Survival to Godhood 146 Ruins of Geb

He finally reached the peak stage of Core Building. His lion core was massive, and his body surpassed a human's long time ago. Without fighting with mana, he could fight the Sphinx fist evening bare-fisted.

Leo climbed out of the ship's engine room covered in smuck. When Keysol saw him, he chuckled.

"Weren't we suppose to be working on this engine together?"

"Yes, but grunt work more suited to you, Mr. No-wings," Keysol replied.

"Get over here so I can remove yours so you'll do some work," Leo said, walking quickly towards Keysol.

"Woah, Woah, Woah hold on a second there. Oh, that's right, the Pharaoh asked my help with something." Keysol shot Leo a smirk and bolted out of the hanger build for the spaceship.

"That man is something else. He was so uptight when he first got here. Now he is just a bum."

Keysol did change a lot after moving to the City of Ra. Being in the military all his life, Keysol was all business type of person. After living in a world where nothing was a threat to him, he started to loosen up and become lackadaisical. Leo didn't mind after hearing his story and much preferred the new Keysol.

A jet-black Sphinx walked over after working on the hull. Dark Razor wasn't like Void Slayer who was only interested in cultivation and wasn't like Green Tooth who was involved in training humans. So, he asked Leo to help him in fixing up the ship. Dark Razort even came up with the idea of plastering the inner hull with crystals so they could cultivate on the space-craft.

"Leo, I just finished coating most of the ship in what crystals we had left. We are going to need more to complete the ship."

Leo frowned. He learned a while back that these crystals were hard to come by on Duat. "Thank you for all the help, Dark."

"Anything to get me out of that chamber."

Leo and Dark Razor headed back to the Pharaoh's place to discuss their next course of action. They needed more crystals to finish. Moving through the city, several people stopped and bowed to the man and beast duo walking through the city.

Dark Razor gave everyone a look of disgust, but everyone was used to it and still gave him their respect. Dark Razor respected Leo and Keysol, but outside of that he even considered humans beneath him. When he started helping Leo, he almost killed the scientist from Thoth and chased them out of the hanger. Since then if Leo were headed over to work, they would leave prior not to run into Dark Razor.

Eventually, everyone gathered in the Pharaoh's chamber. Ramses got news from his spies.

"Leo, we have reported that two men matching your description were seen near the Ruins of Geb," Ramses announced to Leo, Keysol, and the beasts.

"What are the Ruins of Geb?" asked Keysol.

"We used to have more than twelve cities on Duat, but a calamity happened years ago, causing us to lose several cities in a year."

"You said two men, didn't you?" Leo looked puzzled. He only remembered one mermanian being thrown into a portal. Leo turned around and looked at Void Slayer.

Almost knowing what he wanted to know, Void Slayer said, "Everyone on death's door and the bodies are transferred here. We Sphinx beasts only need mana to survive and have no use for lifeless bodies. Our mother treats this planet as her waste site."

Ramses twitched at the thought of his planet being a beings trash can, but could a mortal human argue against an immortal demon. So he just suppressed these thoughts not to upset the Sphinx beasts present.

"So two, or even more cultivators could be alive here on this planet," Leo said to everyone. "We need to send a team to the ruins and find traces of these people. They might have the knowledge we need to get the mana engine finished."

Keysol and Dark Razor nodded. Void Slayer didn't care either way he just wanted to cultivate in peace. Green Tooth surprised everyone and spoke up.

"I wish to go. I also want to bring my new disciples. They need experience outside of guarding the Pharaoh to tread the path of cultivation."

"Alright, I will go to as I know a bit of ancient Egyptian." Leo interjected and then said, "I will take Green Tooth and two royal guards. The rest of the guards need to stay here to protect Ramses." He then turned to Dark Razor and Keysol. "Ramses said there are several other cities. Can you two go check them out together?"

Keysol didn't dare decide for Dark Razor. He looked at the beast and Dark Razor nodded its head. "Looks like we can do that," Keysol replied.

"Good. Ramses, what is the closest ruined city for them?" inquired Leo.

"I think its south of here, called Ruins of Heka. Please be careful, though. Any spy I sent there died," Ramses warned.

"We can handle ourselves, Ramses," Keysol responded with a smile.

With the two teams set, they took off in opposite directions that very next day. Leo, Green Tooth, Papyrus, and Djed flew northeast towards the Ruins of Geb. Djed had only made it to 3rd stage of Body Tempering, but he excelled in absorbing fire mana which made Green Tooth happy.

Coming up on the Ruins of Geb, they could tell it was from the early era and reminded Leo of the pyramids on Earth. They landed outside of the city to explore it on foot.

"If you encounter danger, remember to use as little of mana as possible." Leo reminded them. Especially the two Body Tempering warriors as they didn't have a large mana reserve yet.

Green Tooth got a weird feeling from the ruins. Something that could only be explained as instincts were telling him to run away now. This feeling was something he only ever felt from his mother.

Before Green Tooth could explain this feeling, several projectiles came flying at them from the ruins. "Everyone, watch out!" yelled Leo.
