Survival to Godhood 20 Battle in the Lion's Den

Growl. [Eat, eldest son.] Growl. [Glad you are awake.] Growl. [Youngest, eat too.]

Looking down at the raw carcass in front of him, he debating on not eating. He looked up at what he could only describe as a lion smiling at him. He decided against faking it and pulled out his Gladius' pocket knife to cut him a piece off. He ate the bit and then nodded at his new mother.

"So good, I can't eat another bite." Instantly the mother knew her son was trying to get out of it and pushed it closer to him with her paw. "I am so full," he said rubbing his belly convincingly.

Anyone would die laughing watching this human argue with a beast. Then the cat growled deeply. [Eat now.]

Leo sighed and gave up fighting it. He started to eat a few pieces, then looked at his new little brother having a hard time tearing the meat off. So, he began to cut the meat for him. Seeing this, the mother was happy and laid down in the entrance to this room to protect them.

Looking over Leo noticed her wounds were healing nicely.

After the meal, Leo's little brother crawled into his lap to take a nap. Leo was thinking to himself, "they are never going to let me leave."

Almost reading his master's mind, "Sir, I do not believe your new beast family is going to let you leave."

"Shut up Sprite."

After Sprite stopped talking, Leo saw the mother lion stand up, and her fur spiked up. Then he heard a rattling sound. Slowly and steadily the noise got louder and louder.

"Sisssss.."

"Sir, detecting a peak Core Building life form. I believe its a snake beast."

Staring the mother mountain lion down was a massive rattlesnake. This one was not the standard size. After absorbing mana and eating other beasts, its volume had increased to that of the common green anaconda. The 6.5-meter long snake was coiling up to attack.

"Sir, your mother is about to be killed. The snake is gathering potent poisonous mana in its fangs. Any bite from it will kill all of you."

Leo had to think fast if he was going to save them. The snake attacked the mother cat. "Solar Flare!" The bright light spread out through the cave blinding the snake and the lioness. Leo then used Earth Control to push a rock to knock the lion out of the way.

"Crunch!" The giant snake bit into the ground of the cave.

"Double Rock Shot." Picking up two large rocks, Leo sandwiched them into each of the snake's eyes. This burst both of the snake's eyes causing blood and puss to come forth.

Blinded and chipped teeth the snake started to retreat from the lion's den. The mother lion's vision came back in time for her to chase it out of the cave. The blinded reptile bruised itself from slamming into the walls of the den. When it finally got out, a Lioness latched onto its back.

The mom was not going to let the beast come into her den and kill her children. Using the law of metal, the lioness transformed her claws into a move similar to Steel Reaper. The nails dug into the scaley hide of the snake. The reptile beast tried to throw her off to no avail.

Seeing the two of them leave the cave Leo and the little cub followed them outside. Once he got outward, Leo saw the battle was still going on.

Using the law of poison, the rattlesnake started firing jets of venom at the lion. The cat was agile enough to dodge but realized she was eventually surrounded by poison.

Leo, seeing this, used Earth Control and launched three boulders for the lion to leap on to engage the snake. Mama lion wasted no time and used two of the stones to leap up and claw the snake in the face.

The Core Building snake beast was in poor state. It has claw wounds on its face and back. Even using mana the snake couldn't stop them from bleeding. Lastly, his eyes were permanently damaged beyond repair.

The lion jumped to finish the beast off until its tail smacked the cat away. The lion slammed into the cliffside to the right of the cave entrance. Leo jumped into action and started launching stones at the snake.

Using a hit and run tactic, Leo kept moving and shooting. The blinded reptile couldn't keep up. After a dozen or so rocks smashed into its face, the snake collapsed.

"Rock Shot!" Lift the most massive rock Leo could withstand. He launched it onto the snake, pinning the beast down.

The lioness got up and walked over to the oozing head of the snake. The rattlesnake sensed the cat coming over. He succumbed to his fate and in the next moment had his head ripped off.

The lion proudly held the snake's skull in her mouth. The lion tore into the head and pulled out a shiny blue core.

"Sprite what is that?"

"Sir, that is the monster's mana gland. In the building core phase, it becomes a crystal of mana. Many monsters eat each other's cores to get stronger."

Leo started to think if he could use a monsters gland as his own. "Sprite, could we transfer....."

"Sir, an Avatar Establishment lifeform is here!"

Before Leo could even respond, a beastman the Avatar level floated down and stared at him and the lioness. "Hello human. That was a beautiful fight."

Leo activated Earth Control and was about to use Shatter Fist to blind him when he was stopped. "Oh ho stay right there." He activated the law of space and locked Leo in place. "Now, that you are resigned. I am Unit 33. I call myself the Collector. I hold arena battles every year to let beastmen prisoners redeem themselves and also for entertainment."

"This year I was going to use the two snake beast here, but alas they were killed."

"There was another snake here. I didn't see it," Leo thought to himself.

"So I'm going to take you, human, and the lion to make up for it." The Avatar beastman activated his ability and him, Leo, and the lion floated up into the sky.

The little lion cub watched all this happen and started meowing. He was sad. This random stranger just took his mother and brother away.

"Leeeeeooooo!" Shadow just ran up to see, Leo being flown into the sky. Goblin and Mouse followed her up the hill, looking pretty roughed up. They just stared at the human, they were looking for, was just taken.

Collector looked down at the beastmen arriving. He thought about taking them too since they defeated the other snake. Then disregarded that idea because he had enough beastmen participate in his battle royal.

Leo also looked down at Shadow. He couldn't say anything, due to the locked down by space. Once they got high enough, a flying aircraft was waiting for them. He couldn't see Shadow or his little brother anymore. Throwing them into the back of the craft, Collector took off north towards the bear variant colony.
