Immediately, Ye Shaoyang used Maoshan Qinggong and ran toward the source of the scent. When he arrived at the foot of the mountain, something appeared on the left side of his vision. Two shadowy figures seemed to be walking among the trees.

Ye Shaoyang looked toward them and saw that they were two humanoid figures. There wa one in front with the other behind it. The one in front was very tall and had a black body. The one behind had a police uniform and a slim body.

It must be Xie Yuqing!

“That should be Officer Xie, right? Good thing we found her,” Xia Ma panted as he finally caught up.

Ye Shaoyang, however, was not that happy. If Xie Yuqing had been captured by some evil spirit, then Ye Shaoyang would not have a problem saving her. However, it seemed that the shadowy figure in front was a Spirit Commissioner. It was a great offense to hinder their work.

A rope made out of straw hung from its waist and the other end was tied around Xie Yuqing’s hands. Since her three mortal lamps were blown out, she was unaware of what was going on like someone with amnesia.

Ye Shaoyang let out a sigh and said, “I’m a Maoshan Heavenly Master, Ye Shaoyang. Greetings, Commissioner.”

The Spirit Commissioner’s mouth did not move. However, a deep voice came from its belly, “There are no stops on the way to the underworld. Do you have some business?”

Normally, Spirit Commissioners would not open their mouths to speak so they could prevent the absorption of Yang Qi. Yang Qi was considered impure by Spirit Commissioners. If any entered them, they would need to excrete it out.

Ye Shaoyang pointed at Xie Yuqing and said, “This is my friend who has died of unknown causes. I’ve come to ask how she has died?”

The commissioner replied, “Why do you need to know?”

“Well, if her time has not yet come, then I would ask for you to do me a favor and let me bring her back.”

The commissioner let out a humph and said, “Well, I’m terribly sorry. This woman was killed in an accident, and her time has come. This is her faith, so pardon me.”

It turned and walked away.

“Wait!” Ye Shaoyang ran up, cut him off and threw a talisman paper at Xie Yuqing. Immediately, her three mortal lamps lit.

Xie Yuqing came to her senses. When she looked up and saw Ye Shaoyang, she yelled joyfully, “Come save me, little trickster!”
