The CEO's Lovely Wife Chapter 106 - 106 You're My Family; I'm Yours

October frowned as she eyed Lexus who was comfortably hugging her while looking indifferently at his mother. In the days that she was with Lexus, she have noticed that he was not only a really shameless man but also a very ruthless man who does not even bat his eye in talking viciously at his own mother. 

As if noticing his wife's gaze on him, he turned to her and his cold smile stiffened as soon as he saw her displeasure etched on her delicate face. Why was she looking at him like that? Did he do something wrong?

"Son, is that something you can just say so randomly and nonchalantly to your own mother? My dear, see this?" Mother Song pouted as she inched forward as if to make a point to October. She was like a child being bullied and was asking for someone's protection. "My daughter-in-law, your husband is bullying his pitiful mother. Hu~. What wrong did I do in raising him for him to be so vicious to his own mother? I am so pitiful. I am so hurt."

Lexus' face turned darker as he realized his mother's cunning eyes looking at him. The more he listened, the more angry he got at her mother's petty trick. It was like she was saying 'Hmph! See your mother's award-winning acting. Now that you already have a wife, I can ask her to bully you in return and you can't do anything about it!'

There was a dark smile threatening to escape from Mother Song's lips. Fortunately, she was able to stop herself from grinning a "victory smile" in front of her daughter-in-law. Ha! She did not realize that there will come a time that she can finally have someone to ask for help in regards to her son. 

"My daughter-in-law, please help this pitiful mother in disciplining this ungrateful son." Mother Song "sobbed" as she wiped her nonexistent tear off of her stunning face.

October looked hard at her mother-in-law who was crying with a really pitiful look and frowned. Pursing her pink lips into a thin line, she turned to the dark-faced man next to her. She does not know how to handle this situation. 

Not knowing how to handle this, she reached out her hand first and placed it on top of Lexus' hand that was resting on top of his crossed legs. With a blank look on her face but with a flash of seriousness passing through her eyes for a moment, she said in a firm voice, "Lex, mother is right. You can't just say something so rude like that to her especially since she had taken the trouble in travelling in such a very short notice in visiting us here today. Also, she brought with her the wedding gowns that her friend have designed for our wedding so I am really grateful to her."

Lexus squared his jaw and turned to his ever so serious wife who had even placed her small hand on top of his. He looked down and, with a swift movement, he interlocked their fingers and found that she really had small and soft hands, so soft like they were marshmallows. He looked at his troublesome mother then back to his wife. He really does not want to but he has to for the sake of the woman in his embrace. "Okay...I'll try."

Mother Song snickered at her son but then stopped when she noticed that her daughter-in-law turned to her.

"Also, mother, you can always ask me for anything. If I can help in any way, be it with Lexus or not, just tell me and I'll somehow do something about it."

Mother Song sweetly smiled at her daughter-in-law and nodded satisfyingly, "Yes, good."

"One more thing, mother. Are you an actress before? Your acting was really good that I almost got fooled too. It was really amazing. If you aren't in the entertainment industry before, I think you should try it. You have the beauty and talent with it." October continued earnestly as she stated these words bluntly. Truly, her mother-in-law must be an actress before, right? 

Lexus snorted as he gave his mother a look. So it turned out that his wife also have such a vicious mouth. This also another discovery he found about his wife and the more he knows about her, the more he falls for her. 'See that, mom? My wife also has such a ruthless tongue.'

The smile on Mother Song's face froze and his whole ody stiffened. Somehow, the blunt words from October stabbed her into a very sore spot. She can already imagining the smug look on her son's face while looking at her right at this moment.

 "N-no, I don't have much interest in acting." Mother Song said with a complicated look on her face and laughed dryly. "My, I'm quite flattered by that. Thank you, dear."

An awkward silence descended down this spacious linving room.

Butler Zhukong noticed this unending silence and turned to the maid standing by the door. Seeing that she nodded, he sighed in relief and bowed his head slightly and said, "Dinner is already served, madam." 

Mother Song coughed lightly as if to hide her uneasiness and said, "Mm. Thank you, Uncle Zhukong. Well then, let's all eat dinner in the dining hall."

It was called as dining hall because it was just as is for calling it 'dining room' does not best describes it. This was because the area was so large and the ceiling was high. Not only that, the table was long with a lot of chairs placed around it. Even if October had already dined here, she still could not get used to its extravagance.

October nodded, "Yes."

Mother Song was the first one to exit the living room followed by the butlers and maids. 

"Let's go." October said as she softly tugged at Lexus. "Let us not make mother wait for us."

"Fine." Lexus sighed and stood up before helping October in getting up. While holding hands, they exited the living and followed the enthusiastic Mother Song into the dining hall.

While in the hallway on the way to the dining hall, October looked at the elegant back of her mother-in-law. Noticing this, Lexus nudged her gently and asked, "What are you thinking?"

"Just..." October started and tilted her head up to look at Lexus straight in the eyes, "Just thinking how close you are with your family. I can really see it between your interactions."

Yes, for someone like her who was abandoned and even though she has a loving grandfather, still, she can feel...emptiness and loneliness. She had always wanted to spend more time with her family; however, maybe because it was just her fate, she had never experienced it.

"What are you saying all of a sudden?" Lexus raised an eyebrow at this and stopped walking, also making October stopped in her steps. He saw that there was a hint of jealousy and more of sadness flashing across October's enchanting eyes. His heart ached. He knew where she was coming from because he looked it up himself, about his wife's past. From that ,he can already draw what she truly meant by that statement. He then pulled her in his hard chest and wrapped his arms around her. His one hand on her back and the other at the back of her head, his voice so deep and sweet that tingled October's ears. However, what really made her almost tear up was what Lexus said next.

"You are already part of this family. You are my family, and I am yours. Also, did you forget? In this family, we are already beginning to build our own starting with our child you are carrying." Lexus tenderly said with the sweetest and softest smile on his handsome face. After that, he kissed her forehead and hugged her tightly.
