Chapter 177        Surround and Seize

Richard was a member of the Skull and Bones Central Intelligence Agency. Americans were familiar with the CIA and the FBI. Skull and Bones wanted to establish an intelligence agency immediately after they founded the organization. However, how were they supposed to set up an intelligence agency?

No one actually knew!

When Richard joined Skull and Bones, the others asked him if he was good at anything. He claimed that he had good interpersonal skills and he was good at communicating with people. He also knew how to capture information and details from conversations. The others thought that he was extremely powerful after what he had said and they transferred him to the intelligence agency.

In fact, Richard was only an insurance salesman. He was actually only in the same field as David Lawrence.

When he joined the intelligence agency as a detective, he felt that his new job was much better than selling insurances. However, he was shocked when he knew what his actual work was about.

It turned out that as a detective of the Skull and Bones Central Intelligence Agency, he was required to run around in the chaotic world. It was much more terrible than his previous job! When he was selling insurances, at most, all he’ll get is a scolding. However, now, he might lose his life at any time if he were to make any careless mistakes.

Zhou Qingfeng had chased after Richard from some time ago. He was on the verge of death when he was chased by Zhou Qingfeng and he will be dead for sure if Zhou Qingfeng was able to successfully capture him. He was lucky enough to escape, but he soon experienced a deadly explosion that nearly cost him his life. He felt that Manhattan was too dangerous and as a result, he applied for a transfer to Queens.

Meanwhile, Fernando Rethno, one of the Big Fives of Skull and Bones from Queens, requested for help from the Central Intelligence Agency to retrieve the crew of the Polarlys. As the Polarlys was well-facilitated, he wanted to turn this ship into his base camp.

However, there were two nuclear reactors underneath this base camp and people on the ship had all run away. Fernando Rethno did not know much about the reactor, hence he did not dare to simply touch those two reactors. He knew that he would be dead instantly if something went wrong with the reactor.

After about ten days of the re-capturing operation, some crew members of the Polarlys had been recaptured. Some of them had also returned as they realized that they could not survive in the harsh world outside. The number of people was barely enough to operate the Polarlys. However, after the disappearance of their captain, the most important member of the ship, Allen Derrick, the chief mate, had gone missing.

Fernando Rethno had set a huge bounty to try to get the old Allen back. Meanwhile, Richard, who was transferred to Queens, had been working extremely hard for the bounty.

"Alright, everyone! According to our clues, Allen should be in this bar. Group A, now go in from the door and search everyone in the bar one by one. Group B, go to the back door and don’t allow anyone to leave. Group C and D, set up some roadblocks on the nearby streets just in case. I’ll treat all of you some drinks if we manage to capture this old man."

Richard was able to boost the morale of his team with his promise as being able to drink a glass of beer in their current situation was indeed a luxury. The personnel of the central intelligence agency suddenly became desperate like they were a herd of wolves. They opened the door of the blues bar and rushed into it with rifles in their hands.

“Freeze, hands up!” The tramps in the bar were shocked. “We’ll shoot anyone who dares to move.”

Even the owner of the bar was frightened when he saw the armed personnels breaking into his bar. After his subordinates finished searching the bar, Richard then slowly entered the bar.

However, Richard frowned after his subordinates reported to him that they did not discover anything. He then took out a photo of Allen and showed it to the owner, “Have you seen this person before?”

The owner took a close look at the photo before shaking his head. The current Allen, who has now lost his wits, was a completely different man compared to the previous him who used to be the chief mate of the ship.

Could it be that we got the wrong clue? Richard then asked, “Is there anyone who just left this place?”

“There’s a young man who just left this place and he brought an old man with him,” the owner replied.

Richard instantly felt anxious and he continued asking, “Where did they go?”

“They went to the toilet.”

Richard immediately ordered his men to search the toilet but there was no one in the toilet. However, there was a staircase beside the toilet. He hurriedly gave out an order to his subordinates, “Chase them!”

At that instant, Zhou Qingfeng was leading the old Allen to the top of the building. However, the old Allen had not eaten anything for several days. Moreover, his leg was injured and this made him extremely slow

When they arrived at the top of the building, Zhou Qingfeng received a message from Little Rooney, “Mr. Hugo, the members of Skull and Bones have surrounded your building from the south, west and east sides of the streets. There are some members on the north side of the building as well, but the number of people is lesser compared to the other sides.”

If Zhou Qingfeng was there all by himself, he could just launch a counterattack. With Butcher’s cover, that bunch of rookies will not be able to stop him. However, he was now bringing the weak, old Allen with him. The old man was extremely crucial for the nuclear-powered ship. They will have to make sure of his safety as their chances of living through the nuclear disaster were closely related to him.

"We have to jump over," Zhou Qingfeng glanced at the seventh floor of the bar. The building opposite was about seven or eight meters lower but the distance between the two buildings was more than four to five meters.

The old Allen, too, had heard the hurried footsteps coming from downstairs. He leaned against the wall and glanced at the opposite building before shaking his head and said, “There’s no way I could make it.”

However, Zhou Qingfeng did not bother. He pulled out an M67 grenade from his waist, pulled a string out of the ring and put in on its threshold, “Butcher, if this grenade can’t stop these hyenas, then just feed them some bullets.”

“Understood.”

Butcher was lying prone on the top of another building which was several meters away Zhou Qingfeng and he was holding a 7.62mm M240B machine gun in his hand. This type of machine gun was much heavier than an M249, but in return, it provided stronger firepower.

After setting up the grenade trap, Zhou Qingfeng lifted the old Allen up. The old man was extremely light now after he had been starving for several days, and with only around one point seven meters in height, he would only weigh forty kilograms at most. Zhou Qingfeng then took a run-up, before finally taking a huge leap forward.

The ground that was made of concrete could not withstand the explosive power of Zhou Qingfeng's stomp and it cracked. In just the blink of an eye, Zhou Qingfeng's body was already gliding towards the other building.

At that moment, the iron door on the top of the building was opened and an armed personnel rushed into the scene with a flashlight. At first glance, he saw Zhou Qingfeng leaping. He then subconsciously screamed, Stand still! as he felt that he had tripped over something.

The armed personnel pointed his flashlight at the ground and saw that the safety ring of a grenade had just been pulled out. He screamed “Grenade!”, but as he turned around he could not help but yell angrily, “F*ck! Get out of my way!”

Kaboom!!

The explosion of the grenade did not give out too much flames, but the sound could be heard from miles away. Richard suddenly broke out in cold sweat after he saw several corpses and wounded personnel rolling down from the stairs.

“Go! Go! Go! They only have one grenade with them. We’ll make a fortune as long as we can capture the target. Don’t tell me that you guys really enjoy sleeping on the side of the road? Or perhaps you want to get fired?” Richard lifted his pistol as he urged for his subordinates to move forward.

However, after driving a few men, who did not fear death, out of the room, half of the M240B magazine, which was equipped with an infrared night-vision device, was instantly sprayed upon them. Not only had Butcher killed Richard’s men, he had also completely destroyed the building’s iron gates and corridors.

No one was willing to go out anymore. Richard could only order his men to get rid of the machine gun before he trudged his way up to the top of the building. As he walked to the edge of the building where Zhou Qingfeng leaped to the other building, he saw a torch on the street which was more than 20 meters away from him. A young man was leading an old man as they quickly walked past the torch.

Just as they walked past the torch, the young man turned his head around and glanced at his surroundings. It seemed like he was trying to make sure that no one was tailing him. At that very instant, Richard suddenly felt that his heart had been penetrated by a sword and it almost stopped beating. He screamed, “It’s Victor Hugo! The devil has returned to claim our lives!”
