Xie Yuansheng was feeling very refreshed over the next few days and so he was cheerful all the time in the house. Seeing that he was in a better mood, Feng Xinying would go to the office for a short while and return as soon as possible. She was happy that even though his progress was slow, he was not stressed and that was the most important thing for her right now, at least until the psychiatrist returned.

It happened one day when she was in the office and he was as usual in the kitchen preparing lunch. As Lu Boyun was also there, he picked up his mobile and started playing a game after instructing Lu Boyun to keep checking the meat in the microwave.

He had long left the previous game he used to play after Kate's incident. While playing, he noticed a small child running towards the kitchen making a lot of noise and a young maid running after it. Xie Yuansheng looked at the child who came and hugged his legs and tried to hide in between them. Being a small girl, she could easily hide between his legs and the table in front of him. "I will not go!" the child shouted from somewhere between his legs.

Surprised, Xie Yuansheng looked up at the maid running after the child and then looked at the little girl between his legs. He kept his mobile on the table and stroked the head that could be seen. His hand could cover the entire head of the baby. He smiled and said, "What happened?"

When the maid came and saw the scene, she froze to the spot. "Young Master, I am so sorry. She is a very naughty girl to have run here. She is my niece and her parents have gone outside the city leaving her to my care. I have brought her with me to work because I didn't know where to leave." The maid was now shaking that she would be thrown out of the job for messing with the quiet atmosphere of the house. Lu Boyun was giving her murderous glances already. "This won't happen again Young Master, please spare me," She said and hurried to catch the girl.

The small girl again shrieked and laughed. "I will not go!"

Laughing softly, Xie Yuansheng picked her up in his lap and handed her to the maid. He said, "It's okay."

The maid took the baby out immediately as she spanked her on her butt cheeks and the baby giggled all the way back. Xie Yuansheng could hear her giggle. He laughed again and went back to his work.

That afternoon Feng Xinying returned slightly late. She found that her food was laid on the table and Lu Boyun was standing there waiting for her. She asked, "Where is Xie Yuansheng? Has he eaten?"

Lu Boyun started serving her and said, "Young Master is sleeping in his room. He has already eaten."

Feng Xinying nodded and ate her food. She went to her bedroom and went off to sleep, as she was tired. She was feeling very lethargic these days and would easily get tired. So whenever she found time for herself, she would go and rest.

When she woke up in the evening, she found that Xie Yuansheng was still sleeping, which was slightly not right. So she went to check upon him. When she opened his room, she found it shrouded in darkness. She switched on the lights and saw that he was awake. She walked to him and sat down next to him. Stroking his head she asked, "Shengu, what are you thinking?"

He turned his body to look at her and then wrapped his arms around her. He rested his face on her lap and said in a low voice, "Feng Xinying, my dreams are pretty vivid now. I saw a woman trying to poison Yini's mother and father."

Feng Xinying was shocked. He was getting flashes of memories but why only bad memories. What about the good ones? Why was he seeing Yini, and why not her? She continued to stroke his hair to soothe him and said, "Maybe those are not the true memories. They could be your fears because you want to meet Yini so much."

"Hmm…" he replied but didn't move out of her lap.

They sat in silence for some time when Feng Xinying said, "Let's walk in the garden Shengu. I had ordered some plum blossoms to grow in the garden. You would love to see them as they are currently blooming in large numbers."

"Hmm…" he replied. Slowly, he got up from the bed and together they went out after Feng Xinying made him wear a thick jacket. The winter had become harsher.

They walked around a little until they reached the plum blossoms and stood under the tree. Feng Xinying plucked a few and arranged them on his head. He smiled at her antics. She clicked a picture with his head adorned with flowers. He looked so pretty that had she been a man, she would have still loved him. They went back inside when the stars started appearing on the night sky.

Although everything went fine that day, over the next few days, Xie Yuansheng's memories troubled him a lot. Even though Feng Xinying tried to calm him in some or the other way, he got the tendency to get depressed. The little child and Yini were haunting his dreams. He hated to sleep and so Feng Xinying had to make him sleep in her room always. He had stopped working in the kitchen and would keep sitting or wandering the garden. His face looked sad always. Feng Xinying took him out for a drive but nothing was working.

She got very nervous and waited for the psychiatrist. His depression was saddening her. She was hoping that he would come out of his amnesia and here he was getting depressed. What was it that she could do?

As for Xie Yuansheng, he wanted to go back to the house, which Feng Xinying said that she was buying it. He could feel an untold attachment to it. He wanted to spend his life there. One day when she was feeding him soup, he said, "Feng Xinying, I want to go and live in the house you had seen at Shinashi Residencies."

Feng Xinying choked. She said, "What about me Shengu?"

He looked at her and asked, "What about you, Xinying?"

"Don't you love me?" she asked.

"I love you a lot," he whispered tightening his embrace around her.

"Then please stay with me darling," she said. She wanted him to discard the thought in its nascent stage of going and living in that house. Suddenly she became too anxious about his health.

Xie Yuansheng buried his face in her lap again. That day, his depression became a shade deeper, the manifestations of which were seen the next day.

Next day in the morning Feng Xinying woke up hearing a commotion in the house that coming from downstairs. She got out of her bed and when she went downstairs, she was aghast to see the scene in front of her.
