The Commander's Pregnant Wife Chapter 44

Emily invited Nicolas on the cafe inside the hotel that was situated on the ground floor of the hotel . They were seated on one of the private room inside the cafe .

Once seated, they ordered their food first then, Nicolas started to ask her about what they need to talk about because as far as he remember this is the first time that he met her so he was quite confused why this woman would suddenly want to talk to her .

Emily didn't reply and went silent until their order arrived which is only for about ten minutes as the waiter arrived shortly after .

She first sipped on the coffee in front of her, put it back down again then she started to talk .

"I go straight to the point with you . I want you to change my personal bodyguard", Emily said with her serious tone as she fold her arms on her chest .

Nicolas was quite confused for this sudden request because as far as he remembers, Leila was doing fine on her job and also, she is one of their best female soldiers, so, what is the reason for this sudden request?

"Can I ask for your reason, Madam?", Nicolas asked politely .

"She's not suited for the job . I want her to be replaced", Emily said with her tone just like a queen ordering her knights .

"But, Madam, she's one of our best female soldier so, you could be at ease that she is an excellent soldier", Nicolas said trying to defend Leila .

Emily sighed before saying seriously, "Has she done any screening before she accepted the job?" .

Nicolas stayed silent because he was thinking that maybe Emily is talking about the remnants of trauma that left within her so, he is not confident enough to say yes .

"As I thought, well, for your information Col . Gen . Adrianno, your soldier is pregnant for I don't know how long but, I overheard her earlier talking with her female friend who is also a soldier", she started .

"They seemed to be confronting each other for this sudden job of her . So, I decided to seek you and request for her replacement as I don't want to be accounted for the two lives at stake if some mishap happens during this summit", Emily spoke slowly with her accent of Country E as she recounted what she overheard at the female comfort room earlier .

It was intentional that she followed them to the comfort room as she wants to hear what Lt . Madrigal would say to Leila . It was not that she is suspicious of Leila or something but, as she grew up from the royal family, it became her habit to make sure that the people around her can be trusted as she doesn't want to die without knowing who her enemies are .

Nicolas felt like he misheard something and maybe, he was having a delusion earlier .

"M-Madam, can you repeat what you said?", Nicolas asked politely thinking that maybe he was just daydreaming earlier .

Emily composed herself and said with a less serious tone .

"I said, she's pregnant and I want her to be replaced . But, don't worry, I also like her, in fact, I want her to be at the gala party at the third day of this summit . It's just that, I do not want a life of a little one to be at stake for saving me and so I request for a replacement . So, don't forget to tell her to come at the party to accompany me", Emily said not noticing the shocked Nicolas at the side .

Emily saw that Leila was about to enter the cafe as she already sent her message about her coming to this cafe instead .

"So, that would be all Col . Gen . Adrianno . I hope you would do as I say", Emily said while stand up from her seat then face Leila who were now walking towards her .

"I apologize Madam for I was away earlier", Leila while she bowed to Emily then she saluted to Nicolas as a greeting .

"No worries, Sgt . Cara . But, I think your Commander needs to tell you something . I'll just go back to my room . And, it's nice to meet you once again, Col . Gen . Adrianno", She said with a smile plastered on her face and give him a knowing smile . Then, she walks away .

Leila was reluctant to hear what Nicolas needs to tell to her .

"Have seat, Sgt . Cara", Nicolas said with his cold tone that suddenly makes Leila worried as she felt a bad premonition coming .
