The Atlantean Compensator Chapter 85

Being back to his previous life, has made Herald think less about the future concerning his Atlantean duty! Now, he has to think as well about his duty as the partner of Muruem, and as a son of two aging parents .

These three months he passed were surely of great value, but they didn't add anything to the bank account he has . Which can affect a lot of things in his personal life .

After all, money is what makes this world going! No matter who made it that way . . .

Muruem hasn't yet asked any hard questions, just how was it, what type of things you learnt, did some female there attracted or tried to hit on you, things of this nature . . .

Herald got back working on his PHD, and simultaneously started writing a new book .

A book that is inspired from these three months he passed on the island, for sure he'll change and modify a lot of things to give it his touch, and to not make it any obvious that those things happened to him personally .

But after all, all his books and works are inspired mostly from his personal journey!

He thought it can be a good way of making money if the book got any big recognition, he already launched his first book! But it seems like it's sales are really low so far .

Herald hasn't yet visited his parents nor met his friends, when Muruem went out to work, he decided to give them all a visit .

"Two days since i arrived and i've just noticed that i did not go out yet . "

Herald looks at the bright sun as he shuts the door .

"Even the sun here is different . . . "

He could not wait to try out his powers again as well, so he activated them as soon as he got near the people on the street .

" . . . Unbelievable!" Herald's eyes sharpenned as he kept looking .

'Look at all these . . . It is true that everyone has his demons!

They're pretty different than how Ether looks . He looks pure, all white!

But they look ugly and dark . . .

So terrifying to look at, but they won't notice me anyways . "

Herald keeps walking among people and analyzing the things he sees, as for now looking at the evil jinnies has made him forget about using his ability to see in the near future .

" . . Where is my personal demon though? Or did the training purified me to the point where they can't come and cast their spells? I guess so . . .

Wait, i forgot to use that . "

He finally recalls and activates the screen .

"Nice . . . I can look at all of them without feeling confused or tired!"

Herald keeps looking, until suddenly he stopped, and looked towards a young man who looks like he's on a hurry .

Herald changes his direction and follows him .

" . . . Just now! I saw that man dying!! Just like Leon back then . . . .

That building right there, the construction workers will fuck up something and it will kill him!!"

Herald suddenly remembers!!!!

"WAIT!!! I DID NOT SEE MYSELF FOLLOWING HIM!!

What does this mean then??"

Herald stops and thinks .

"It can only mean two things . . .

One, I can finally change the outcome of the things i see in the screen .

Two, what i saw in the screen isn't even true! But that makes no sense even more . . .

SHIT!!!! He's getting closer . . .

I don't have much time and i can't wait until the last moment . "

Herald decided to act regardless . He cannot let what happened before happen while he knows .

Herald starts running towards the man, trying to prevent him from reaching his death spot .

"Those three months, will all be for nothing if I can't save a man's life for once . . .

As the Chosen one should be able to!!"

He didn't notice how fast he was running until he reached him in no time!

"Hey!! Hey Sir wait . "

The man looked behind and stopped for a moment .

" . . . Yes?"

Herald . "Sorry sir, you should not go from this road!"

The man looks confused . "What do you mean??

I am in a hurry sir sorry, but I have to go!"

The man got back walking, no! He even started running!!

Herald thought quickly . "I just have to make him a bit late, so that it won't fall on him!"

He again runs towards the dead man, with his supreme speed he catched him easily and grabbed him from the shoulder .

"Sir! I said you cannot go from there . Something terrible will happen to you .

I know it's hard to believe me, but you should trust me on this . "

The man looked again, a moment of silence took place before he bursts out of laughter .

"Hhahahahahahahhahahahaa!!! So you're a begger?

I didn't know, you don't look like one . . .

Here, take this and leave!"

*He offers him some money papers*

Herald still grabbed the man, and looked him straight to the eye which got him uncomfortable!

"Get away from me man!! What's wrong with you?

My wife is about to give birth and you're here making me miss it!!"

Herald finally lets the man's shoulder, and let him leave without saying any words .

He just stood in his place and watched the scene unfold, this particular street wasn't crowded, about 5 people were there at the time .

Right away, somebody screamed so loud .

"WAAAIIITTTT!!! NOOO!!"

It was a construction worker in the building telling his coworkers to stop because there was a mistake, a big heavy amount of bricks were thrown away from the 3rd floor .

It hit directly and caused the 5 people to scream from fear! Luckily, they were all pretty far away .

The man Herald saved, stood still without moving an inch . . .

Fear squeezed his body, and froze his knees, but an extreme joy filled his heart . . . The joy of survival!

Slowly, he looked back . . . and saw Herald standing there calmly, their eyes kept staring at each other for about five seconds .

Before Herald got back towards where he had to go .

' . . . I . . . . I SHOULD THANK HIM!!!

Why can i not move????

Yes . . .

I know . . . . . '

These are the words the lucky man was mumbling in his mind . . .

He could not get back to thank Herald!

"Hey! Are you okey??" a construction worker comes to check on him

"Yeah yeah . . . I am fine . I am going to have a child just moments from now Hhahaha . . . " He replied, in extreme happiness .
