Chapter 497: Chapter 495: On the Return to City Tower

Every sorcerer attending the Supreme Council was a top figure in the sorcerer world, and none were daunted by the occasion. After hearing Doradoli's introduction, the sorcerers below quickly started discussing.

“My fellows, I can assure you that thirty thousand meters is certainly not the limit of Sorcerer Ivan's research. Furthermore, he has clearly expressed his hope that us senior sorcerers would continue to expand upon his framework, to bring the Homecoming Tower into service for our sorcerer world as soon as possible.”

Doradoli let others discuss for a while before speaking again.

At the end, he eagerly volunteered to continue the research.

“As for the practical application concerns that some of you are worried about, Sorcerer Ivan has already envisioned extending this to important fortresses, movable airships, and even some special space magic devices. You really don't need to worry about that.

“As for the selection of the successor, I am humbly willing–”

“Wait a second, Doradoli, you are too hasty. The topic hasn't yet been approved for further research; now is not the time to discuss a successor.”

Before he could finish, someone interrupted him.

The introduction had only broadly outlined the situation; much core data remained undisclosed. The potential of the Homecoming Tower was evident–naturally, others were eager to get involved.

“Nonsense! Am I, the President of the School of Space, not qualified to continue researching the achievements of my own school?”

In the eyes of outsiders, the supreme council meeting, which seemed almighty and unassailable, was actually spent mostly in debate.

The Truth Hall was isolated from the outside world, and no one could hear the noise inside. The powerful, who usually had to maintain their poise, now had a rare opportunity to abandon decorum altogether; naturally, when it was time to swear, they did, and quite foully at times.

The speaker was Hardy Charosi, who was seated rather near the front, close to the spot reserved for the sorcerers of the Void King. He directed his comment towards them.

The moment he voiced this suggestion, the Truth Hall became exceptionally quiet.

Truth Gems were something that not even Arcane Wizards could craft, and at present, there were only two people in the sorcerer world who could produce them. One was the King of the Long Sky, and it was under his hands that the gems came into being.

The other was the Dragon Flame King.

The Dragon Flame King had mastered the power of flames to an extraordinary extent and was highly skilled at crafting various objects. However, the Truth Gems he produced were clearly inferior in quality to those of the King of the Long Sky.

“I agree, Sorcerer Ivan's achievements are worthy of such a reward.”

“I concur as well.”

Seeing how earnest Hardy was, Doradoli and Ma Li were the first to catch on and expressed their agreement.

Philomena, too, was present. As the City Lord of the East Capital, she naturally supported her own eminent scholar, echoing the agreement and mentioning some of Ivan's past achievements.

“I believe it's inappropriate, the Tower of Return has only been a concept thus far proved useful, and its true efficacy is unknown at this time.”

“Those from the Fitzgerald family, what are you trying to say? The Tower of Return also has Tanaya Fitzgerald's contribution, are you suggesting that several Level 3 Sorcerers need to give you practical proof of its applicability, an impossible task–where is your face, didn't you bring it today?”

Where there was support, there was also opposition, with many more choosing to remain neutral.

It was evident that those in favor outnumbered those against.

When the King of the Long Sky spoke, although many were perplexed, they nevertheless showed support, and there were even more supporters than before.
