Chapter 9: Short shorts

The flood on the bridge has already gone down, and there is no more reason for Huo Jinchen to stay. After he has bade goodbye to Lu Xingzhi greeted him, they left.

Watching them disappear in the distance, Lu Xingzhi finally heaved a sigh of relief.

A man like Huo Jinchen in her house, no matter how amiable he shows off, was completely out of place in her home.

The pressure on her is too great.

However, before their departure, Huo Jinchen has mentioned that he had already arranged everything for her studies in the capital.

Lu Xingzhi realized that going back on her words is out of the question.

In the afternoon, Lu Xingzhi went directly to the best musical instrument store in L City. A few years ago, her piano was sold here.

Huo Jichen has already handled her admission procedures and the money left on her is just enough to buy the piano back.

After paying the money and returning to her home, Lu Xingzhi meticulously wiped the piano clean.

Sitting in front of the piano, she tried to fight back tears.

She forced to restrain her emotions and didn't shed even a teardrop.

The piano was first sold by her, but now it's back in her hands.

It was in front of the piano that her dad taught her to play the first tune.

Wrapping the piano with a white cloth, Lu Xingzhi sniffed.

She's really poor now, and this is all she has left.

Five days flew by in the blink of an eye. Lu Xingzhi didn't prepare much but just cleaned up a little bit.

When Huo Jinchen appeared before Lu Xingzhi's eyes once more, she couldn't but blink twice in amazement.

Unlike the last time, he wears a casual dark blue T-shirt and beige trousers with a pair of dark sunglasses covering his eyes. It obviously was a simple get up, but he carried it off with extravagance.

“Mr. Huo, you actually need not have come over.” Lu Xingzhi tried to open up a topic as she pulled her suitcase outside the door and locked the door behind her.

“This is just to show my sincerity.” Huo Jinchen took off his sunglasses and walked towards her. Lu Xingzhi was also dressed casually today. Her top is a loose T-shirt paired with denim shorts, revealing a pair of slending long legs.

Huo Jinchen's eyes fell on her legs. Her shorts were seemingly too short, but rather dazzling.

“You don't have any other luggage?” He picked up her suitcase and handed it to Wei Yang then naturally took hold of her hand.

“En.” Lu Xingzhi nodded blankly as her eyes were captured by Huo Jinchen's hand covering hers.

“What's wrong?” Feeling no movement from Lu Xingzhi, Huo Jinchen turned his head to look at her.

“I am not a child, I can go by myself.” Lu Xingzhi looked at him and replied seriously.

Her solemn look delighted Huo Jinchen into bending his lips gently up, but he did not let her go, “Let's go!”

In fact, Huo Jinchen was somewhat surprised at himself. He had never been very close to any girls, but holding Lu Xingzhi's hand was merely an instinct.

Lu Xingzhi's brows knitted. She pursed her lips tightly, but dared not say anything. She just let him lead the way till they arrived in front of the car.

Huo Jinchen has always given her some sense of pressure and she was even more afraid to relax when they sat side by side.

“Scared of me?”

Suddenly, a pleasant voice echoed in the car and Lu Xingzhi realized that Huo Jinchen was talking to her.

“No, I'm not.” Lu Xingzhi wasn't scared at all so she responded instinctively.

She just doesn't know hot to get along with a man like him.
