Meanwhile, Aunty Zhang was sitting in Zhou Qingfeng’s room. She was regretting what she told Zhou Qingfeng, and her brain was filled with words like ‘I shouldn’t have told him….’ or ‘I’m such a bad lady’. Beside Aunty Zhang, there were two police officers watching over her.
Aunty Zhang sighed in regret. She looked after Zhou Qingfeng when he was still young. However, due to the fact that the people in Tianyang City were poor, and because of a whole lot issues, they were not that close. Aunty Zhang knew Zhou Qingfeng was adopted, but he was a good and clever boy, which was why she tried to leave hints of warning for Zhou Qingfeng through the phone.
The other reason was because Fang Ruhu was just a b*stard. As a poor citizen, Aunty Zhang was not happy with the government. She had been looking for chances to set Fang Ruhu up, just to release the anger that she kept inside.
I’m not sure if Zhou Qingfeng got what I meant.
Meanwhile, around ten police officers lay in wait for an ambush around the apartment. It appeared peaceful and quiet, but in fact, there was a hidden trap. They were waiting for Zhou Qingfeng to fall into the snare.
Opposite Zhou Qingfeng’s unit, Guo Jiaming sat on a small bench and provided all the information he had at hand. Fang Ruhu, with his face black as charcoal, was sitting next to him.
“My wife came back very late last night. I thought she didn’t look good, so I asked what happened. She didn’t say anything and just went straight to bad. Her pants was wet last night, so I suspect that she hooked up with that brad next door.
“That Zhou next door is an as*h*le, very aggressive. The other day I scolded my wife, and he came and kicked my house’s door. My door is broken now. Don’t you think he’s an as*h*le?
“My wife tested as pregnant this month. It must be from that brat. Otherwise, why would he pay the money? What a shame, I’m being cheated on!
“Even so, I never thought of divorce. I will endure all the pain because I love my wife. I just wanna live a normal life. To be honest, I have no idea how and when they hooked up. If anything bad happens, it must be that Zhou’s fault. That brat is so arrogant and aggressive, he must be arrested.”
Fang Ruhu listened to Guo Jiaming complain, his face set with contempt. However, as he heard the word ‘money’, he immediately asked, “What about the money? Where is it now?”
“It…. It...” Guo Jiaming stammered as Fang Ruhu mentioned money. He hesitated for a while, before saying, “It’s with me.”
“Get it out and let me take a look.” Fang Ruhu commanded.
Guo Jiaming handed the stack of cash to Fang Ruhu. The fierce Tiger Fang looked at the cash, and he was shocked. All of a sudden, he stood and threw the cash on the floor. He stomped on the floor and said angrily, “He’s the one, he must be the one. I gave my brother these bills. They have the marks I drew on them.”
The reason why Fang Ruhu appeared at the apartment was because of the reminder from the other police officer. In fact, Aunty Zhang was there to talk to Zhou Qingfeng, and she even brought a few photos of women for Zhou Qingfeng to look at. She really wanted to introduce him to some girls. She did not expect that she would bump into those cops.
The officers had seen Aunty Zhang in the police station earlier, and they found out from Aunty Zhang that Zhou Qingfeng was the one who asked her to take care of Yuan Mei. The news soon reached Fang Ruhu. He immediately brought all his men and went to Zhou Qingfeng’s house. They ambushed the apartment right after they investigated and understood the situation.
Fang Ruhu’s men stationed themselves on the streets, and in every corner and floor of the building. Fang Ruhu himself waited inside Zhou Qingfeng’s room to trap him. At the same time, he was digging for more information from Guo Jiaming.
Guo Jiaming tried to dodge as he saw the mad cop’s rage in front of him. He moved his body but was still kicked by Fang Ruhu, who was releasing his anger. He fell onto the ground and screamed.
Once Fang Ruhu confirmed that Zhou Qingfeng was related to his brother’s absence, he immediately used his power to request Zhou Qingfeng’s location through his phone from the telecommunication service. Fang Ruhu was shocked by the result. It turned out that Zhou Qingfeng was at his own house.
“What is that brat doing at my house?” Fang Ruhu felt a shiver run up of his spine. He quickly sent somebody to his house to catch Zhou Qingfeng. Unfortunately, the reply he received was this: “Sir, your house was robbed. The safe was opened and emptied.”
What the f*ck! There are some valuable items in my safe.
Fang Ruhu turned instantly enraged, and his eyes became red. He jumped and scolded, “Zhou Qingfeng, you’re such a daredevil! F*cking trying to mess with me?”
Arrest him! He needs to be arrested!
Fang Ruhu continued to track Zhou Qingfeng. However, he realized Zhou Qingfeng turned off his phone after a while. It seemed like Zhou Qingfeng even took the battery out.
In fact, Zhou Qingfeng already arrived near his apartment. He kept the keen instincts that he honed in Wasteland. It allowed him to recognize easily whether there lay any hidden trap. He immediately disconnected his mobile phone, but he did not leave the apartment.
Zhou Qingfeng knew the people who hid around the apartment were police. However, Zhou Qingfeng believed that he did not leave any evidence of his murder, so it would not be easy for him to be convicted by law.
Unfortunately, it was the commissioner who was looking for trouble, so his situation became a lot tougher. It would be extremely easy for Fang Ruhu to get rid of Zhou Qingfeng. There were a lot of ways and excuses to make Zhou Qingfeng disappear without any reason.
Zhou Qingfeng hid around his apartment. Soon, he saw Fang Ruhu hurriedly come out of the apartment. Zhou Qingfeng was hiding behind a tree and watching his movements.
There were more than ten police offices. Most of them remained and waited to capture Zhou Qingfeng. Fang Ruhu only brought the one he trusted the most. He commanded, “Bring my car here, I’m going to get in contact with the city council leader, get more men to arrest this brat.”
Fang Ruhu knew that Zhou Qingfeng might have already found out about his plans. The number of people he currently had were definitely not enough to deal with Zhou Qingfeng. He could only ask for more reinforcements. However, it would not be possible to get them legally, since he wanted to arrest Zhou Qingfeng based only on suspicions. There was no single actual evidence.
On the other hand, the illegal way was just what Fang Ruhu needed to settle everything in person. He contacted his senior to get more people. He thought that he should first catch Zhou Qingfeng and worry about the other issues later. It was only eight o’clock at night; it was a good time to visit his senior. However, money was necessary for the entire process.
Bribing was a learned skill. Fang Ruhu could not directly go to the senior’s house; he could only go to the senior’s mistress’ house. As his subordinate arrived with a car, he got into the vehicle and stated the address. He then started to call his senior. He could not tell directly through the phone, so he needed to make it discrete. He asked whether the senior was free, then said that he was going to report to the senior about work.
As Fang Ruhu rode the car and headed toward the senior’s mistress’ house, an old Benz pickup followed. Zhou Qingfeng did not even change the United States car plate. It ran on the road in the dark, following Fang Ruhu.
