Surviving In My Novel 51 Reapers 5

Simon looked at Nidal with an expression of friendliness and comfort. The man really knew what Simon desired. It wasn't anything angsty of edgy that spelled that Simon is bad news, but Nidal knew Simon wanted something that actually reflected him. He wanted something that could be his own calling card.

"Anyhow, what inspired you to go find your piece of headwear? Not many young ones like you even know about the symbolism of headwear. It's rather intriguing for an old devil like me."

"By any chance, does it have to do with your grey horns? I mean, for someone that doesn't look like they have gone through the Adulthood Ceremony, you still do possess something that can only be attained after it. Well, your situation seems complicated, I won't judge."

"So, complicated, Intense, and in the present? Does that sum up what you want from your headwear? I am also going to assume that you desire it in mask format, something tells me that you enjoy being someone that you aren't." Nidal warmly conversed.

"Yes, I feel like that would be for the best. Please proceed."

Simon left the shop in a pristine set of intricately crafted clothing. From head to toe, Simon could be seen as the one with the most style in the crowd. As someone that didn't really enjoy the spotlight to much in his last life, he felt rather warm inside this time around.

'I probably only wear this when I feel like making trouble. Which I feel like doing soon... altogether, I didn't take that long, in fact, I am still hours too early for me to be able to do anything. Maybe I should blend I'm with those high society snobs and make some sh** happen...'

'Eh, what the f**k do I even do? Should I just rest at a cafe nearby? I believe I did write in a nice and homely cafe which overlooks the Reaper mansion entrance, but I didn't put as much detail as I did for The Smiling Needle.'

'I only wrote about the backstory of the few employees and the long history of the cafe. But nothing like I did for The Smiling Needle.'

'The Smiling Needle is basically that one place where I could always imagine as a home away from home, especially for me, a once terminally ill person. It was built on dreams, but now is reality. I cannot say nearly as much about that one random cafe. I just gave it the generic comfy and homely cafe setting.'

Simon quickly blinked through the crowds as he navigated his way towards what he assumed to be the cafe. Upon stopping in front of the door, Simon noticed the name plaque on the top of the door.

"Eternal Flame." Simon quietly read.

'I wonder how long I will have to wait until that idiot brother of mine appears. That f***ing t**t is almost never punctual... I wish he will be on time today.'

'Now that I look at it, it seems this cafe is much better than I thought...' Simon said as he looked through the clear glass windows.

'Looks more like and exclusive coffee club than a public cafe... me likey.'

Simon slowly moved towards the red wooden doors and opened them to reveal a private and cosy atmosphere. A room that smelled of freshly roasted coffee, adorned with a plethora of wooden furniture and premium cushions; who would not feel comfort in witnessing it?

"Why, hello there customer." A young female devil greeted Simon.

"Oh, don't worry about that mask of yours, Eternal Flame's policy is to allow comfort of the individual." The waitress continued as Simon gestured to his mask.

"That's quite a well made piece of headwear... it seems you must be an official of sorts, are you here for an inspection?" The waitress warmly asked.

Simon slowly shook his head as he answered. "I am just a customer, may I have a table for one? I am feeling rather tired today." Simon calmly requested.

"Of course, please take any seat that pleases you!" The waitress cheerfully announced.

"I will take the one by the windows."

"Very well... guessing from your headwear... you like something intense?" The waitress continued.

"How about our Crimson Valley Brew? We can guarantee your specific satisfaction."

"Yes, thank you."

In all honesty, Simon found the waitress to be rather cute. She had a slim figure, Pure crimson skin, Green eyes, and a charming smile. Her beauty could be viewed as intoxicating for some. In Simon's opinion, she seemed friendly, but that is probably because of customer service. Along with all of this, she didn't look over 16 years of age and already seemed like she could become a 4th rank visionary, or perhaps she already was.

"Here is your coffee sir." The waitress said as she gently put a cup of coffee in front of Simon and gave a brief smile.

"Thank you, miss." Simon warmly replied.

"By any chance, do you know anything about a certain Hecate Reaper?" Simon asked out of nowhere.

"Hmmm... the first daughter of the Diva? Why do you ask? It couldn't possibly because this mister fancies her, could it?" The waitress giggled and blushed.

Dressed in his amazing attire, Simon gave off the appearance of a man of prestige, even without a higher tier set of horns. But this waitress actually giggled.

"I am not interested in her." Simon plainly responded as he inserted a straw into the coffee and took a sip through the mask.

"Eh? O well, I guess it's too much to ask for. Greetings sir, I am Hecate Reaper." The girl calmly told Simon.

"Oh? And why would a first daughter be working at a cafe? Stop trying to fool me." Simon laughed.

'Now that I think about it, she does seem to possess extremely a high resemblance to Hecate... I will continue on with laughing at her nevertheless.'

"Pffft... Who are you kidding? A Diva's daughter in a cafe as a waitress? Have the skies fallen on us?" Simon laughed.

"I am serious, I am Hecate Reaper."

"And I am Karlus Crypts! The Diva of this place! Of course not, a noble devil would never do such a disgraceful thing as to serve as a waitress in a cafe." Simon ridiculed.

"Miss, you seem like a kind and gentle woman, I'd advise you not to get mixed up with that girl. If you ever need anything, I am a heart away." Simon said in a flirtatious voice.

'It's good to know that I haven't lost my sense of humour.'
