Chapter 288 Tragedy over The Revolving Door

A fifty-year-old security came out; shock appeared on his face when he saw Zhuang Yuning in a panic.

“Help me! Help me! Get the police here! Oh, help me, please!”

Just when the security reached out for his cell phone, Zhuang Yuning continued, “There is a ghost trying to kill me.” Stunned, he gazed into her eyes as if he was looking at a lunatic. At the same time, he heard someone walking across the puddles on the road, from the direction she came from. It was unusual to have someone loitering around the area during midnight, especially with the thunderstorm.

The security shone the torch in her direction. A boy, naked, as white as sheet, walked toward them with bare feet.

“Ghost! It is him! It is him! Help me!” Zhuang Yuning shouted involuntarily.

“Ghost?” The security smirked as he thought, This girl must have mental problems. How could a child be a ghost? However, he also wondered why a child would stay outside this late at night, without something to cover him and without an umbrella. Immediately, he sped up to the child and he muttered, “Poor kid, why are you staying outside alone at midnight….”

He stopped abruptly. The child was strange: A pair of thin and slender eyes that were widely separated. The eyes reflected a bloodred under the torchlight. Wait… Where was his mouth?

Holy moly, what kind of monster is this!

As the security retreated, he took out his walkie-talkie, trying to call his colleagues at the other gates for help. However, at this time, the child's skin cracked open at its mouth, ear to ear, and it let out a piercing cry.

“Damn!” The security scolded in shock. Turning his back on the child, he ran out for his life. Zhuang Yuning, who had blanked out in front of the security hut, ran out along with the security to the street through the small gate.

Both of them were staggering across the streets under the heavy rain. The street, which was usually busy and bright at night, was pitch-black due to the power cut. They kept looking back while running; soon, they found the child crawling on all fours at a very fast speed as it drew closer.

On the other side, Ye Shaoyang and Xiao Ma followed the presence of Zhuang Yuning to a river bank. Due to the thunderstorm, the current was terribly swift. The flashy stream shocked the two of them.

“Don't tell me that we need to swim across the river!” said Xiao Ma.

Ye Shaoyang marched alongside the river. After a few hundred of meters, the river branched into two and blocked his way. It was a dead end but Ye Shaoyang could sense that The Great One Talisman Paper was somewhere near him. Without hesitation, he dived into a bush and found the soaking talisman paper in a puddle.

Ye Shaoyang picked up the talisman paper and sensed it with his fingers. He turned to his right when a lightning bolt struck and brightened the surrounding a little. At this time, he saw Zhuang Yuning's slender figure standing in the distance. Immediately, he sprung toward her, grasping her shoulders and turning her around, “Why did you come to this place?”

Ye Shaoyang was stupefied the moment he turned her around: A woman with shoulder length hair in pajamas; she was not Zhuang Yuning but a pale-looking undead that looked about thirty-year-old. She had an awkward expression; her lips pouted.

This outcome stunned Ye Shaoyang. Seconds later, he choked the undead with his left palm as his right hand went behind her and struck the back of her neck so hard that it forced the undead to involuntarily open her mouth.

Releasing the choke hold, Ye Shaoyang stabbed his left index and middle fingers into the undead's mouth and sandwiched her tongue tightly. With a pull, the tongue thrust and returned once he released his fingers. Meanwhile, he opened up his palm and saw three black nails.

“Damn! Bastard! We have been fooled! It is a puppet!” Ye Shaoyang stomped his feet angrily.

“What?” Xiao Ma looked at him, stunned.

“Someone instilled Zhuang Yuning's presence into this undead so that we would leave the house. The real Zhuang Yuning is still in the house. We have to be fast! Go! Go! Go!”

The two of them sprinted back to the villa.

Zhuang Yuning and the security arrived at a construction area near the villa. The security tried calling his colleagues a few times but failed. Worse still, he had lost his walkie-talkie during the escape. The two of them ran to a newly built building with a revolving door.

The security panted as he shouted at Zhuang Yuning, “We can't run like this for long. It will catch up to us soon. We have to hide!”

Right after he finished his words, they ran toward the revolving door. Looking over his shoulder, he saw the child speed up; it had almost caught up with Zhuang Yuning. His eyes scanned the building, looking for something that could slow it down when he saw a few stacks of construction materials scattered on the ground. The rain soaked the packets, revealing a pack of cement. A folktale regarding cement's ability to repel spirits struck his mind. Without further thinking, he bent and carried a handful of cement and threw it at the child.

Indeed, the child retreated a few steps. Seeing its effectiveness, the security scooped up another handful of cement and threw it over again as he shouted at Zhuang Yuning, “Girl, get in there and hide!”

Zhuang Yuning staggered up the stairs, pushed open the revolving door, and looked back, “In here, quick!”

“After you. Find a good hiding spot!”

Zhuang Yuning had no choice but to enter. The security grabbed another two handfuls of cement in each hand and stood up. At this moment, he found that he had lost sight of the child. He hesitated. A strange chuckle sounded from beside him. He turned to the sound and saw the child; its pale face was leaning on his shoulder, its mouth split open as previously.

“I will send you to hell!” His fear turned into rage as he stuffed the cement into the child's mouth.

“Arrgh!” The child cried and fell to the ground. The security did not stop; he turned and pushed open the door. His ankle tensed up when he was halfway through the door; it was like someone was grasping his ankle. He looked down and saw the child sitting on the ground, hugging his leg tightly while casting an eerie smile toward him.

An ominous presentiment appeared in the security's mind. Seconds later, the revolving door spun at a high speed. The glass embedded his body on the frame. He struggled to no avail. The door spun faster, and faster until it was so tight that it squeezed his skin, causing it to burst open. Blood spurted everywhere, followed by bone cracking sounds.

Zhuang Yuning looked back when she heard the security yell in pain, and she saw a terrific scene: The security was sandwiched between the glass and the frame. Blood soaked his clothes red, and his body was torn apart, region by region. She paused for a while, thinking of saving him when she realized that the pale, naked child stood beside the revolving gate as it stared at her.
