"...an immortal..." Ro Qingxi

The four maids began to argue as to what best describes the woman in a white flowing gown standing in front of them who they called as young madam. 

October looked at them silently as they argued about it till their faces turned red as they wheeze. Somehow, she felt like their was warmth slowly creeping into her heart. She remained calm but soon found it funny and cute at the same time. Suddenly, a ghost of a smile so small that was almost unnoticeable graced her prestine face. It was so sudden that all the four of them who were arguing stopped talking and stared foolishly at their young madam with wide eyes and mouths hanging open. 

October raised an eyebrow at them but her smile was still there. She was oblivious to the effect that she had given them. Slowly, her unconscious smile vanished as time ticked by, but they were still staring at her in a daze. She then felt uneasy at their intense gaze and looked down to see her gown if there was something amiss. After that, she turned to the full-length mirror beside her and looked at herself but there was nothing unusual in the gown she was wearing. So why are they looking at her as if they had just seen a ghost?

"Do I look that weird in this gown? If so, I'll change to another gown immediately." October said in a calm tone but there was a little frown showing on her face. 

The four maids looked at their young madam in a daze and felt that her whole being that was engulfed in ice were now slowly melting and gave them this cool, soothing and calming winter breeze. 

"...ice goddess." Ro Fei uttered in her dazed state as she clasped both her hands together and looked at October with infatuation.  I think I'm falling in love...

The three maids then nodded their heads in full agreement. There was nothing best to describe their young madam but the "ice goddess" was closest to it.

Thankfully, the four have finally regained their bearing and so instantly closed their mouths and a wide smile broke out of their lips and their eyes were sparkling almost as if spewing stars out of them.

"Young madam, let's put some jewelries on you that suits your gown." Rong Lu enthusiastically said and went to some jewelries before putting on October. 

"These are the matching heels for this gown, young madam." Ro Fei said with a carefree smile on her face. She lifted up an opened box to show the heels to October. 

Seeing the pair of heels, October frowned slightly yet it didn't diminish her cool beauty before coolly said, "I do not want wear those high heels."

"What? Why?" Ro Fei asked in bewilderment as she tilted her head to the side. Why won't their young madam not want to wear these high-heeled shoes? These are only 5-inch heels and are definitely a match to the gown. Is it possible that their young madam does not know how to walk on these heels? No, that is impossible. 

Ro Qingxi who listened to this turned to October who then subconsciously put a hand on her belly for a quick second. Ahh!

"Yes, it would be safe to avoid such things." Ro Qingxi nodded her head in understanding and added, "I will go out for a bit and inform the Madam about this matter that we did not consider. Please excuse me."

"Wait, since I've already worn this gown, I will go out with you to let mother see the gown I am currently wearing." October said in a voice full of indifference. It was the truth, she was not f this heels and so followed Ro Qingxi out of the room to stand in front of Mother Song.

"Oh my, it looks good on you. It looks perfect. That tube top that have pearls artistically placed all over the bodice creates an illusion of a shell and is hugging your upper body so perfectly; it even pushed your chest up making it look all the more enticing to look. And that skirt that was flowing from your willowy waist down to the soles of your feet and follows your every movement so gracefully that would make us think that you were floating in a sea of clouds." Mother Song excitedly chattered nonstop as she described the gown and sighed dreamily. "My dear, you look like a goddess that came down to this mortal world. How did that demon of a son of mine met such a beautiful and pure being like you? However, I really don't have the right to say this because I am so happy to be your mother-in-law."

Silence descended on the spacious living room as they heard their madam say these things and was even going so far as to criticize her own son in him "demon." 

'However, madam, if your son is a demon, then aren't you also calling yourself a demon?...!' The butlers and maids silently screamed in their heads as they looked at their madam with a complicated look on their faces. 

At this momentary silence, Ro Qingxi cleared her throat which immediately made all the heads in the room to turn to her.

"Madam, the heels that were here for the young madam to choose from does not suit certain circ.u.mstances at the moment." Ro Qingxi bowed her head respectfully as she said this clearly.

"What circ.u.mstances?" Mother Song asked while raising an eyebrow.

"The young madam is already pregnant so she does not want to wear such high heels and requested of wearing flats instead. This was to avoid unnecesary accidents to happen."

Mother Song became silent as she pondered over this and gave October a thoughtful gaze. On the other hand, October let Mother Song look at her and did not feel uncomfortable under her gaze. She remained standing with her back straight and expressionless face.

After a few moments, Mother Song sighed and nodded slowly before opening her mouth to say, "That's true, I have totally forgotten about that. I'm sorry, dear. My, I feel like I'm really getting old. We'll do that then. Anyway, the gown is long enough to cover your shoes. Ro Fei, go to fetch your young madam some new and luxurious flat shoes from one of our affiliated stores in the city. Find something that are not only matching with the gowns but are also comfortable to wear. With this, it is safer for my daughter-in-law to walk. Will this arrangement okay with you, dear?"

Having to hear this question right after her meticulous arrangement from her mother-in-law, October looked at her with a calm and penetrating gaze and answered respectfully, "Yes, I'll follow mother's arrangement." 

After that was settled, October went back to the seperate room to change into another set of gown. Moments later, she got out slowly and showed her wedding gown on her mother-in-law. 

This went on for almost two hours and the person who was doing all of the fittings was extremely exhausted. For October, her energy were almost completely depleted at just this but the people who were there in helping her choose her gown were still lively and energetic, especially her mother-in-law.

Seeing the worn out face of October, Mother Song chuckled lightly and said, "I'm really so happy that you were able to fit all of the dresses I've brought with me here and all of it looked great on you. So, my dear daughter-in-law, have you decided on the wedding gown you wanted to wear?"
