Chapter 228 The Blood Pixiu

That hand grabbed the edge of the puddle. Slowly, a red creature emerged. It had a dog-shaped body, a pig's face without lips, and two rows of black canines exposed along its jaws. Black sticky discharge filled with slender red worms flowed out between the canines.

"What the hell is this creature?" Ye Shaoyang clasped his hands as he retreated. His nail cut open his left palm and drew a '爻'.

"That is a Pixiu, a Blood Pixiu!" Tan Xiaohui replied nervously, "The creature can consume air and increase its cultivation. We must kill it as fast as possible. Don't let it consume too much air!"

Just after she said, the Blood Pixiu opened its mouth, exposed the two rows of canines and breathing in deeply. Its body color deepened.

Ye Shaoyang shot a handful of ancient Chinese coins at the Blood Pixiu, but it dodged them. However, Ye Shaoyang had predicted the position it would dodge. At his top sprinting speed, he rushed toward the Blood Pixiu, but it reacted fast too. With a bow, it dove below Ye Shaoyang's armpit and bit his shoulder.

Ye Shaoyang quickly smacked the Blood Pixiu with his left palm. The '爻' in his left palm activated at once and repelled it. Without giving the Blood Pixiu a chance to catch its breath, Ye Shaoyang hooked an arm around its neck tightly and pressed his left palm on its forehead. Blood continuously oozed out from the '爻' wound and sounded with a series of explosive sounds. White smoke hissed out once the blood encountered the Blood Pixiu.

Ye Shaoyang decided to use the move right after listening to Tan Xiaohui's words. Fleeing was the first thought that came to his mind. Suddenly, a figure blocked his way when he was running toward the exit of Dead Man Valley. He fixed his eyes upon it. It was Tan Xiaohui.

Tan Xiaohui stared at him coldly, "The traitor of the supreme witch family, where are you planning to go?"

Jin Shuai smirked as he replied, "Yes, I am a traitor, but at least I am a human. Not like you, you are not even a human--"

"No!" Tan Xiaohui raised up her hand and cast a Golden Coins Throwing Weapon at Jin Shuai, and sliced a piece of flesh from his cheek.

Jin Shuai cried out in pain. Covering his face with his hand, he ran toward the altar, and Tan Xiaohui chased him in circles around the altar. Jin Shuai still had good stamina even though he had lost his cultivation. When Tan Xiaohui chased him from the right, he ran in the opposite direction as though they were playing hide-and-seek. Tan Xiaohui was gasping for breath but still could not catch Jin Shuai.

On the other side, after Xiao Ma rested the young man in a safe place, he quickly ran back to help when he watched Ye Shaoyang killed the Blood Pixiu without any effort. As he approached, Ye Shaoyang raised his head and scolded, "Don't forget about your task! It is dying."

Ye Shaoyang's words stunned Xiao Ma; immediately, he remembered his mission and quickly ran toward the coffin. The blood of animal sacrifices had drained into the hole and had begun to dry up. The three jade rings stopped rotating. However, the center hole continuously emitted red light. Besides, they heard someone breathing heavily underneath.

A cunning smile started at the corner of Xiao Ma's lips. He removed the packs of black dogs' blood around his waist and poured one of them into the center hole of the coffin. Gulp! Gulp! Gulp! The creature drank happily and groaned. When Xiao Ma finished one pack, he opened another pack and poured it in as he tried to hold back his laughter. The creature paused after drinking another two mouthfuls of blood.

"Arrghh!" the creature in the coffin roared.

Bang! Bang!

The creature banged on the coffin cover making the copper cover to bulge up in a few places.

Xiao Ma burst into laughter when he felt the rage of the creature through its response.
