Chan Gu tried to clarify his question to make himself clear, especially to Long Yue.
"Well, that is to say, that the apprentice necromancer is still studying at Magus Academia. But considering that the news that we got is almost 2 decades late, we cannot deny the possibility that the apprentice necromancer is no longer staying at Magus Academia."
This time, it was Fan Lei who expressed his idea. Just like what he had said, there is no guarantee that the apprentice necromancer is still staying at the Magus Academia up until now.
Considering that it was already 18 years ago, a lot of things could have happened during that span of time.

Since Long Fuzi already told them the background story as to why the apprentice necromancer had come to the Kingdom of Long before, they already have quite an idea about it.
Base on what Long Fuzi had told them before, the apprentice necromancer had come wreaking havoc in the Kingdom of Long after pursuing his runaway bride.
So it was indeed a good plan for them to go looking for that sorceress named, Yu Yan, and start from there.
"Yes, it was her. Since she used to know the apprentice necromancer, then we can definitely find something related to the apprentice necromancer once we tried looking for her information."
"Great! Now, we really have a good start. By the way, how did you know her name??? It was not even recorded on the books at the book depository."
As someone who personally looked for the information about the appearance of the apprentice necromancer who appeared in their kingdom, Long Fuzi make it sure that he had read all the books recording the details in that incident that happened 18 years ago.

"You heard it??? Does it mean you are also there when Su Yan acquires this information???"
Yun Xue asked in confusion when he heard Long Yue's interjection.
Su Yan had asked them the last day to stay out of it since he has a plan. He told them that he was planning to do it by himself.
The other party even make it sound like he was about to use some kind of secret that he can't afford to be made known by any of them.
That is why he had asked for their trust and told them beforehand that he cannot allow any of them to learn of his plan.
As such, they left Su Yan to do it his way without asking for further details.

He did that because he wanted to do cover up with Mu Lingxi. After all, he knows why the other party is familiar to that name.

But of course, Mu Lingxi can not tell the group about that. So he wanted to help his friend and purposely told them that he personally heard the Clan Head mentioning it.
He did not think that Yun Xue will focus on an entirely different thing. He even sound agitated when he heard that he was there with Su Yan at that time.

Of course, Mu Lingxi knew that Long Yue did that to cover up for her. To be honest she was relieved.
This means that she won't have to worry that Long Yue will expose her disguise for the meantime. He was even helping her out to covering up her disguise.
That is a huge relief itself, considering that she already has a lot of things in mind. At least she can take Long Yue out of those concerns for now.
"Long Yue followed me last night to make sure that I was safe. That is why he was there and overheard my conversation with the Clan Head.
Mu Lingxi rides along to Long Yue's lie to wrapped things up.
"Ohh I see... So that is why. If I only knew that it is okay to tag along, I should have followed you as well to give my support."
Chan Gu commented when he heard the confirmation coming from the two. They thought that Su Yan prefers working alone that night so they tried their best to reign over their curiosity and left him to fend it for himself.
If they only knew that they can also tag along, they would have done the same.
'It was actually a good thing that all of you were obedient and decided against following me last night. Unlike this busy-body, Long Yue.
Or else, my disguised would have been exposed to all of you already.'

Little did she know that someone from the group was taking this unexpected 'Su Yan and Long Yue' tandem into a whole new level.
For Yun Xue, it was a huge blow to his pride.
