SORCERESS 101 237 THE TRAGIC LOVE STORY

Knock! Knock!

On the next morning, Mu Lingxi was woken up by the soft knocking that was coming from her door. As soon as she realized that it was her friends waiting for her outside, she immediately sat up.

While she was stretching her back to relieve the stiffness in her body due to sleeping she is also walking towards the door.

While she was about to open the door, she heard Chan Gu's voice on the other side calling for her.

"Su Yan????"

"Comiiiiingggg"

She answered back while yawning.

The sun has not yet to fully ascend to the sky when Long Fuzi and the rest of Mu Lingxi's friends decided to start the day.

In fact, the dawn chorus hasn't finished their first song yet when the group went on to knock at Mu Lingxi's door.

Even the early rays of the morning sun had just barely filtered into the room through the capiz windowpane when Mu Lingxi woke up.

Opening the door, Mu Lingxi tried to rub away the sleepiness remaining in her eyes.

"Su Yan, I'm sorry to disturb you but he has to go now and start our search."

Chan Gu said when he noticed that Su Yan (Mu Lingxi) looked like he just climbed out from his bed.

"I see, no worries. Just give me a minute here. I'll just clean myself first. I'll follow you guys later after I'm done."

"Sure, no problem. We'll be waiting for you outside then."

With that being said, Mu Lingxi closed the door and ready herself. While Chan Gu and the others waited for her outside.

Sitting at the gazebo, overlooking the small zen garden that sat at the corner of the manor, Chan Gu and the others were given something to admire as they wait for Su Yan to arrive as well as for the sun to fully rise in the boundless sky.

After a couple of minutes, Mu Lingxi finally went out of her room to meet her friends. Looking fresh and clean with her new set of clothes. From how her skin was still flushed, it was obvious that she just had her bath too.

Last night, while the rest of them were already retiring for the night Long Fuzi was working inside the library. He tried to acquire as much information as he could regarding the apprentice necromancer that appeared in their kingdom.

He went on looking at the affairs that happened within the Kingdom of Long during the past couple of years. He also tried to investigate everything that could be related to the movement of the apprentice necromancer

He took notes of all the information that he gathered and jotted them down, without leaving a single detail.

The information that their group required, such as old reports and records of events that transpire in the kingdom for the past years can only be accessed in the book depository of the palace.

As such Long Fuzi spent most of his time last night inside their book depository. His efforts did is not for vain though. Since all of his hard work overnight pay off.

Due to his diligence in finding out about the whereabouts of the apprentice necromancer, Long Fuzi managed to get his hands over the inside information of what really happened way back a couple of years ago.

"So what have you learn so far brother?? Did you get the information that we needed"

Long Yue asked as soon as they started their morning meeting.

There are a lot of things that transpire within the Kingdom of Long for over the past 20 years. Bizarre phenomena that can't be explained through common norms should also be taken into consideration. Especially those that appear to be somehow related to the practice of soul arts.

Taking these into the account really made Long Fuzi's job a tough one. He had a hard time to filter out all those records and sort them within just a single night.

But using the clues given to them by the old hermit before, he was able to narrow down his searches and so he still managed to get some useful information despite the limited period of time.

"Twenty years ago, there were a total of three major occurrences that happened in our kingdom but I believe that only one of them could possibly lead us to the news of the apprentice necromancer that appears on our kingdom."

Long Fuzi started as he looked at each of his friends to make sure that their attention was on him. Before he proceeded on reporting everything that he managed to uncover so far.

"One of those major occurrences happened 18 years ago. This strange phenomenon was recorded in our library but most of the accounts of what happened that day were taken somewhere else. Nevertheless, I still managed to lear some of it.

It was said that on the 23rd day the first quarter of that year, the sun dimmed and engulfed the sky with darkness. The entire kingdom was plunged into darkness even though it was clear daybreak that time."

"It sounds like there was a solar eclipse that time..."

Mu Linxi thought to herself. But of course, she did not voice out her opinion and she just kept it to herself. After all, there is no guarantee that they will believe her or even understand her explanation if she will start talking science to them.

"What happened then???? Did the apprentice necromancer also appeared that day???"

Chan Gu asked as he ushers his friend to continue his tale. Long Fuzi stopping in the middle of his statements only leave them on the edge. They too were curious to know that thing that happened when the apprentice necromancer appeared in this place.

"Well, it is not exactly mentioned on the record of the book that an apprentice necromancer appeared in the kingdom that day. However, there is also a record saying that something might have triggered that bizarre happening..."

Long Fuzi continued as he waited for his friends' reaction.

"What is it??? Just go on with it! Why do you have to keep on beating around the bush???'

The impatient Yun Xue said after a while he too was being edgy waiting for the information that was about to be relayed to them.

'Alright, alright... So according to what I read, on that very same day, a tragic love story had been born. During that time, it becomes the talk of the city people since one of the parties involved were from one of the well-known clan. That is why most of the details were taken down by that clan since it will damage their reputation one way or another.

"Tragic love story... family feud.... conspiracy and mystery. TCH! Isn't it a little bit cliche??? Besides what does it have anything to do with us?? How it can help us find the apprentice necromancer???"

Mu Lingxi said after she heard the story. The more she listened to Long Fuzi's report, the more she gets confused. She really can't find a way to connect the dots between all these things and the whereabouts of their goal.

"It is related because there is a high chance that the apprentice necromancer is involved in that tragic love story. Since it was actually a love triangle."

"Huh????? So you mean to say the reason why the news about the apprentice necromancer was last heard in this Kingdom is that the apprentice got himself involved with some messy love affair??"

Chan Gu asked in disbelief. Who could have thought that the root of all of this is just a measly little thing called love?

"Yeah, kinda.. though I am not too sure about the details of it. 'Coz as I have said, most of the records regarding that incident that happened 18 years ago were taken down by the clan of one of the parties involved.."

"You mentioned before that it was a tragic love story. Do you know what actually happened back then?? Is it somehow recorded in the library??"

Mu Lingxi suddenly asked. For some reason, she fell drawn to the story.

"Well, what I know is that the girl is supposed to marry the apprentice necromancer but on the night before their wedding, the girl elopes with another man and fled here in the Kingdom of Long. Since the clan on which the man belongs happens to be one of the influential family in the kingdom that time..."

"Ohh.. so the apprentice necromancer followed them here to your kingdom to chase after his runaway bride?? Is that what happened next??"

Fab Lei said as he tried to continue the story narrated by Long Fuzi.

"Yes, it eventually ended that way. The apprentice necromancer caught wind of the news that the love of his life elopes with another man and fled to the Long Kingdom to start their own love story. So he followed them down here. But that it was only after a couple of years since they elope that the apprentice necromancer learned of their whereabouts."

"Ohhh... that is really tragic for the apprentice necromancer. He was already condemned to live his life in seclusion because of his identity and involvement in the forgotten practice of necromancy. Yet even the girl that she trusts and loved te most betrays him and left him for another man."

Mu Lingxi can somehow feel the pain and sorrow that the apprentice necromancer had felt that time. He must be forlorn at that time.

"Yes, that was tragic for him. But it was more tragic for the girl and the man who elopes with her.."

Long Fuzi said and from the way he said it, it seemed that he too was saddened for what happened next.

"Why?? What happened after the apprentice necromancer found then???"
