“Three hundred thousand….” Zhuang Yuning replied softly, flushed.

Ye Shaoyang smiled at Xiao Ma, “Hear that?”

Xie Yuqing frowned, “I don't quite understand. What does the evil spirit get in return? Why does it need a mortal's life? It is useless for them.”

“There is a trading department in the Underworld that manages the trading between mortals and spirits. For example, if a spirit trades in your mortal's life or health in that department, they can get something they want. Any form of deals can be traded, and most of them trade for cultivation.”

Ye Shaoyang's explanation shocked the three of them; their mouths gaped, speechless.

“Does the Netherworld Council give them the permission to do so?” Xie Yuqing muttered to herself.

Besides, the trading department is not under the control of the Netherworld Council, and the evil spirit does not force you to offer blood to it, and you have to understand that you need to sacrifice something once you agree. Isn't it not logical if you request the spirit to help you but you break the promise?”

Xie Yuqing nodded, “Indeed, there's no such thing as a free lunch. So, what's the other type of blood offering to a Kuman Thong?”

Her doubt reminded Ye Shaoyang. Upon arriving at Zhuang Yuning's villa, they found out that the power supply had returned as they saw lights in some of the villas.

As they walked into the yard, Zhuang Yuning looked over her shoulder and spoke to Ye Shaoyang, “Mr. Ye, do you want to have a look at the incense burner?”

“Not in a rush. Let me take a shower first.” For a few hours, he had been wearing wet clothing. He felt uneasy so he he quickly rushed to his bedroom and took a bath. After he showered, he changed to dry clothing and returned to the living room.

Moments later, Xiao Ma and Zhuang Yuning had taken their showers and changed too.

When he saw Zhuang Yuning continuously sneezing and her face looking ghastly, Ye Shaoyang asked in a concerned manner, “Not feeling well?”

“I think I caught a little cold. I will be fine.” As she spoke, she placed a red silk bag on the teapoy and opened it. A three-legged incense burner was revealed.

Ye Shaoyang immediately moved closer and studied it. The incense burner was the size of a teapot, crafted from brass, and finely carved. There was an ancient deity depiction on each side of the burner. Some incense ashes and half burned joss sticks remained in the burner.
