Stronghold In The Apocalypse 54 The Lord of Fire and The Barbarian King

Boom~!

The zombie got covered in flames as it started producing like moaning sounds before it fell down on the ground dead.

"This world is so f*cked up, right now" the guy muttered, shaking his head and running for his life from the zombie infested place that the got ended up to.

"It's good to be alive" the young man said in a soft voice as he entered a nearby building and then he continued "Good thing, I have this power of fire of some sort that comes out if I punch or kick with force and because of this I'm still living in this shitty hell hole"

"Am I a mutant now?" he said as he looked back at the new zombies dying to have a taste of him and then he saw a vacant room and dove inside, closed and locked the door and then he looked for something big to block the entrance which was a huge wooden cabinet as tall as him.

He pushed the cabinet as it slid on the floor as it successfully blocked off the door as the zombies on the other side kept banging on it.

Thud~ Thud~ Thud~!

"This ability would have been so great if wasn't for it being limited to five usage a day and now I only have two left of it" he cursed thinking that his ability is really powerful but it has a limit of five usage once a day.

"Arghh~ how do I f*cking get out of this town!?" he cursed in a low voice while looking at the streets below through the rooms window.

Currently, he is in what looks like a girls room as there are a lot of posters of men especially kpop stars posted on the wall.

He is John, a half Filipino and half American university student and also the very 'first' evolved human with Leo being an exemption as his abilities mostly came from the system.

Currently, John is cornered and hiding in a room at an apartment building in the middle of the town San Nicolas, it is a town that looks like a city. It is a town in the Philippines.

He was a hot blooded but righteous orphan who was left in front of the church doors, where a nun found him and adopted him.

He grew with the teachings of the god, the priest and the nuns in the church taught him everything, they even sent him through elementary, high school and university, full of hope which he didn't disappoint. He became one of the top students at the university that he's attending.

He was a great and nice guy and handsome too, he's liked by a lot of people because of his nice personality but he has one single flaw, he's too hot blooded that one day, on the way home, he saw a girl who is wearing a uniform with the logo of their school, being molested by an old guy. He got so angry that he charged at the guy and started beating him up. That guy was sent into the hospital in a critical condition and John got arrested after that but later got out when the guy was discovered as a wanted criminal, who molest girls and almost even raping them.

This guy is lucky as his loved ones are still alive and kicking as he sensed that something was wrong on the following days before the start of the apocalypse, that he immediately started barricading their house just beside the church and started stocking a lot of foods, waters and even weapons, like machete or anything with pointy tip or sharp edges.

When his friends found out what he was doing and John tried to tell them what he felt about the following days which they just shrugged it off and told him that he was just being paranoid which they were so wrong and now….

They're dead.

In Jamaica.

A dark muscular person that looks clearly like a bodybuilder with those bulging muscles on his body while wearing a backpack is on the streets swinging a huge wooden utility pole, smashing all zombies that blocks his way.

"Haaa~~! Die you dirty jujus!"

Suddenly, he noticed from the corner of his eye, a fast moving shadow pouncing towards him and then he smashed the pole towards it, turning whatever it is into a meat patty.

He is swinging 720 pounds utility pole like it was just an ordinary stick and that's crazy!

"Come out now, the street is safe for the time being! Let's go!" the man yelled at a nearby building and then a group of nine people came out ranging from women, kids, young men and even elderly.

"Follow me" the man said as he threw the huge wooden pole towards a nearby group of zombies, killing them.

"Boss, your weapon" a young man around twenty years old came up to him and handed him a machete in its sheath.

"Your really amazing big brother Devon" while they are slowly moving forward, a little boy came up to his side and said with full of admiration.

"Of course, I'm blessed by the gods and I will use it for the greater good!" Devon smiled wide as he looked at the little boy and ruffled his head.

"Come on guys, moves faster but quieter, okay? We need to go that camp at Port Maria that got broadcasted from the radio that Winston made and we need to reach it before nightfall and you don't want to be outside in night time" Devon urged them quietly.

Devon, 29 year old guy who was a former gangster before turned over a new leaf and become a well known kind of guy in the streets who wanted to become a buddhist monk and help people whose in need of his help.

Sadly, his dream didn't come into fruition as the epidemic suddenly came out of nowhere. On those days, he saw a lot of people die in front of his eyes, his family, people who are very close to him, friends and the town's people, he watched them die, helpless.

On the rainy night of the fifth day, him and his only family left his sister was being chased by big mutated beast that looks like a cat and that's when everything change. His sister got tripped and fell down on the ground and when Devon was about to help her, the monster beat him onto it as the monster arrived beside his sister and started feasting on her. Her cries that night and that eyes pleading with help with her hand outstretched towards him.

He really wanted to help her but he knows he won't even be able to put up a fight, he just stood there as he watched his sister die in front of him with blood red eyes under the rain and he slowly knelt on the ground and screamed towards the night sky.

"Ahhh~~~! Ahhh~~! Ahh~~!" he just kept screaming full of rage to the point that he was already crying in tears of blood, when suddenly he gave an ear piercing and then stopped like something just snapped inside him.

He felt dizzy and he saw that world around is pulsing like he was hearing his own beating and after that he felt a pain he had never experienced before that made him scream in pain.

"Arggghhh~~~!!!" he felt his body burning is so much pain like he was suddenly thrown into pot of boiling water as something weird was happening on the the muscles around his body, his veins were bulging and would move like a snake swimming in the water and his muscles would deflate and then inflate like it was a balloon.

"Argghhh~~! It hurts!!" suddenly a wave of relief came upon him and then came silence while his head just drooped down towards the ground.

This time the monster who was ignoring him earlier and was just feasting on Devon's sister was now staring at the silent Devon while slowly backing away from him as it looked at him full of wariness.

Then Devon moved and slowly stood up and he was standing in a weird posture with his back arched, his arms were hanging down and his head facing the skies with his mouth opened as ball of mist would come out along with his a heavy breathing.

Something changed in him, his aura of desolation was now like an ancient beast that just woke up from his long slumber.

Devon snapped his eyes wide open and slowly looked at the retreating monster who caused the death of his sister.

"You mons..ter juju....Die as an offering to my sister in the afterlife!" Devon roared as he charged towards at the now fleeing monster but the monster who was supposed to be faster than a human was now like an ordinary car with the Devon being a supercar who's now slowly catching up from behind.

"Monster! Get back here!" Devon shouted in rage as he suddenly uprooted a utility pole while running and smashed it towards the fleeing monster.

BANG~~!

The monster, whose clearly a mutate cat is still alive after being struck but it can't move as its body was stuck on ground.

"Die! Die! Die...!"

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

He repeatedly smashed to pole towards the monster and only stopped after he saw that it already turned into a meat paste.

Thud~!

He dropped the pole on the ground and slowly walked back towards the corpse of his sister. He didn't feel happy or even a bit of joy, instead he felt anger and so much sadness.

"Ashley, your brother has avenged you" Devon said as he silently cried.

2 minutes later, he stood up and clasped his hands like a monk and bowed towards his sister's corpse before he picked up what was left of it and went to bury it somewhere.

His body was surrounded by desolation and loneliness as it slowly moved forward under the rain as his steps, creating a "piter pater" sound on the soaked road.

And later they were known as John the Lord of Fire and Devon the Barbarian King.

And Leo?

Well...they're powers are practically useless in front him.
