“Very well then, I hope you continue to be like this.” Lady Vicky, trembling with anger, saw her virtual shadow abruptly vanish.

The connection between them broke at that point, clearly parting on bad terms.

A soft noise came from the door, and Mara entered, full of apologies.

“There's no need for apologies. Her contacting me was bound to be unpleasant from the start. It has nothing to do with what you did. Besides, you were standing up for me. Her words were indeed too much; I really want to give her a good beating.”

Tanaya did not blame her; instead, she stepped forward and reassuringly took her hand.

Ivan didn't give much in the way of explanation, casually passing him a strange Token. As he said, the entire testing procedure wasn't complex; one or two viewings made everything clear.

Locke took the Token without hesitation.

It was an oddly shaped Token, a metal plate the size of a palm with a Crystal Ball crudely inserted into it, seemingly placed at random. The surrounding metal plate distributed unevenly.

Both the Token and the Crystal Ball, inside and out, were engraved with dense runes lines that seemed chaotic at first glance.

This thing lacked aesthetic appeal but its significance was far from small; tantamount to the Light Order that acts as a beacon, as well as the scroll from the Town Recall Scroll, it was the product of considerable effort by Ivan and his associates.

“Ladies and gentlemen, perk up and watch closely.”

“Don't worry, Scholar, our eyes have been wide open and our Spirits high.”

After some time together, whether they were originally familiar with Ivan or not, they had come to trust him completely.

This great scholar's depth and breadth of knowledge in space were indeed breathtaking, fitting for the one who initiated research into the 'Town Recall Scroll'.

As they spoke, Locke, holding the peculiar Token, took a few steps to the outer side of the entire facility. He was precisely one thousand meters from the Large Tower in the center and only four hundred meters from one of the small Towers out in the open.

Ivan too clapped, signaling approval. His heart wasn't exceptionally jubilant; he was just trying to avoid dampening spirits.

Currently, this device obviously required 'dialing in'; it wasn't very sophisticated.

When the time came for him to go through personally and pass the test, he would declare the first phase basically a success. He planned to make further improvements and refine the system, eliminating these inconveniences.
