Chapter 246 Young Boss Ma

Xiao Ma shouted, "No way, Little Ye! This is too steep! We are going to fall to our deaths!"

"Shut your foul mouth!" Ye Shaoyang climbed up almost twenty meters and rested his body on a stable rock. From there, he observed the entire sakura garden. He took out a notebook and started to sketch a simple map of the area. He jotted down some key features of the garden, including the trees where the skeletons were, the well, and the tomb. Then, he climbed back down and roughly calculated the distances between each feature. Finally, he dropped the notebook and took a deep breath.

Xiao Ma and Old Guo sat there staring at him anxiously; they did not dare to say anything.

Ye Shaoyang mumbled to himself for quite awhile, trying to figure something out. Then he pointed at the sakura garden, "Don't you guys feel like something is missing here?"

Xiao Ma and Old Guo thought for awhile. However, they could not come up with an answer, so they shook their heads. Xiao Ma said, "I don't see anything unusual here, except that this place is a little too quiet."

"You are correct. This place is too quiet." Ye Shaoyang explained, "This is such a thick forest, yet we can't even hear the sounds of birds chirping or the noises of bugs. Isn't that weird?"

Xiao Ma nodded, wanting to hear the rest of the explanation.

Ye Shaoyang paused a little and continued, "This place is not only a Formation of Nine Divine's Moon, it is a Spot of Death!"

As soon as he finished his sentence, they heard noises sound from the sakura garden.

Xiao Ma stared at Ye Shaoyang, "Didn't you just say that this is a dead place? Where does the noise come from?"

Ye Shaoyang was staggered too and thought, There should not be any living animals here. Or was I wrong? Suddenly, a tall young man appeared from between two sakura trees.

He immediately saw Ye Shaoyang and his companions. Due to his surprise, he froze for a second. Behind the young man, a few more people appeared. They stood behind the young man, and they obviously took orders from him.

At last, a skinny old man walked out from the crowd. He saw Ye Shaoyang and immediately pointed at him and shouted, "That's them! Those are the three people we saw on the CCTV! They must be here to do some kind of dirty work!"

The trio looked at the crowd that suddenly appeared before them and immediately realized that the old man had already noticed them breaking in. As a result, he alerted the crowd to confront them….

Ye Shaoyang observed the young man, who led the crowd. He was in his late twenties, and he had quite a handsome face. He wore a white shirt paired with blue jeans and sports shoes, while his mid-length hair was neatly combed. As he stood there with his hands in his pockets, he quietly stared at the trio with a stern face.

"Misunderstanding. This is a misunderstanding," Xiao Ma raised both of his hands as a signal of surrender, "We are here to…." He was suddenly at a lost for words, so he turned to Ye Shaoyang, "What are we here for again?"

Ye Shaoyang shrugged and remained silent. It would be futile to try and explain themselves now to this angry crowd. As such, he would rather remain calm.

The young man walked over to the trio and noticed the tools by Xiao Ma's feet. As he smiled, he signaled for the crowd to surround the trio.

Xiao Ma immediately understood what they were thinking, so he nervously waved his hands, "No, we are not here to raid tombs…. We are here to catch spirits."

The young man turned to another man that stood beside him, presumably his assistant, "Liu Qin, do you remember Master Liu's prediction that someone would come here to dig up the graves and damage my family's Feng Shui? I didn't believe it, but it looks like he is correct now."

Then he turned to Ye Shaoyang, "You look like the leader of your group. Be honest, tell me who sent you. We know you are only working for money. Just tell me the name, and we won't cause you any hardships."

Ye Shaoyang calmly looked at the man and answered, "Would you believe it if I tell you that this is really a misunderstanding?"

The young man was taken aback. He did not expect Ye Shaoyang to answer in such a calm manner, especially when they caught him red-handed. To make matters more interesting, Ye Shaoyang and his companions did not look like the typical bad people. However, he answered firmly, "Of course not, I won't believe it."

The assistant, whom the young man addressed as Liu Qin, sneered, "My young boss is only giving you a chance by being nice here. Don't overstep his kindness."

The young boss of the Ma Family? Ye Shaoyang observed the young man, "You must be… Ma Chen?"

The young man did not answer.

Liu Qin raised his voice in impatience, "Just answer our questions; don't try to avoid them!"

Ye Shaoyang knew that there was no point trying to explain because the crowd would not trust him. He recalled Zhou Jingru's instructions. It looked like he had no choice but to drag her into this. Ye Shaoyang looked at Ma Cheng, "You know Zhou Jingru, right?"

Ma Cheng was even more surprised to hear her name, "What? Did she send you?"

Before Ye Shaoyang could answer, Liu Qin walked up to him and furiously pointed at his face, "What rubbish are you talking about? Miss Zhou is our young boss' fiancé! Don't you even try to frame her!"

Ye Shaoyang took out his phone and called Zhou Jingru. Then he passed the phone to Ma Cheng.

Ma Cheng frowned a little when he saw Zhou Jingru's name displayed on the phone screen. He brought the phone to his mouth and answered carefully, "I'm Ma Chen." He patiently listened, but his facial expression grew more and more surprised. Ye Shaoyang could only guess that Zhou Jingru was explaining the whole story to him.

The phone call lasted for almost ten minutes. After hanging up, Ma Chen stared at Ye Shaoyang with a doubtful face. Then he broke the silence,

"Zhou Jingru told me that you are a sorcerer, and you are here to catch spirits."

Ye Shaoyang nodded.

"And, more importantly, she said that you people are her close friends." Ma Cheng smiled, "She wants me to treat you as my friends too. Trusting you is trusting her."

Before Ye Shaoyang could reply, Xiao Ma chipped in, trying to impress Ma Cheng, "Actually, we are more than close friends. Even Little Ye's phone is a gift from her. Besides...."

Ye Shaoyang immediately glared at Xiao Ma to stop him from talking, Are you trying to help me or kill me?

Ma Cheng stared at Ye Shaoyang's phone that he had held just now. He had a pained expression on his face. Ma Cheng took a deep breath to calm himself down, "I'm close to Zhou Jingru, so I would never doubt her. However… she is a naive girl. Sometimes, she trusts people too easily and gets cheated, so…."
