It had only been twenty minutes but the main force of the fleet tank landing ship surrendered near the port. To be precise, a little, white flag appeared and this ten thousand ton warship dropped the anchor and stopped moving.
The Cubans at the port were so disappointed when they saw the scene. Words could not explain their feelings. Many Cubans started to cry at the port.
On the other hand, the Bahamians were so happy they could not stop smiling. They were talking about it non-stop and there were even people who spread the news to the entire Nassau. They brought more people to look at how the Cubans struggled.
However, the Cubans will not give up so easily. There were still thousands of armed soldiers in Nassau, especially when Katrina only has five hundred men. Even with the additional one hundred mercenaries as cannon fodders, the difference was huge.
Meanwhile at Guantanamo, Santos was already drunk and he did not know anything about his fleet. He was dreaming about his fleet arriving at the Abaco Island and defeating the Polarlys Legion. By then, he would get the nuclear-powered ship, Polarlys, tons of resource, and finally, he could kill his son's murderer.
General Santos drank a few bottles of rum. He was drunk and started to hallucinate. He could hear the horn of victory and people cheering after the battle. He thumped the table and stood up, walked out of the room and came to Zhou Qingfeng.
Zhou Qingfeng had been blocking Santos the entire day. The location he was at right now had became famous in Guantanamo. There was a large parasol next to him and he was surrounded by several beach chairs and women in bikinis.
General Santos came to Zhou Qingfeng with a bottle of rum in his hand. He said proudly, “Victor Hugo, the Polarlys Legion is done. My fleet is already on the way to the Abaco Island. Imagine, the resources you got from Enclave are going to be mine.”
Zhou Qingfeng gave him a look of disdain and remained silent. Instead, the women around him were shocked. Also, there were quite a few guards from the Alliance. They were all confused by Santos' words. However, looking at the confident Santos, it seemed like something major had happened.
Santos had drunk a lot and he was a little confused. He turned and shouted to the other Cubans, “Your guy: he's good at duel, huh? It's useless! Times have changed, the Western era is over. Can a cowboy with two revolvers rule the world? You're f*cking kidding me!”
“I have a tank landing ship called the Bunker Hill. It'll carry more than a dozen tanks, another smaller landing ship, and hundreds of soldiers in one go. The two cannons on it could bombard the beach. Its Phalanx Close-in Weapon System could destroy aircraft and missiles.”
“Do you still think that this brat would be victorious? He's just a clown, showing off some funny and ridiculous moves. In fact, he's not any better than me! He's going to be a loser; he's going to lose everything!”
Santos was releasing the stress and anger that had developed over the past few days. When he saw more people coming, he started to speak even louder. The way Santos performed was pretty effective. The people who listened to him were intimidated.
If it was true that Santos defeated the Polarlys Legion, food and resources in the future will be cut. The defence line of the Alliance that had been rebuilt would be destroyed by the Liberation Front again. The Cubans who stayed in Guantanamo were going to be losers and they were going to be slaves to the Liberation Front.
As it was a major matter that would have had huge consequences, Mirta quickly came to see what had happened. When she arrived, she heard Santos shouting, “Surrender! All of you! Surrender now and you might be spared. It'll be too late when the soldiers of the Liberation Front are here.”
“It's already been confirmed, our fleet defeated the Polarlys Legion and landed on the Abaco Island. I'll be ten times stronger by then. It's not too late to surrender now. Otherwise, you're going to regret!”
Mirta frowned when she heard what Santos said. The drunk Santos was dancing happily like he had already won the battle. She was shocked. She walked towards Zhou Qingfeng and asked, “What's going on?”
Zhou Qingfeng shrugged his shoulders and said, “I have no idea.”
“Did you ask about the situation in the Abaco Island?”
“Why should I ask? My men are fighting and I should trust them. It'll only make it more difficult for them if I call them right now.”
“Aren't you worried?”
“Not really.” Zhou Qingfeng laid down on the beach chair without any facial expression. He acted disinterested in the results of the battle, “I've done what I'm supposed to do. There's nothing to do with me even if my men lost.”
“You….” Mirta thought Zhou Qingfeng was way too calm. She quickly ordered her guards, “Contact the people we sent to Nassau. I wanna find out what's actually going on.”
As Mirta's guards verified the information, the people around were worried because even Mirta was serious. For them, the fact that Santos was already drinking, celebrating, and messing around meant that what Santos said might be true. Something bad had happened.
“Oh dear Mirta, you even sent people to Nassau? Unfortunately, your man is going to tell you a bad news. You're defeated and I've won this battle!”
“Mirta, do you know how many people out there were fascinated by you? You're the soldiers' favorite. They love to look at your picture while masturbating. It's so disappointing that you married that idiot, Federo. Wait for me, when my soldiers are here, I'll save you from Federo.”
“And you, Chinese kid, you're going to be dead! I'm gonna prove everyone that being good at duel is nothing. The real, strong men will win in a real battle, on the battlefield.”
Santos and his men were the only ones who were happy; the rest of the people were depressed. Hundred of people just silently stared at Santos while he danced and cheered. After around thirty minutes, the man who went to verify the information came back. He whispered to Mirta.
“What?” Mirta was astonished and looked at the man.
The man was embarrassed by Mirta. He repeated himself. The people around were paranoid. They stayed as quiet as possible so they could hear the man.
After the confirmation, Mirta's face expression changed. She looked at the drunk Santos and then stared at Zhou Qingfeng. After a few moments, she smiled and said, “Congratulations, Mr. Hugo. Maybe we'll consider a celebration for you.”
After Mirta finished talking, she glared at Santos and left.
The people around were confused and panicked; they could not wait to know the truth. Immediately, people started to discuss. They were analyzing the words Mirta said when she left.
“Was that a hint?”
“Is that real? The Polarlys Legion is done?”
“Why did Ms. Mirta say, a celebration? A celebration for loss?”
As everyone talked about it, one of Santos' guard came out of the room and whispered to Santos. Santos' face immediately turned pale. Following that, he snapped, “Say that again!”
The man repeated with his eyes on Zhou Qingfeng; they were filled with terror.
Once the guard repeated, Santos instantly regained consciousness. He grabbed the guard by his shoulders and shook him, “You're lying. There's no way that my strongest fleet would surrender. It's impossible!”
Oh…… Finally, the people around received the important information. At this moment, Zhou Qingfeng stood up. He put his arms around the women with bikinis and was going to leave. Santos' fleet surrendered; there was no reason for him to stay anymore.
As Zhou Qingfeng collected the beach chairs, he said, “Hey, Santos. It was a great show. I appreciate the effort you put in to make me laugh!”
