He is not questioning it because of what they have experienced but because he was plainly curious of the reason why Kaoru chose to turn his back in being a swordmaster .

"You knew that he and Akira's relationship was strained because of the past right?"

They nodded, they found out about it in separate occassions but in the end they still found out about it .

"It was because he couldn't protect Akira . "

The eight of them showed even more confusion . If he can't protect Akira then he shouldn't have dropped his sword but instead he should have took hold of it and train even more .

"I can say that what you all think is wrong . He couldn't protect her not from the enemy but from himself . The scar that Akira obtained from that incident back then was due to her jumping in between Kaoru and the bandit . Kaoru was about to deal with the final blow but Akira who was in the side jumped in between them . "

"If I was not mistaken, there were 15 bandits who ambushed them back then . It was only Kaoru who can fight against them since the other guards were on a patrol in the other areas . Enemies or not, for Akira who encounter such events for the first time and seeing Kaoru wield his sword in order to kill and not just to train . She must have been scared," Akihiro continued after a few moment of silence .

"So he was traumatized by this that he can no longer wield his sword?"

"Yes, he could have fought with us when Hesperian Kingdom first attack but even if he tried, his hands won't even move . Like the sword was too heavy for him to carry . "

Such revelation was something they didn't expect during this time . The war was over, they have defeated their main enemy and thought that finally everything would be in peace and everyone would already be fine and could move forward .

Who would have thought that Kaoru, whom they always see as someone who's childish and playful . Someone who loves snacks and tea, was actually someone who was once ruthless .

"But why? Why did he still push her away? If he was planning to taking up his sword and fighting back, wouldn't it be better for him to show it to the Doctor?" Nana who was silently listening all this time, opened her mouth and asked .

"Despite facing his fears and picking up his sword once again . Not everyone could easily shake off the trauma of what had happened in the past . He is currently taking things slowly . And since he was alone facing all those generals and maybe captains, he can't risk Akira's life," Akihiro explained .

"Then he would be alone, how will he stay strong if he remains alone?" Nana, who was feeling sad, asked once again .

"Your uncle is old enough . If he can't carry this much emotional burden, how is he supposed to carry his duties as the king?" Akihiro smiled and said .

He then picked up the parchment and another blank paper, ready to write a letter to Kaoru, informing him that everything is up to him .

"Father," Nana once again spoke up .

Kaoru, who remained the same all through out the two weeks of Akira's travel and the week of the travel of the letter, just entered his still messy place holding the envelope that just arrived .

No one knew but he had a sword in his room for the past two months where he barely interacted with Akira . He had been secretly swinging it, trying to regain back his feel towards the sword .

After Akira left, he had been swinging it for almost every hour that he was free . He never brought it out in order for those people not to get suspicious of him, of why he suddenly became interested in using the sword .

If he were to follow those people's plan then if he had married Arisa, the chief and the others who support him would accept him as the new king wiythout any qualms . Without bothering with the first condition their kingdom brought up, if someone wants to be their next king .

He sat down at the chair that was the only one standing in the middle of the whole messed up place . No one had the chance to enter his place after Akira left so everyone thinks that he was still acting normal .

Kaoru, stared at the letter in front of him, there were eight paragraphs on it . And each paragraph writing was different from the other .

~Kaoru, I was really mad when I came to escort the doctor back . That girl was even holding your hand, but I'll pass it as you acting . When you return I wish to try and spar with you . ~

~Who would have thought that you have that side as well . I thought you only knew how to have some snack and tea . Well good luck, bring back some good news . ~

He chuckled, the third was obviously from Mamoru and the next would be from Hideyoshi .

~I can never incorporate you with a sword but you have guided me back in the academy regarding my control of the water ability . So I can tell that you would be able to wield that sword, even with the year gap . You are that strong after all . ~

~I never got the chance to be under you but I saw that you took good care of the students back then especially Eureka . So I know that she is in approval of you wielding your sword all over again . Just not hurting the doctor, I think . ~

"I don't think so Azusa, she had hurt all of us over and over again to protect us after all . "

Kaoru nodded his head and a smile bloomed in his face, the last paragraph is obviously Raven, "Don't worry I have no plans on losing right now . "
