Taking on the Magical World 103 Chapter 101: Test Subjec

Now, I started to wonder if I did some mistake some where, or if I accidentally skipped something. But I swear, I double checked, then triple checked everything before I moved on...

So, what the hell is wrong? All of a sudden, I got the response I was looking for. And it was breathtaking and stupefying all at the same time.

The cauldron instantly exploded in a puff of black smoke and dark clouds, which reached all the way up to the ceiling of the laboratory room. I subconsciously took a step back from roiling black cauldron and held the mask closer to my mouth and nose.

I do not want to breathe in this mysterious and strange concoction. Also, after I am done with this experiment, I think I will go and see the school's nurse, Mrs. Pomfrey, to check up on me. I am now, seriously doubting my intelligence, like seriously, why the fuck would I do this utterly stupid shit? Sometimes, I, myself, could be a total Fred.

Anyways, wow! Huh? Isn't this response a little bit too much? But then again, I did jinx it. And if there was one rule, you should always keep in mind at all times, in the magical world. Then it is, do not fucking jinx anything. The response that you always get, turns out to be... you know, magical.

The theatrics kept on going for a while, a little bit too long for my taste. But what could say except, let the thing do its magic!

After a while, the cauldron started to calm down, and the potion began to settle down and cool. I stepped forward, slowly and steadily, not wanting at all for the cauldron to go up in smokes and shadows, in my face.

Seeing that it has truly settled down, I peered down into the cauldron and stared at the potion. The potion was still the same black concoction of death and decay, but the characteristic of it has been toned up to like 9000!

With a wide grin on my face, I thought, it is now time to test this baby out!

First though, I poured the potion into flasks, precious and powerful flasks that is. These flasks have some pretty good defensive and endurance runes inscribed into them. If I poured this potion into an ordinary old flask, then the poor little flask might end up all but destroyed, and the potion would have been ruined.

I ended up with a total of 4 portions of the potion. It is a good and fair amount. I did add a much greater portion of ingredients than was actually needed when making the potion. It has been my opinion, that the giant feather, even though it is so minuscule and diminutive, in comparison to the whole, of the mysterious rank XXXXXX magical creature. I thought that this colossal feather, holds much more magic than is ever possible to fit the proportions the recipe set.

So, I did the only thing a rational and sane person would do. I added a lot, and I mean a whole lot more ingredients than was set by the recipe. Mhhh, it is not like the creator of the potion, would have ever thought or knew that his recipe was being augmented by the remains of a rank XXXXXX magical creature. Well anyways, the large explosion could be explained, thanks to all of the extra ingredients I added.

It seems like too much magic gathered together, creates an explosion. I shook my head to myself in amusement at the conclusion I have come to. What is it with mankind and their explosions, it like the end goal of all creation is to explode.

I took the four flasks and walked over to one of the benches. On top of the benches was a number of cages, and inside it, was a few handfuls of little critters. The little critters looked up at me with big adorable eyes, as I walked up to them. They started to make some whimpering noises, as I stood over them, with one of the flasks in my left hand.

Ahh, poor little things, they are too smart for their own good, I thought, as I made calming noises to them to soothe them. They must know what is about to come next.

Although I do not like testing out my potions on these little critters, still, somebody must see and test out if the potion is working as it should be. Since I cannot use a human, or god forbid, myself as a test subject, then, sadly, it falls upon this small little creatures.

Anyways, I am not the only person who does this. If you go to an apothecary, they have a bunch of these small little critters out in the back.

I opened the cage very slightly, so that these little beasts do not have any funny ideas of escaping. Then I reached in with my hand, as I did most of them were fast enough to escape to the edge of the cage, except for a white little bunny.

He must have been one of the newer ones that I just bought from the shop recently. The sad little bugger did not know what was up at all, with that moment of hesitation from the rabbit, I reached in and grabbed it.

The thing twisted around in my arm, but I held steadfast and firm since this was not the first time I had an unwilling test subject. I took the rabbit and brought it over to another bench with empty cages. This was a cage that was closed and contained from all sides with glass, unlike the other cages, where I just have it in metal.

I put it inside and closed it shut. Now it is time to see if this potion works as it should.
