The CEO's Lovely Wife Chapter 41 - Being Interrogated Is Fun

As the two stared at each other, still lost in their own worlds, Gu Chen's veins already popped from envy and was not able to hold himself anymore as he loudly coughed dryly. Sure enough, this cough caught October's attention as she blinked her eyes. With this, her soft expression gradually went back to being stoic and cold with indifference and turned to where the sound came from. She saw a man in a blue business suit standing beside Assistant Yu. She knew this man all too well. He was the owner of this restaurant, Gu Chen. However, why is he here in the first place?

Unfortunately, October was too occupied with Lexus to the point of not being able to notice his arrival. If Gu Chen will know this, he will surely be so dumbfounded and his confidence will plummet because he believed that he is so handsome that ladies will stop and stare at him.

Lexus, having been interrupted, turned to send a glare filled with sharp daggers enough to slice a piece of flesh on Gu Chen. Instantly, the smug smile on Gu Chen's handsome face froze and cold sweat started to form on his body. What can he do? He was so green with envy as he looked at the couple in front of him so he doesn't have a choice but to bite the bullet.

"S-sister-in-law, I'm Gu Chen, Lexus' friend. Welcome to the family." Gu Chen introduced himself and flashed a dazzling smile enough to make girls squeal and faint. Unfortunately for him, October is not a normal girl and her eyes are only focused on Lexus and so, what he only received was an empty face and an indifferent nod, "I'm not your sister-in-law." At least not yet.

As soon as this thought crossed her mind, a faint blush crept on her cold face. What was she thinking? Not yet? What? October had a very complicated feeling with this. Lexus, on the contrary, was satisfied as he heard his friend call his woman sister-in-law. Thinking of this, he said in a very cold voice with a hind of a smile, "Good to know that you acknowledge her as your sister-in-law."

October flinched as the voice of Lexus were so near to her. She abruptly turned to Lexus and just realized that their bodies were so close and she was even holding him tightly. Flustered, she instantaneously pushed him away from her and a look of embarrassment flashed across her eyes.

"Uh." October realized that she was being hasty to the point of being rude. She looked at Lexus and sure enough, he looked a bit hurt and his jaw squared. Is he angry with her? "I'm sorry. It was just...I got startled by how close we were."

Gu Chen and Assistant Yu looked at the dumb couple in front of them with a grim look. Surely, they are not thinking of starting to act all chummy again in front of them, right? Right? In the end, they were left out again and was almost become a backdrop for the couple.

Lexus looked at the complicated and blushing face of October and soon calmed himself down and smirked as he slowly and steadily walked toward October and trapped her again in his cage-like arms. "What are you saying? We've been so intimate from the start." He said and lowered his head to whisper seductively on October's red ears, "We were even kissing in front of a lot of guests a while ago too so there's no need to be embarrassed now, my wife."

October felt herself so hot especially on her ear where Lexus whispered. His hot breath still lingering in her ear. "Wh"

Such a thing...she really did that? October's red face deepened. She wanted to find a hole to crawl into and hide there. How can she let herself do such a thing in front of so many people? What will happen to her now? Thinking of this, she bit her swollen red lips and thought of how she'll deal with it.

Seeing this, Lexus chuckled and lovingly patted her head. "Don't worry about it too much. Else, it'll affect our baby."

"Wait." October's eyes turned sharp as soon as she heard him say that. Before, she was not able to notice it in her dazed moment, but now that her head is clear, she realized that there really was something not quite right in this. Pushing Lexus away from her again but to no avail, she gave up on it and asked in a very grave and stern voice with squinting eyes. "How did you know that I am pregnant?"

Lexus' smile froze and looked at the woman in his arms with a very serious look. What is this feeling? He felt like he was being interrogated or something? However, it was not unpleasant at all. In fact, he quite liked it because seeing her serious face looked so stunningly beautiful to him.

"Answer me!" October demanded with a very dark look on her face as she saw Lexus turn his head to avoid her gaze. Seeing this made her eyebrow twitch in irritation. Grasping his tie tightly, she tugged it toward her making Lexus who was unprepared for her tug immediately leaned his body down to be on the same eye level with October. Squinting her eyes dangerously at him, she asked again through gritted teeth, "Lexus Song, how did you know that I am pregnant?"

On the side, Gu Chen looked at October with eyes full of adoration and respect almost twinkling with stars on it. While covering his mouth, he was looking at her as if almost bursting in tears. Mrs Song, you're so cool! Please teach your husband a good lesson please.

Assistant Yu looked at Gu Chen weirdly and thought, 'Such a weird guy as always.' Goosebumps trailed up his arm and he then took a couple of sidesteps away from Gu Chen. Looking back again on his masters, his eyes can't hide his amazement at how October was acting in front of Lexus. As he looked at it, and even at the first time they met, October was not in the slightest bit afraid or got intimidated by Lexus. And now, she was showing her cool and fiery side of her that no one knows. Even his devil incarnate of a master has been tamed really well by her.

Lexus stared hard at the scrutinizing gaze and serious face of October and felt like wanting to kiss her again. His eyes suddenly glinted and a mischievous idea popped into his mind. Lips curling up in a smile, he slowly said, "Kiss me and I'll tell you."

October's eyes widened for a moment but then went back to normal as she noticed that this man was teasing her. Pursing her lips, she was so sure that Lexus was thinking that she won't do it.

Lifting her hand up and rested on his soft cheek, she pinched hard on it making Lexus wince in pain. Unexpectedly, though, in the midst of his pain, he felt her soft petal-like lips landed on his. This surprise attack was so unexpected, making Lexus widen his eyes and a hint of a blush crept slowly on his pale face. Looking down on his woman, he saw her embarrassed self and heard her say, "Now tell me, did you do some background check on me?"

All of a sudden, Lexus laughed out loud for a moment then stopped to look at her dumbstruck face. "I didn't know that being interrogated like this by my feisty wife could be this fun."

Suddenly, Gu Chen and Assistant Yu thought of the same thing while looking at Lexus, "Masochist...?"
