now on."
"As long as we have each other, there won't be any problem that we can't solve." He kissed her temple from his position.
Xia Meilin turned and saw the look in his eyes, just by looking at them, she could see the love he has for her.
He has changed so much for her... She realized that in the past, she has never given herself a chance to know him better. If she did, will she be able to change what happened in their past?
She shook her head inwardly. She shouldn't be thinking of the past anymore, what's done is done. All she can do is look forward to the future with him.
"Lu Yifeng..." She unwrapped his arms around her before she turned her body and face him.
"Hm?"
"Let's have a divorce." She said with seriousness in her eyes.
"..."
Lu Yifeng never imagined that one day, the word he hated the most was heard from her. "Come again?"
"I want to have a divorce."
It made his heart shake when he saw Xia Meilin looking seriously at him.
Staring back at her with narrowed eyes, he asked, "Why?"
"Because I want to."
"..."
Because she wants to? That was her reason?
Lu Yifeng lowered his head and was quiet for a short while.
Xia Meilin was still staring at him, wondering what he'll say next. Will he erupt in anger? Will he go out of control?
"Fine."
She blinked a few times when she finally heard an answer from him, "Huh?"
This was not the answer she was expecting from him.
He held her hand and took the ring off from her finger.
Xia Meilin's eyes went wide with what he did, "Wwait!" She began panicking and because of it, she tried getting back the ring from him but Lu Yifeng was fast enough to keep it away from her.
"Lu Yifeng! Give me back my ring!" She shouted in frustration.
He turned away and walked back inside the room, "Let's file a divorce tomorrow."
"What? No! No! No!" She rushed to his side and stopped him by grabbing his arm. "I don't want a divorce!"
He looked at her with a blank look on his face. The coldness in his eyes sent shivers to run down her spine which made her words get stuck in the tip of her tongue. She even unconsciously let go of his arm.
When was the last time that she saw him look at her this way?
"Yifeng... do-don't you dare..." She couldn't stop herself from stuttering because of the intense pressure she felt coming from him.
Lu Yifeng turned and went out of their room but Xia Meilin refused to back down! Even if Lu Yifeng was being scary right now, she can't just back away from him! Their marriage is at stake!
The marriage certificates! Lu Yifeng can't have the marriage certificates!
Xia Meilin quickly went looking for them but she suddenly remembered that their marriage certificates were transferred to his study room.
Xia Meilin felt like a huge rock has fallen on her because of it. No... she can't just do nothing about it! She refused to be afraid of him!
When Xia Meilin went to his study, she saw the marriage certificates on Lu Yifeng's desk. Aside from that, she saw him holding a piece of paper.
He raised his head and gave her a cold look. "Come and sign this."
