The CEO's Lovely Wife Chapter 74 - 74 Family Dinner

"Please." Assistant Ke stepped forward and gestured on the remaining empty seats. Knowing his prideful master, especially now that it concerns his most beloved granddaughter, he would definitely not give face to them, at least for now. That's why, the matter concerning greeting the guests fell onto him. 

The man and woman who entered were both equally beautiful. The man was exuding a formidable air as if he was a monarch of the world, especially his cold dark eyes with a distant gaze. Then in his arms was a woman with fiery red hair and striking dark blue eyes identical to Lexus'. She was tall and slim, almost like a model. 

The woman then scanned the people inside the room and her eyes landed on Lexus who was also looking at her then to October. In a split second, her eyes flashed before anyone could discern what it was. After that, the couple moved to sit on the empty chairs for them to sit on.

October silently observed the couple in front of her. She could already tell who they were. Basing on that same blue eyes of the stunning woman before her was enough to know from where Lexus inherited his eyes. Aside from that, Lexus was almost the spitting image of his father. 

Assistant Yu and Assistant Ke stood behind them and just observed them in silence. 

After everyone was settled, Grandpa He coughed dryly before saying, "I have to apologize for the sudden invitation, Master Song and Madam Song." 

However much Grandpa He disliked the fact that his granddaughter was already legally married, he was feeling a little bit at ease knowing full well that the person she chose was a responsible man. He doesn't care if the man came from a good family or not, as long as the man can make her happy.

But if he got to choose, then he would want her to be wedded with a normal person so that the man could be easily crushed by him and be easily erased from the face of the earth if he dared to bully his granddaughter. Just that, the man she chose was of such background. 

Grandpa He gave Lexus a sideway glance before returning his attention back to the couple in front of him. 

"Master He, you are being too formal. You are our elder so please just call me Jane, then my husband, Wei." Jane humbly replied. Even though she has a somewhat cold eyes, it was clear and a shade brighter than Lexus'. She gave a response to He Tian who was an elder with a tone of respect and no hint of arrogance. 

"That's right, Master Su. Just call me Wei as what my wife had said." Song Wei said with a smile on his face. He looked like a gentle and kind man; however, his dark eyes was the opposite for it looked cunning and dangerous.

October silently observed them as they exchanged pleasantries. No matter how calm she may be on the outside, she was in fact panicking on the inside and her hands were just ice cold. The only person who knew this was Lexus who was currently holding her hand.

Lexus looked at October with a soft gaze and gave her a light squeeze, as if to let her know that he was there for her and assure her that everything will be fine.

October turned to look at Lexus and her heart slowly calmed down, much to her surprise. She was thankful to him and so squeezed his hand in return.

On the side, Jane saw their intimate actions and their gazes they used in the face of the person they were looking. What's more, her son who she knew to never had any interactions with women and could be said to have no interest with them to the point of making them worry was now head-over-heels to the woman next to him. Especially that soft gaze he had as he looked at her was enough for Madam Song to know how serious her son was. She had took it all in and as a mother, she was happy for her son but also dissatisfied because of how her son acted so brazenly and did not inform them about what he just did. 

After that, Song Wei looked at October and said, "This young lady here must be your granddaughter, Master He. And I see that my son is sitting next to her."

"Father, mother." Lexus greeted nonchalantly making Song Wei's lips to twitch.

This heartless, unfilial brat! Song Wei wanted to scold his son and beat him up but he can't do so because they are in the presence of other people. He held himself up and controlled his temper and forced a smile on his face.

"Hello, Master Song, Madam Song. I am called Lanna October Park." October greeted and slightly bowed her head at them.

"My. What a well-mannered lady you are. As expected of the He family's granddaughter." Song Wei chuckled as he gave October another look. Clearly, the young lady was stunningly beautiful yet he also noticed that her facial expression haven't changed one bit ever since they entered. He looked at her curiously but then, after a few seconds, he sensed a burning glare directed at him. He turned to look at his son and almost wanted to kick Lexus as punishment for glaring openly at him. 

Just because he looked at October for only more than a second, his son immediately got jealous and turned to look like a devil who wanted to devour him, his own father. He really wondered where he inherited such traits. 

Unfortunately, these traits were clearly from Father Song, but he doesn't know that. 

"Yes, it seems so." Grandpa He smiled but then gritted his teeth when he noticed Lexus' hand on October's. He wanted to push Lexus away from his granddaughter but was afraid that his granddaughter will hate him for it and that was the least thing he wanted to happen.

Grandpa He then raised his hand and Assistant Ke who was at the back saw this and immediately went to call for the staff. Seconds later,  the once empty table were now filled with food.

"I have already ordered food for us. I hope you don't mind." Grandpa He said. He was now calm as his dissatisfaction slowly faded and became a good host in this small yet formal dinner.

"We don't mind at all. We are even more than happy to avoid choosing dishes. It is more efficient this way." Jane said and brushed her hair to the side.

Grandpa He nodded his head and continued, "Then let's first eat before we discuss our main objective tonight." 

Hearing this, October could not help but look at her grandpa who was acting so prickly since they arrived; but now, he was more calm and had started to behave himself, thankfully. However, she didn't voice out her question and let her grandpa be. 

October turned her attention on the food before her and looked around the table to look for food that looks appetizing for her. However, before she could even choose, her plate was already full to the extent that it was turning into a mountain of various dishes. She was really dumbfounded at the sight of it.
