Chapter 14 Jiang Senyuan’s Tears Leng Muxuan never saw a girl cry in front of him, so indeed, he didn’t how to react. “Hey, don’t  cry? I won’t yell at you anymore. I apologize to you, okay? Please. . . ” He raised his sleeve to wipe the tears, which were incredibly softly. Jiang Senyuan looked like she felt true concern from him. She pointed at her half open mouth. Leng Muxuan became more confused, and he asked, “Mouth? You want me shut up? Okay . . . I’ll shut up. You stop crying.” Jiang Senyuan wanted to give him a slap. How could he be so stupid? She shook her head again and again, pointing at her mouth and then turning to the fish. To make him understand what happened, she finally picked up a fishbone to show him. Then, Leng Muxuan understood her meaning. “A bone is stuck in your throat?” Jiang Senyuan began to nod heavily. But this movement changed the position of the stuck fishbone, which kept stabbing at her throat, and she couldn’t help but tear up again. Jiang Senyuan was always a slap-happy girl, and she seldom showed her weakness. Now her poor appearance made Leng Muxuan feel that he wanted to pamper her. His heart was in agony when he thought that she was in so much pain that she even cried; he moved closer to try to comfort her. “Tell me how to help?” Though his words were helpless, this was his truth. Living in his family, everything was handled by the house maid. Jiang Senyuan felt thankful anyway, because he reminded her to think of a way to solve this problem. She staggered to the kitchen to search for something. Leng Muxuan followed her immediately. “Anything I can do to help? Let me get it for you.” Jiang Senyuan found the vinegar bottle eventually. However, it was empty. Her heart sank again. What could she do next? Leng Muxuan also realized her intention of drinking the vinegar to melt the fish spine. Though he didn’t know if this is a workable solution, he had no opportunity to watch the method in action. He took her hand to go out of the door. But after that, he felt a little awkward and he asked Jiang Senyuan, “By the way, did you bring a wallet?”   Jiang Senyuan wanted to laugh, but the bone stuck there made her unable to. She smiled and nodded at him, meaning that she had brought money. Leng Muxuan felt relaxed and he ran to hail a taxi. It was not that he wanted to spend the girl’s money, but he usually never took a taxi as he had his own driver. He was so worried about her. Maybe in the next life, he would like to try a bus. Soon the car brought them to the hospital. For the first time, Leng Muxuan went to line up for registration, and then, he took the girl to the department of stomatology, until the fish spine was successfully taken out.   When they left the hospital, Leng Muxuan suddenly realized that he missed a chance to take her money and run away. But just now, he didn’t care about that. His mind had only been on the girl’s tearing face—a lovely face, though he didn’t want to agree. Leng Muxuan patted his head regretfully. Later, he asked her, “How did you know this healing would use exactly 200 Yuan? And you only took out that amount?” Jiang Senyuan still felt some discomfort, but she could speak now. “I am not a doctor. How can I know the exact amount? I just took that much out.” “You mean, you have no money left?” Leng Muxuan became frustrated again. At first he wanted to cheat her to give him some money and run away. But now, he had failed. On the way back, Leng Muxuan became quiet, with an annoyed heart. When could he leave this girl? Jiang Senyuan, on the other hand, was in a sweet mood. She didn’t know why she felt so good. But thinking of the scene of Leng Muxuan being so worried about her at home, she couldn’t help but laugh aloud. This was the first time he had cared about her. And this was the first time she saw his tenderness. Maybe he himself didn’t realize how attractive his movement of wiping her tears was.  Her heart was melted by him. They went home with different thoughts. Darkness descended again, bringing them a soft and serene night. Leng Muxuan thought a lot during the night. This was the first time he had a chance to get out. And twice in one day, no less.  But both times, he had missed his chance to run away.
