Jenny was finally relieved when she knew that her daughter’s safety was guaranteed. However, as she slowly regained consciousness, she realized that she was lying in a man’s arms.

Jenny Braun, the youngest and prettiest columnists of Wall Street felt ashamed when she recalled how she used to criticize Zhou Qingfeng. Here she was begging him, a man who had recently turned eighteen, to stay with her.

She had been ignoring her own safety in exchange for her daughter’s safety. She did not understand why she gave up all her pride and insisted on following Zhou Qingfeng. She tried to follow him even when the building was on fire yesterday.

“Let’s go and have breakfast then, shall we?” Jenny stood up and tried to leave. Zhou Qingfeng was staring at her like he was going to eat her.

“Only for a distance of five meters? That distance is way too short!” Zhou Qingfeng realized that it was actually an improved life detecting device. It was normally used to identify the location of a human heartbeat via its low-frequency electromagnetic field.

In the past, the device was used for rescue operations during a tragedy. It used to be big. However, the technology in 2030 allowed it to be stored in a pocket.

The dynamic perception device could be connected to the armband computer on Zhou Qingfeng’s wrist, and its results would be displayed on the screen of the armband computer. Therefore, the device would definitely come in handy if he were to face any trouble in the future.

Other than the dynamic perception device, Zhou Qingfeng also got himself a 40-mm six-shot revolver-type grenade launcher. The model of it was unknown, but it used non-lethal tear gas as bullets. Ivan used it to defeat Zhou Qingfeng in their first organized ambush.

Zhou Qingfeng took several bags of supplies back to the mobile command vehicle after going back and forth the building several times. Jenny Braun did not choose to hide inside the vehicle. Instead, she kept following him as she tried her best to prove her worth.

“Are you comparing me to the women from Asia?” Jenny talked to him while watching his back. “I do believe that there’s quite a difference between women from the east and the west. “You’re right,” Zhou Qingfeng did not know if he should like a girl who relied on him completely or a girl who pursued individuality and independence. After careful thought, he finally decided that sticking with a strong woman was much better during the cataclysm. Only a peaceful era would allow the existence of a weak lady.
