Survival to Godhood 65 Shadow vs. Lucy 2

The strike pierced Lucy's wind barrier and almost connected. Lucy erected a wall of earth at the last moment to protect her body.

The earth wall crumbled under shadow's attack. She jumped back and used Shadow Walk to plan her next attack. After all, Shadow was more proficient at sneak attacks than fighting head to head.

Lucy couldn't keep up with this beastman's speed. This fight is the first time fighting one, and she felt overwhelmed by their natural strength. Even though she was a paragon, her body was nearly the same as a normal human.

Lucy had enough with all this running around. She placed her palm to the ground and waited for Shadow to strike.

Shadow saw the human girl planning something. Especially her just sitting there with so many openings, but she was not scared of some early Core Builder.

Shadow decided to use a new technique she created right before the beastman war erupted.

"Shadow Clone Walk."

Shadow split into four Shadows and took off running. They encircled Lucy and came at her from all four directions.

Lucy just kneeled there very calmly. She had been focusing her mana for just this moment.

"Lunar Strike!"

"Lilith's Garden!" Vines and roots of all kinds burst from the ground entrapping all the Shadows. Three of them were just mana conjured illusion, and when the roots tried to grab them, they disappeared.

The real Shadow was entrapped and couldn't get out. Lucy smiled and held two flames in both hands.

Shadow released all the yin mana she had stored. The yin mana destroyed the vines. Yang was life and yin was death.

Seeing the vines disintegrating Lucy launched her flames, but Shadow used Shadow Walk in time to get away. Lucy was now in trouble. She just used a lot of her mana to pin down Shadow with Lilith's Garden.

Shadow started to pick up speed, and Lucy's eyes couldn't keep up anymore. Lucy knew she wouldn't be able to lure in Shadow again. She had to go to her.

Shadow started to channel in yin mana, but there wasn't a lot to absorb during the daytime. She decided to use her physical strength to fight the human.

Shadow switched up gears and ran straight at Lucy. Seeing the beastmen charge straight at her, she channeled mana into the spear and stabbed it into the ground.

The ground beneath Shadow turned into mud, which slowed her down a bit.

Lucy smiled and seeing the beastman not retreat. She activated her mana to freeze the mud.

Shadow leaped into the air towards Lucy. Lucy activated Queen's Hell Fire. Black and Golden flames charged towards Shadow. She gave up dodging.

"Lunar Strike!"

Shadow cut through the flames, but her fur and clothes got burnt. Seeing the beastman pop of the fire, Lucy stuck out her spear to block the strike. With no mana left, the artifact spear flew away from contact. The attack hit Lucy's shoulder causing her to tumble backward.

Shadow released her mana, so she just hit her with just physical strength. Shadow didn't want to kill the lass.

"Oh, ho. The beastman won." Paulus was thoroughly impressed with the fight. If he had the chance, he wanted to challenge this Shadow himself.

Sly signaled for his guards and the mermanian healer they had to go check out the human girl. Everyone else headed to the field to talk.

Aarav walked forward to Shadow and said, "we are sorry for any comments made. We are just looking for our friend, Leo. Do you happen to know where he is?"

Shadow was exhausted but stood there proud. She was about to answer but seeing her tired Anna responded for her.

"A war broke out in the beastmen territory. Leo saved mine and Shadow's life before being injured by a Construct Evolution beastman. He left, and we don't know his whereabouts."

Lucy who had healed up a bit overheard what Anna said, and her heart dropped. A Construct Evolution warrior is one of the strongest beings on the planet and Leo went against him.

"What kind of injuries and where was this battle?" Aarav asked. He didn't know his friend went to this battle all by himself.

Anna frowned. She didn't know exactly how he was hurt. Shadow never gave those details.

Shadow's feeling of the impressive victory vanished. Thinking back to win she watched as Leo was blinded and arms chopped off, she started to cry a bit.

"Leo was blinded and arms cut off." Everyone and even Anna included mouth dropped.

"Nooooo..." Lucy yelled. She started crying while the mermanian healed her. Why didn't he come to get her first? She would have gladly gone with him.

After exiting the palace, Aarav and She had to escape the battlefield between the draconians and mermanians. After getting back to the ship, it took forever for them to allow Aarav and her to return to look for him.

Hiro wanted to accompany them here, but he had to stay with the ship, Hope. He and Reiner's relationship had become strenuous since he failed to protect his teammates. Paulus came up with the idea to accompany them back here and collect intel on Lankani City.

When they arrived at Lankani City, they were surprised to be welcomed so well. Lucy and Aarav were given badges to indicate they completed the palace. Aarav was even sworn in as Leo's replacement.

When they arrived at Leo's house, Lucy found the note he left.

"If you are reading this, you know I didn't return to the Renegades in time. I planned on it, but I made a promise to a friend. I'm going to a war zone, and I don't know if I will return. Lucy, please don't worry. I hope to see you and everyone else real soon. -Leo"

After reading the note, Lucy cried. Aarav asked the council members if anyone had information on where Leo went, please give it to him. Sly ended up talking to Aarav when Ab-dab told him about the arrival of Shadow and the rest.

Before explaining everything to Lucy, the chain of events unfolded. Aarav looked at the beastman and knew she was the friend Leo referred too.

"Well, then who wants to go to the war zone?" Aarav asked.

"I owe Leo my life. I will show you guys the location. Anna, can you take care of everything until I return?" Shadow said.

"Of course. Be safe Shadow."

Lucy didn't want to travel with this beastmen who just defeated her, but she would do anything to see Leo again. Aarav looked at Paulus, and he just nodded. Aarav picked up his communication device and said "Ab-dab it looks like we are leaving to find Leo. Take care of the people staying at Leo's place."

"No problem. Take care and hope you bring back Leo safely."

Lucy, Shadow, Aarav, and Paulus headed to the Renegade's aircraft and took off the beastmen territory.
