Ye Dagong did not understand what he was getting at. Ye Dagong quickly brought Qing Yunzhi up the mountain to the grave of the woman. Qing Yunzhi used his Gang Qi to feel the energy of the grave, and he muttered, “Something is wrong with this grave, why does it contain two spirits? Worst yet, one is a child’s. Oh no, this is bad, quickly bring some people up here and dig up this grave. I want to see what is going on here!”

Ye Dagong gave Qing Yunzhi a strange look and said, “This … this is a widow’s grave, and she has no other family members. Usually, no one would mess around with the graves …. Additionally, if the villagers heard that we dug up someone’s grave for no good reason … it would put me in a bad position.”

Qing Yunzhi answered furiously, “If you don’t dig up the grave now, those corpses would have time to turn into Violent Undeads. By then, they can wipe out your whole village!”

These words shook Ye Dagong, so he quickly ran down the mountain to find people to help. Ye Dagong explained the situation to the people on the way up the mountain, and they agreed to assist him. As Ye Dagong promised to take on all the responsibility, they did not hesitate when they dug up the grave. As they were digging, Qing Yunzhi pulled out five small flags from his canvas bag. They were gold, green, brown, white, and red. These colors represented the five phases of Chinese philosophy. Qing Yunzhi stuck these flags around the grave, and he also lit some Spirit Capturing Incense and put them in the Qian and Kun position. These positions corresponded to the Eight Divinatory Trigrams.

“Everyone get back and stay behind the five flags. Do not enter the circle,” Qing Yunzhi could feel a formidable Yin Qi pulsing through the wooden coffin. Whatever is inside that coffin must be pretty powerful, he thought to himself.

Qing Yunzhi saw that the coffin was not nailed shut, so he used some cinnabar ink to write the Chinese character Chi on his right palm. Then, he slapped his palm on the coffin door and yelled, “Up!” (TL note: Chi represents divine order).

With one hand, he completely lifted up the heavy coffin lid. Then, he threw it to the side.

Ye Dagong and all the others grew curious and tried to peek into the coffin. The sight inside stunned them. A few seconds later, someone let out a pathetic scream, “She … she has fangs!”Two rows of fangs had grown from the corpse’s mouth; they reflected the light of the sun and appeared to be very sharp.

Qing Yunzhi examined the corpse with lightning speed, and a protrusion caught his eyes. He saw that the female corpse’s belly seemed to have a bulge. He became extremely worried and asked, “Does she have a baby in her?”

“That is not how I remember it to be. Although, she did die while she was giving birth,” Ye Dagong answered in shock, “After she died, we went to consult a Daoist. He told us that we must bury the bodies separately to avoid causing a catastrophe. So we did as he said and buried her baby on another hill.”

Qing Yunzhi nodded and answered, “That person is right. When a mother dies while giving birth, you cannot bury her with her dead baby. Otherwise, they will begin to have a strong relationship and will choose to not go the other realm. Since their spirits are locked inside their bodies, and the graveyard has plenty of Yin Qi, they will cultivate and become a pair of Violent Undeads”

Ye Dagong could only stare fixedly at her two rows of shiny sharp teeth. In a trembling voice, he said, “So that thing … inside her ….”

“This is bad. This mother and child pair have already cultivated for more than 49 days, so they are not your average ghost or demon,” said Qing Yunzhi. Then, he pointed at the protruding section of the female corpse, “That is a Violent Undead Infant, and it is growing inside her belly!”

Qing Yunzhi did not waste any time and ordered a few brave lads to stack wood around the coffin. Then, he instructed them to pour gasoline on it and scatter a layer of cinnabar powder. After that, Qing Yunzhi lit up a charm, muttered some incantations, and threw it on the wood pile.

Suddenly, an inordinate flame engulfed the entire coffin.

Qing Yunzhi sat down in front of the altar in the lotus position; he started to chant, “As the 38th Generation Maoshan Sect Master, I call upon the Gods of Daoism. I pray to the three divine beings of Daoism, and I report to the netherworld. I appreciate the way of Daoism, heaven, and hell; I will destroy all evil, and maintain peace. Listen to me now the 12 guardians of Daoism and the heavenly black tiger, come to my aid and kill this beast!”

The chant gave more Yang Qi to the fire. This would help to burn and destroy the Violent Undeads After 10 minutes of burning, the coffin had become a pile of charcoal, but the female corpse was totally unaffected. The fire had failed to even burn her clothes. It turned out that white strands of Yin Qi were leaving her body, pushing the fire away and protecting her body from burning.
