Stronghold In The Apocalypse Chapter 184

The army convoy had already left the city and directly headed to the place where they camped before, leaving Leo behind surrounded by a swarm of zombies and his only helper are those Attack Helicopters flying around him .

"You guys go first, I need to take care of something" Leo ordered through the intercom .

"But sir, w-" 

"Go! I'll catch up later!"

Lexi who is riding one of the helicopters wanted to refuse his order, but was immediately cut off by Leo .

"Yes, sir!" Lexi reluctantly said, before ordering the rest of the helicopters to leave the airspace of the city .

Lexi was really reluctant on following the order, as they would certainly be labeled as cowards if the others found out about this incident . Even the soldiers riding on the helicopters had reluctant look on their faces, after all, these soldiers are the first ones who joined the army and one of the first batches that got rescued by Leo and his men .

And most of all, they are members of First Hunting Squad, so they really didn't know why their Boss ordered them to retreat, when he could have just told them to help him exterminate the swarm of zombies around him .

But in the end, they didn't utter even a single word as their eyes never left the silhouette of Leo fending off the zombies attacking him at all sides .

If another high rank military officer had given them this order instead, then they would have refused him and continued fighting alongside him . Their only consolation is knowing that their wouldn't die even being under siege of million of zombies, after all, they all knew that this is currently not the limits of his abilities .

After all, they had already seen him taking out things from the void, or beings suddenly appearing from out of nowhere, which in their eyes in just too absurd . Mutating, they could understand as its still in the line of science, but beings appearing from out of nowhere like a ghost? Items that should still not exist in their current era? Now, that is something within the line of ridiculousness, which in turn made Leo more enigmatic in the eyes of his people .

"I wonder why Boss is telling us to retreat?"

"Yeah, and I still haven't tasted an action yet since we arrived here"

"Could he be doing something again that only needed him alone to accomplish? After all, this is not the first time that he went out all alone without any escorts"

"Haist~ I really want to follow Boss again in one of his undertakings again" one of the soldiers puff a smoke, clearly showing how excited he is with how wide his smile is .

"Shut it!" Lexi angrily glared at them, as she also felt glum from being left alone by their Boss .

The soldiers immediately turned meek when Lexi angrily snapped at them, there are only a few people who could make these battle hardened survivors like these .

And if there were a rankings among the women in the Stronghold, then Lexi would certainly be among the Top Ten .

On top would certainly be Leo's mother, Rachel, and then next would Amanda and Michelle, then there's Luna and Aria, then Michelle's mother, Doctor Angie, then followed by Lexi and the most surprising of all, would be the eighth year old Lea, why? Because her lightning magic could even one shot the zombie known as [The Big One] .

So yeah, no one would dare to anger that little kid, even Leo is a bit wary of her, and not that he's afraid of her, but because the kid still has a bit of a hard time controlling her powers, especially when she's super angry .

"Now that they're gone" Leo muttered as he immediately jumped high and landed on the third floor of a nearby building, before rushing out towards the opposite direction of the zombies swarm .

But numerous mutated zombies still followed behind him, as they chased after him from building to building .

But because the zombies doesn't have that much of an intelligence, they didn't even realized that Leo are dropping bombs along the way, and while he is running away from them, Leo also didn't forget to loot any leftover resources he bumps into and would immediately throw them inside his [Inventory] .

Thirty building later, there is already a huge horde of zombies following behind Leo as he circled around the city, dropping multiple bombs at every building and roads he passed through .

Then Leo pulled out a detonator and grinned coldly, "Motherf*ckers, die!" he yelled as he pressed the detonator .

*Kaboom!* *Kaboom!* *Kaboom!* *Kaboom!* *Kaboom!*

Multiple explosions simultaneously occurred at every direction of the city, the buildings were like dominos collapsing as they buried all of the zombies within the blast radius, the bombs were so powerful that they at least left a crater as wide as twenty meters!

"Nice!" Leo gripped his fist in his happiness, as the notifications still hadn't stopped ringing beside his ear .

"Now, time to scram out of here!" Leo said as he scampered out of there, as he headed towards where they army convoy had stopped .

*Kaboom!* *Kaboom!* *Kaboom!* *Kaboom!* *Kaboom!*

"Holy shit!" the soldiers started yelling in shock, as the ground beneath started shaking a bit .

"The city is exploding!" some of the survivors started yelling in shock, while the soldiers look towards the city with mouths agape .

"Holy crap, the boss is so bad ass!" one of the soldiers yelled while pumping his fist in the air .

"The boss is killing it out there!"

"Damn, I wonder how many bombs did he use to produce something as powerful as that!?"

"Silence! Start preparing camp! The boss would be here soon!" Lexi yelled angrily that she even kicked someone's butt for lazing around .

"Dammit!" the soldier who got kicked on his butt cursed, as he resumed cooking while the rescued women started helping the soldiers, who are assigned in making dinner .

Once Leo reached the outskirts of the city, he immediately deactivated his armor, returning to its wristband form .

Then Leo's eyes suddenly flashed, as he jumped and rolled forward .

*Boom!*

A small explosion occurred at the place where he was standing earlier, but it wasn't just a regular explosion because there is something within the cover of the dust cloud and when the dust settled, a figure of a Darkseeker revealed itself, while glaring angrily at Leo .

"You finally decided to reveal yourself, eh?" Leo slowly stood up and dusted himself off, while smiling coldly at the [Darkseeker] in front of him .

"Do you know that you're really one arrogant human?" the Darkseeker smiled, and his smile looked vicious enough that someone who has a weak will would probably shitting his pants by now .

Leo grinned coldly at his remark, "I may be arrogant, but I have the ability to back up my words, and you? You only know how to hide behind your cannon fodder of a horde"

The Darkseeker snorted, "Did you really think you could resist me by just relying on that armor of yours? Pitiful, you're like those humans that I've faced before, just because they have a little bit of ability, they already think that they're the most powerful of all"

"Hahaha!"

Hearing him, Leo started laughing loudly, like he just heard the most stupid thing of all .

"Laugh all you want, you're gonna be a dead man soon" the Darkseeker shook his head, as he misunderstood Leo's laughter as a laughter of despair when facing being more powerful than himself .

Leo grinned from ear to ear, and said in a chilling tone, "You might be twenty levels higher than me, and you're already this arrogant, but is that really it? How you gauge someone? Laughable and utter bullshit!"

"I'll show you what a truly overpowered individual is!"

"Ahhh~!"

Leo roared towards the towering sky, as he started transforming into his [Beast Form]!

*Roar!*

After his transformation, Leo took a deep breath and exhaled, that a naked eye could even see his breath that looks like a smoke, that's only possible when its really cold, like in winter .

"Well then, shall we?" 

Leo grinned maliciously at the stupefied [Darkseeker] .

"Arrogant bastard!" the Darkseeker immediately snapped out of his stupefaction, as he growled angrily at Leo, as his body started bulging, preparing for their confrontation .

"Shut up, you foul smelling undead that reaches to the high heavens!" Leo shot him some insulting words, but at the same time, he also felt surprised, because the [Darkseeker] in front of him is probably the most intelligent [Darkseeker] he had met so far, that the others don't even come close .

After a couple of seconds insulting each other, Leo took another deep breath, as his eyes flashed with a cold glint .

"Well then . . "

"Shall we?
