A muscular, 180 centimeters tall man held a lipstick. He acted like a teenage girl, as he applied the lipstick to his lips. Manager Zhang could see the visible satisfaction on his face. It was extremely spooky. Manager Zhang did not feel disgusted nor sickened, but he felt deeply terrified. Immediately, he felt convinced that this had to be a supernatural event.

Manager Zhang took a deep breath and rushed toward the door in an attempt to escape. Whamp! the door closed. He tried to open it, smashing it with all his strength. To his surprise, he could not even open this almost rotten door that lacked a lock. He collapsed on the door and slid to the ground. As he sat, he hopelessly turned around.

After Old Wang had finished with his lips, he took out an eyebrow pencil and a copper-frame mirror out of nowhere. As he looked into the mirror and drew on his eyebrows, he hummed a song. He emitted a female voice! Rather than a popular song, Old Wang hummed a folk song from Huangmei opera. The spooky song sent chills up Manager Zhang’s spine, and a cold feeling spread over his body. He could not speak and almost broke down. Old Wang tilted his body, as he felt that the light was insufficient. The mirror directly faced Manager Zhang. Inside the mirror, Manager Zhang did not see Old Wang’s face nor his own. Instead, he saw a lady’s face. She had a face as white as a sheet, and her eyes had opened wide. He could not see sclera in her eyes. The lady in the mirror continued to draw her eyebrows at the same pace as Old Wang. A sweet smile flickered across her lips.

Suddenly, she seemed to notice Manager Zhang. She glanced at him and smiled. Then, her mouth split open, all the way to her ears. A green liquid flowed between the gaps of her teeth….

“Ghost, ghost….” Manager Zhang was out of breath. His instincts told him to crawl backward. He knocked against a piece of board at the foot of the nearby wall. Behind the wall, he discovered a small room that hid behind the boards. Manager Zhang dived into the room without any hesitation.

A dim light lit up the room once he entered. Manager Zhang turned around and saw an old-fashioned oil lamp on a small, red wooden table. He had focused too much on how to escape, so he did not even notice that the oil lamp had lit up by itself. He closed the door and hurriedly moved a table to block the door from opening.

Suddenly, three gentle knocks resounded from the door. He felt like they knocked at his heart. He backed off little by little. At this moment, a creaking noise sounded from a corner of the room. He turned around to check. He saw an ancient style bed covered with two thin mosquito nets. With the help of the dim lighting, he could vaguely see a skinny person slowly rise from the bed. At the same time, Manager Zhang heard the person emit bone cracking sounds.

Seven stakes were nailed at the seam of two mosquito nets. The person inside placed her palms together and prayed to the stakes. The uppermost stake automatically fell off. She prayed again, and another stake fell off….

Manager Zhang slumped on the ground. He watched the last stake fall off, but he did nothing. A pair of yellowed, wizened hands extended out and gradually lifted open the net.

A lady that wore a cheongsam sat on the edge of the bed. Her long, straight hair covered her face. She took out a pair of embroidered shoes from beneath the bed and wore them on her feet. She hummed the previous folk song, as she combed, “Open the door, pitch dark inside, light the lamp, have a look, the maker of the burial clothes will be flayed….”

Then, she slowly raised her hand and pointed at Manager Zhang. At this moment, his phone rang. After a few failed attempts, he managed to fish out his phone with his weak fingers. He quickly picked up the call and horribly cried, “Help! Help!!!”

Suddenly, a hand rested on his shoulders from behind. Manager Zhang started and looked back. He saw a bloody face and an agape mouth that displayed two rows of sharp teeth….

“Gulp….” Manager Zhang let out a strange sound. He broke down, and his head tilted sideways. He had fainted. The phone still hung at his ears. A woman’s voice came from the other side of the phone, “Manager Zhang, what happened to you? Where are you now, Manager Zhang?”

A horrifying face approached the phone and let out a laugh that resembled the sound of a screeching rat.

“Ahhh!!!” Zhou Jinru threw away her phone; her face extremely pale. She stood stunned for a few seconds and looked back at Ye Shaoyang. Her voice trembled, as she said, “I heard a lady laugh. The scary laughter...it didn’t sound human at all!”

Ye Shaoyang frowned; he hurriedly picked up the phone and brought it to his ears. The phone line was still active. Instead of laughter, he heard a faint voice. It sounded like someone humming a tune.

“Something bad has happened. Let’s go!” Ye Shaoyang immediately grabbed his backpack and sped out. The sky still drizzled with rain. The three of them traversed the muddy road and ran toward the construction site.

“Shaoyang, where are we going?” Xie Yuqing asked as they ran.

“Madam Chee's Temple!”

The two ladies paused. Zhou Jinru asked in a worried tone, “How do you that know Manager Zhang is in the temple?”

“We will know when we get there.”

They ran to Madam Chee's Temple without a break. The main door was closed. Without hesitation, Ye Shaoyang stuck a talisman paper on the door. The door opened, as the Yin Qi dispersed. Ye Shaoyang wore a glowing stick on his wrist. Then, he turned around to Xie Yuqing and Zhou Jingru, “Be careful!” Once he strode through the doorway, he saw a horrifying scene, which caused him to feel dread—a male worker in a uniform laid face-up on the ground. His mouth yawned open, and a pencil-like object had deeply embedded itself in his throat. Blood soaked his whole body. Ye Shaoyang squatted beside the worker and searched for more clues. He discovered that an eyebrow pencil had killed this worker.

The worker’s body still felt warm, which meant that he did not die long ago. Ye Shaoyang immediately cuts his middle finger and let a droplet of his blood fall onto the worker’s forehead. He drew a simple rune. Then, he pressed his middle finger on the worker’s Gui Men. He quietly intoned the soul summoning chant, as he tried to search and check if the worker’s soul was nearby….

After half a minute, Ye Shaoyang stood up, totally flabbergasted.

“What happened?” Xie Yuqing asked worriedly.

“I can’t sense the location of his soul. His soul is not in the human world or the Underworld. Someone must have captured it.”

Xie Yuqing covered her mouth and looked at Ye Shaoyang with astonishment.

“Big brother Shaoyang, there is a door.” Zhou Jingru pointed at a corner. Ye Shaoyang looked up and indeed saw a door, but a wooden board laid in front of it. That was probably why they did not discover the existence of this other room previously. Ye Shaoyang walked toward the room and pushed open the door. Neither Xie Yuqing or Zhou Jingru dared to take a deep breath, as they followed closely behind Ye Shaoyang.

An oil lamp lit up the room. Ye Shaoyang immediately saw Manager Zhang. He sat on the bed and leaned against the wall. He seemed dazed.

“Manager Zhang! Are you okay?!” ”

After she said this, Zhou Jingru wanted to approach Manager Zhang. However, Ye Shaoyang blocked her way. He let out a sigh. Then, he spoke and his words sent chills up the two ladies’ spines, “How did you die?”
