Chapter 291 Nuclear Battery
Five hundred yards was equivalent to four hundred and fifty meters. An adult would be hardly visible at such a distance, the small glass bottle does not even deserve a mention. The worst thing was, it was night time. Even an ordinary night vision scope would not able to work perfectly.
Under such situations, only the professional, advanced night vision scope used by Ellie and Eileen would work. They managed to extend the contest to the point where the equipment would be the thing that decides the outcome instead of skills.
“Your sniper is really good. But since we both hit ten bottles, we shall call it a draw.” Jose yawned and said, “Alright, I'm a little tired, I'm gonna rest. Have fun, you youngsters.”
Jose was prepared to leave with the guards around him. Clearly, he realized the risk. He did not want to continue with the contest. However, as soon as they started to move, DogMeat appeared and stood in front of them, showing its sharp teeth and growling at them.
DogMeat's roar was a great deterrent. Two of the guards immediately stood in front of Jose and the rest took cover. They were all staring at DogMeat. Jose promptly shouted, “Mr. Hugo, please move your dog! Otherwise, my people are going to kill it.”
“I suggest you don't make such stupid commands. That's just gonna hurt you.” Zhou Qingfeng slowly walked down from the stage calmly and steadily.
As the landlord of Guantanamo, General Federo was going to mediate but Mirta stopped him. She was smart; she was planning to let them fight. She whispered to her husband, “Don't stop them.”
Jose, blocked by DogMeat, snapped, “Victor Hugo, are you trying to pick a fight?”
“I thought we had an agreement where the loser would need to give out something?” Zhou Qingfeng said coldly, “Old fellow, do you have amnesia? Give me my reward.”
“There's no winner or loser and there's no reward for you.”
“Then we'll run another round to decide the winner. Don't act shamelessly in front of me. Do you think you can run? You're the one who started this and you're not gonna get away from this.”
Jose thought that he had already compromised with this aggressive, young man. He was from the strongest organization in Florida and not someone who would give in so easily.
“Victor Hugo, remember that you were asking for our cooperation.” Jose yelled at Zhou Qingfeng, “I could reject your suggestion and the Polarlys Legion is not going to get anything from us by then!”
“Who do you think you are? I could talk to somebody else from your organization,” Zhou Qingfeng was not going giving in too. He said fiercely, “Give up that nuclear battery you placed your bet with. Otherwise, you're not leaving today.”
As Zhou Qingfeng spoke, he walked towards Jose. As soon as Zhou Qingfeng came closer to Jose, the two 190cm tall guards stepped out. One of them blocked Zhou Qingfeng's way and said, “Mr. Hugo, you're getting too close to Commander Jose. Please step back before we hurt you.”
Jose stood behind the guards and yelled at Zhou Qingfeng, “Hey Hugo! Aren't you a little rude to the elderly? I'm already being as polite as I can. Now, back off. Don't act like a gangster here. We're not those underground organizations. You need to stop acting like a child.”
The tension in the atmosphere was even worse than during the contest. The people around the shooting range were stunned by the scene. Everyone had the same thought, What the hell is going on? Isn't this supposed to be a game that was just for fun? Why are they getting so serious?
Even General Federo who was stopped by Mirta could not hold it in anymore, “We can't let this happen, this is our place. We need to stop them.”
When Mirta saw Federo rushing out again, she quickly grabbed his arm and shouted in a low voice, “Who are you going to help? You don't wanna mess with both of them. Don't you realize how determined Victor Hugo was to get that nuclear battery? He knew Jose was going to make a scene. It doesn't matter if Zhou Qingfeng wins or loses, he is going to get the nuclear battery. If you want to get involved, go ahead.”
Meanwhile, Zhou Qingfeng was standing in front of the burly guard. He raised his head and said in a low voice, “Back off, idiot. You don't want to die.”
“Sir, I have a dozen men behind me but you're all alone. I think if someone needs to back off, it wouldn't be me.”
The 190cm tall guard stepped forward. He was trying to intimidate Zhou Qingfeng.
“What a shame!” Zhou Qingfeng was ready to fight and he was not going to show any mercy. He pushed the huge and burly guard in front of him with both hands. Following that, the guard was kicked in the stomach. With the power of five times the ordinary person, the guard was sent off like a football.
The guard was sent off with a loud bang and knocked into the other guards. The rest of the guards did not see it coming; nearly all of them fell to the ground.
As soon as Zhou Qingfeng moved, one of the two guards who was nearer to Zhou Qingfeng pulled out a pistol. He was trying to stop this hot-tempered young man in front of him. However, the moment he pulled out the pistol, Zhou Qingfeng had already grabbed his shoulders and kneed him in the waist.
The knee strikes almost killed the second guard. Before the guard could make any noise, Zhou Qingfeng grabbed him and threw him out too. The second guard was sent off and knocked the rest of the guards like the previous one did.
Right after Zhou Qingfeng's sneak attack, Jose's guards quickly reacted to the chaos. One of the guards pulled out a pistol. As he was going to pull the trigger, a gun went off from far away. A bullet went straight through the guard's arm.
Eileen was the one who fired. She pulled the bolt and a hot shell dropped out of the magazine. Following that, another bullet was reloaded. Meanwhile, Ellie pulled out an MP7A1 and shouted to Li Cha and the rest of the guards, “Don't move! You'll be shot if you move.”
The guards around Jose started to panic because while Zhou Qingfeng was attacking, DogMeat took the chance and broke into the cover. DogMeat immediately rushed towards Jose and brought him to the ground. With sharp teeth on Jose's head, DogMeat could kill him at any moment!
“That's enough, stop it!” Mirta immediately stepped out when she saw the outcome. In order to make both sides happy, she ran towards Zhou Qingfeng and stopped him. “Mr. Hugo, please don't hurt General Jose, alright? This is not gonna be good for anyone.”
Zhou Qingfeng walked towards Jose, looked at the old man who was under DogMeat, and said, “Old fellow, you've overestimated your power. Now give me that battery, it belongs to me.”
The representative of the strongest organization in Florida was sitting on the ground and realized that he was in trouble. He quickly grabbed the nuclear battery out of his pocket and handed it to Zhou Qingfeng.
The battery was around the size of a palm - two to three centimeters thick and pretty heavy. Its application and specifications were stated on the inscription on its surface. After Zhou Qingfeng received the battery, he smiled.
“Thank you, Mr. Jose. Thanks for the battery, I really like it. Oh right, don't forget about the ten thousand gold coins. Just give them to Mrs. Mirta.”
Zhou Qingfeng turned around and looked at the people in the open-air cinema and shouted, “Everyone, remember what I said about the people who are kissing me tonight? What are you waiting for? Come on, baby! Tonight is going to be a fun night, I'm gonna break my record!”
