“Come to my room first,” Ye Shaoyang led him to his room. By then, Xu Handan had returned to her normal form and she sat quietly on the bed in a well-behaved manner.

Xiao Ma saw her when he arrived. His eyes grew wide and he asked, “Little Ye, why is there a woman here at this hour? How does this relate to money making?”

Ye Shaoyang gave Xiao Ma a brief explanation. After he learned that the woman on Ye Shaoyang’s bed was a spirit, he looked at her and said, “Sister, I really love to get justice for people. I’ll help you obtain revenge. First, I’ll go and beat up the hotel owner!”

Then, he rolled up his sleeves and got up. Ye Shaoyang immediately pulled him back down.

“Even if you beat him up, we won’t make any money. Here’s what you need to do…”

After he heard Ye Shaoyang’s plan, Xiao Ma nodded in agreement. Then, he exited the room with a smile. Only a few minutes passed before Xiao Ma came back dragging the owner of the hotel along by the hand. The owner was still dazed and his eyes were still partially shut.

Xiao Ma then said, “Old man! Don’t lie, you knew about this spirit a long time ago.”

The owner suspected the two of them must have heard stories about his hotel from somewhere, so he didn’t try to deny it.

Instead, he said, “This room was haunted by a spirit, but I got a Daoist here to perform a ritual. Since then there have been no more problems,” the owner went to the door and pointed, “See there is even a piece of talisman paper stuck here.”

He then reached for the mirror on top of the doorframe and said, “Here, see, a magic mirror for demons. With this and the talisman paper, no spirit can come in. That’s why you two are wrong.”

The owner, however, did not buy it. He smiled and said, “Oh, I see. So did you two hear from somewhere about our haunted room and decide to come here and cheat me? Maoshan Heavenly Master? Haha! Well, I’m the master of the Pu Tuoshan Sect! Talk about spirits and what not. Why don’t you bring a spirit here? Then, I’ll believe you!”

Ye Shaoyang let out a sigh and thought, Why do you people never feel fear until you see the coffin?

So, Ye Shaoyang pointed behind him and asked, “Look. Who is that?”

As soon as he said that, the lights in the room turned off. Then a woman appeared on the bed in the shining moonlight. Her tongue was long and her body contorted as she climbed toward the owner.

The owner’s mouth was in an ‘O’ shape and he immediately ran out of the room. Ye Shaoyang quickly got Xu Handan into his hand and chased after the owner. As he approached the door the talisman paper in the room shot out a ray toward Ye Shaoyang, but it had no effect on him. Instead, the talisman paper was blown off.

“Ah!” Xu Handan let out a scream of shock.

She had never thought that Ye Shaoyang’s power was that strong. He completely canceled the talisman paper of the previous Daoist. Remembering her efforts to scare him, she felt foolish. At the same time, she felt grateful for his help. She knew that he could have just easily solved the problem by destroying her soul.

The owner got to the main lobby and picked up a statue of Guan Yu as he panted heavily. Ye Shaoyang slowly walked over, knocked on the reception table and asked, “Now do you believe me?”

The owner seemed unfazed and still argued, “I didn’t see it clearly. Why don’t you let her out again?”

The owner knew that the statue of Guan Yu had some spirit repelling effects. That’s why he was boldly challenging Ye Shaoyang to release the spirit, but Ye Shaoyang was ahead of him.

“Do you really want me to release her? I’ve worked so hard to capture her though.” Ye Shaoyang knocked on the table again and said, “Okay, I’ll let her out then.”

Xu Handan crawled out of the reception table. She bled everywhere as she contorted her body, cracked her bones, and crawled toward the owner.

The owner was instantly terrified. He quickly held the statue in front of him, hoping for protection; however, Ye Shaoyang had a trick. He quickly chanted something and used his Gang Qi to cover the eyes of the statue temporarily. With nothing hindering her, Xu Handan swiftly approached the owner and wrapped her hands around his neck. Even though her cultivation was minimal, she was still able to strangle the owner.

Although it was according to Ye Shaoyang’s plan to scare the man, her actions were filled with anger and hatred toward him. She used all of her strength to strangle him, so his face turned the color of a piece of liver.

The owner could not speak at all, so he desperately tried to use his eyes to ask Ye Shaoyang for help.

Ye Shaoyang shrugged his shoulders and said, “Hey, don’t look to me for help. I’ve already helped you capture her once but you wanted me to release her. Now I have no obligation to help you again.”

Xiao Ma’s face turned white. He looked at Ye Shaoyang worriedly and said, “I think you better give him a hand. Saving him is a good deed.”

Ye Shaoyang then replied, “You think it’s easy to capture spirits? It takes a lot of power to do it. Plus, he is not paying me, and I’ve got a job tomorrow that’s worth fifty thousand yuan.”

Xiao Ma nodded his head and said, “Oh, that’s right. If you use all your power today to help him and you can’t perform tomorrow, you’d miss out on the fifty thousand. Master, I think it is best we leave before the owner dies lest we get bad luck.”

As the two turned their backs on the owner, Xu Han Dan purposefully let go of the owner. The owner quickly inhaled a large amount of air and pleaded, “Please! Please save me! Please save me, I’ll give you however much money you want!”

As soon as the owner said these words, she choked him again.

“Ah...er…” the owner again unable to speak, could only use his eyes to plead for help.

Ye Shaoyang paused for a while before apparently making a decision, “Well, I don’t want much from you. Since the person tomorrow wants to pay me fifty thousand, I’ll ask you for sixty thousand. Ten thousand more just in case I can’t perform tomorrow. What do you think?”

Ye Shaoyang got out his Date Wood Sword and faced her. They fought and exchanged strikes and parries as if on a movie set. The owner watched Ye Shaoyang in awe. Impressed with how he fought Xu Han Dan.

After fighting for a while, Ye Shaoyang finally capitalized on her weakness. He quickly pulled out a talisman paper and captured her. Panting heavily, he sat on the floor and said, “Wow, that female spirit was powerful. I almost couldn't defeat her.”

He looked up after a while and saw that the owner was cowering behind the reception table, peeping out to check on Ye Shaoyang.

Ye Shaoyang made a hand gesture and said, “Sixty thousand. Give it to me by tomorrow morning. Xiao Ma, give him our account number.”

“Right away,” Xiao Ma got a piece of paper from the reception table and wrote down his name and card number. He handed it to the owner and warned him, “Don’t do anything funny, okay? That spirit is still in that talisman paper, so if you don’t pay us the money, we’ll definitely let the spirit out again and let it kill you. By then, even if you gave us a hundred thousand, we won’t help you out.”

Even though the owner was reluctant to pay, he was more fearful of a spirit coming after him, so he did not dare say no. Instead, he cupped his hands, bowed, and agreed to pay them the full amount.
