She knew it was her daughter's birthday but instead of feeling happiness inside her, she ended up being sad, after all, it was also Xia Sinian's death anniversary.

The room was filled with heavy atmosphere and Lu Xian Yu felt suffocated by it. "I will prepare a hangover soup for you."

Lu Xian Yu placed the bowl filled with the hangover soup in front of her, "After this, you can get some rest."

Li Bingbing stared at the soup for a while before she drank it.

Every time that Lu Xian Yu was at home, he would always be the one who would cook for them.

He returned back to being her personal chef. It's not like she didn't like his cooking, in fact, every time he cooked it was heavenly, he was better than Xia Sinian but... there was something similar in their cooking that she couldn't point it out.

As she continued drinking, her tears suddenly rolled down her cheeks.

She placed the bowl down so that she could wipe her tears instead.

"Shu.... shut up." She lightly glared at him. She stood up, "I'm going back now."

She turned away and was about to leave but all of a sudden, she was hugged from behind by Lu Xian Yu.

"What are you doing?" She tried squirming in his hug so that he would let go but he stayed still. "Let me go, Lu Xian Yu!"

Li Bingbing's lips quivered, her eyes becoming misty. She trembled at his words, "Wha... what are you saying?"

"You know what I mean." He held her shoulders and made her turn to him. "All these times, you've been holding it in, right?"

He gently placed his rough hand on her cheek, "I told you before, right? It's okay to vent it all out to me. I'll be here, Bibi."

She clenched her fists tightly as her dam broke, she ended up bursting in tears.

She hit his chest once then it was followed by another, she continued hitting his chest as she cried. It was always like that, right? She always ended up breaking down in front of Lu Xian Yu and she felt so frustrated by it.

Lu Xian Yu remained still, accepting everything from her. He didn't know what kind of pain she was experiencing but at that moment, he wanted to be her support in times such as that.

Soon after, Li Bingbing stopped hitting him, as if her arms lost their strength. She leaned and rested her forehead on his chest instead as she sobbed, "I... I miss him so much..."

He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to him without saying anything.

She closed her eyes as she allowed herself to be engulfed in his warmth. She was tired and her eyes were salty and heavy. She didn't need words of comfort from anyone, she didn't want to hear any of it.

They stood quietly there, not moving from their positions.

It took a while before Li Bingbing was able to calm down and when Lu Xian Yu saw that, he held her shoulder and helped her get to her room.

"Good night..." She whispered with her hoarse voice.

He pulled the blanket until her shoulders, "Good night."

"Happy Birthday, Jiejie!" Qinqing greeted his big sister the moment she woke up.

Mengmeng's face brightened up at that, "Thank you, Qinqing!" She got up and hugged her beloved brother.

Lu Xian Yu entered the room, he smiled upon seeing his daughter awake."Ah, look who's awake?"

"Daddy, you're back!" Mengmeng grinned happily at him.

"I can't miss your birthday, you know." He chuckled, he sat at the edge of the bed and patted her head.

"Will papa be coming today?" It was her birthday and she believed that her family would be complete that day.

Lu Xian Yu's smile became stiff, "Well... your papa is in heaven you know."

"Papa can come down and celebrate, you know." She pouted cutely. "It's my birthday..."

Qinqing nodded, "I miss papa too..."

He sighed heavily, Lu Xian Yu didn't want to ruin the day for the kids. He knew that they would one day understand things once they grow old but at that moment, their innocence was making it hard for them to explain.

"Although your papa cannot come, he has sent you a gift, he never forgets your birthday, right?"

The two children went out of the bed and ran to the dining room.
