Second Quest (4)

Vivian slowly opened her eyes because her face, neck and arms felt extremely itchy and she could also feel like there was something bouncing on her back and legs.

One mushroom jumped and aimed for her face.

 

Vivian caught it mid-air with one hand.

 

She could feel the tips of her fingers not covered by her gloves holding the mushroom becoming itchy but she didn't mind it and tightened her grip.

The mushroom was squashed to death.

She turned to the remaining mushroom and did the same.

She tried to form a fist with her hand but stopped mid-way and gritted her teeth.

 

"FUCKING ITCHY…!"

 

The itchiness from her face, neck and arms was slowly dissipating. But the ones on her fingers were still fresh.

Vivian was still sitting on the ground and all of the itchiness was gone.

 

She raised her head and looked up in the sky.

A fox stood in front of Vivian about 10ft away and was growling.

 

Vivian moved forward slowly to bait the monster.

 

When she got close enough, the monster leaped forward and opened its mouth.

Vivian performed a roundhouse kick and it landed on the fox's jaw while still in mid-air, causing it to spin a few times in the air before flying to the side and crashing to the ground.

 

Just like she did so many times, Vivian automatically rushed to the fox’s side and raised her leg.

She stomped its head and there was a cracking sound.

 

She resumed roaming around in search of more enemies.

Vivian quickly turned to where the sound was coming from and immediately located the bird.

 

Once she spotted the bird, she waited for it to come to her. But this time around, she was more alert than usual and would occasionally glance at the sides.

 

Whaaack!

 

When the bird entered her attack range, she whacked it away with the whip of her hand and then she immediately rushed to where it landed.

 

Bam!

 

As she was about to extract its tail, she noticed up ahead that a sunflower monster was charging in her direction.

 

She glanced around to see if there were any other monsters around. She also strained her ears if she could hear any bird crowing and wings flapping.

 

I don't see or hear anything…

 

She returned her gaze to the sunflower monster and then burst out into a run.
