"Hey, Rhonytenchou's not in the kitchen either!" said Sez while poking out his face from the lounge.

Well then, where might Rhonya be now. I searched for voices, so she doesn't seem to be in Shize's room.

If any, I might know where she would be.

I quickly headed towards my room. The second room by the corridor. The room is lit by the sunlight passing through the opened curtains. My room which is filled with walls of bookshelves. There was Rhonya. She was sitting in a proper position on a sofa big enough for an adult to lie on the side while reading a book.

Rhonya looked at me and gave a smile. The sunlight shined down on her, and her smile was none other than dazzling to my eyes.

"Welcome, Sensan"

Maybe she said so due to habit. Or maybe due to her current fuzzy condition.

"….This is not in Café Mattari, but my room you know"

"Ah, that's right" while Rhonya closed the book she was reading.

"Welcome home, Sensan. Please excuse me for barging in without permission"

"It's fine. What are you reading?" as I reply so, and sat down beside her.

It feels slightly weird to have Rhonya in my room.

"The same book as the one you gave me last time. I was occupied and could not finish it yet…"

"It's fine to read it"

"I will read it later on"

"That so"

Rhonya gave the book back to me while talking in a gentle tone. Even though I wouldn't mind her reading it here right now.

The silence continued, and it felt like time just passed by slowly.

Thinking back, Shize might have guessed that Rhonya is in my room. Thinking about the room where Rhonya might be in this mansion, one could easily deduce it would either be the kitchen or somewhere with plenty of books like my room.

"There is so many books here-"as Rhonya nonchalantly spoke out.

"Well, yeah"

Thus the silence continued again. I thought of thinking up a topic, but the identity of the elf and Rhonya was the only things that filled my mind. While on the other hand, Rhonya was peacefully gazing at the bookshelves. It seems she doesn't feel awkward about this silence.

"How are you faring?"

"I still feel light and fluffy"

"It's like you're in a drunk state then….. It smelled like the Rotos, did they come over?"

"Yes. They brought fruits, and went back to the forest again"

"I see"

The conversation ended, and I had to find another topic to talk about.

"Since you're going to be here for some time, you can get any books you want to read from here"

"Thank you very much"

I stood up and head towards one of the bookshelf and took out a book.

It was a very thick book writing about the achievements of the hero, Orphias.

"Oh, I have read that book once before"

I wonder what kind of relationship she has with the hero Orphias. I am currently in a bind if I should nonchalantly ask about it. What will happen if I do ask her about it?

A puzzle to solve Rhonya's identity. What if I reach the answer, and she runs away. As I keep on hesitating, in the end I could not ask about it and returned the book back to its place. Then I took another book, and once again sat beside Rhonya.

"The novel I talked about last time. I'll lend it to you"

"Waa, thank you very much"

Rhonya's eyes sparkled, and immediately started opening up the book to read. Her straightened back, beautiful hands which flipped the pages of the book, and the shining silver hair. Her blue eyes which followed the letters in the book, and her silver eyelashes which moved along. As I looked towards her, she too looked to me. I quickly avoided my gaze.

"It's alright, continue reading"

Shize did tell me to bring her over to his room later on, but he should still be in the shower. Then there's nothing wrong with her being here a while longer.

"Thank you very much. Sensan's room is very nice. The sunlight is perfect, and it's warm here"

I'm sure she would feel warm after bathing in the sunlight. Rhonya narrowed her eyes whilst feeling sleepy. I silently looked over her. She gradually couldn't resist the sleepiness, closed her eyes, leaned back on the sofa while putting down the book on her lap and leaned her head onto my left shoulder.

Thump, my heart skipped a beat.

"Just lie down"

As if she could hear the voice in my heart, Rhonya nonchalantly lied down. I then started patting her hair as if combing it.

"….Yesterday, I met with my brother who I have not met recently"

Rhonya suddenly started talking about her brother. While playing with her hair with the tips of my fingers, I silently listened to her story.

"I…. I did something wrong, so I got scolded"

"That so…"

"And I am always scolded…. Always…" Her profile showed a painful expression.

"Just once would be fine, I wanted to live together with a kind older brother…" Tears flowed down from Rhonya's face. But she did not wail or sob.

As if the side effects of the recovery magic acted up, Rhonya quickly fell asleep.

"…Rhonya" as I called out her name and wipe off her tears. I'm sure my voice couldn't reach her.

"I don't want to become your brother"

I thought I was fine with any kind of relationship. Be it friends, or be it like a close family member. But I didn't want to become your brother. I'm sure that's because- I still have feelings of hoping to be your lover.

While listening to her gentle sleeping breathes, I gently pat her face with my fingertips.

What an idiot I was. To think that I wanted to couple you up with Shize, but now I yearn for you.

My heart was the most peaceful with you by my side.

And having a matching hobby that we can share about was the most fun I could have.

You were the first person I wanted to gift a present to. And I wanted more time to be alone with you.

I harbored feelings of more than friends for you.

"….You, cried in front of me, again…"

Thus was the second time Rhonya unconsciously poured out her sorrows.

I held Rhonya's hair in my hand, gave a kiss on it with a small lingering feeling in my heart. Then, I patted her on the head to wash away her sadness.

I want to protect Rhonya with everything I have. And I wouldn't mind making an enemy out of the elven royalty to do so.

If I would ever meet with her brother who made her so sad, I will never hold back. As so I strongly resolved.

I suddenly realized there were Rotos in front of me. Their faces reddened while holding onto some fruits, and it seems they saw how I kissed Rhonya's hair.

It makes me embarrassed of how focused I was of Rhonya.

"A secret, okay" I put my index finger on my mouth. The Rotos followed suit and made a 'sssh' gesture. I'm glad I bought their favor beforehand.

Relieved, I rest by transforming back to my beast form. Just then as if she felt presence of magic, Rhonya woke up.

"Fuwaaa… Mofumofu" Rhonya who was sleep talking buried her face as soon as she saw my tail.

"….Wait up"

"It smells like greenery that basked in the sunlight"

"Greenery?"

Do I smell like that? To ascertain myself, I smelled my wrist. But I could not discern any scent on it.

The Rotos who brought the fruits placed it down on the floor, and started to gather nearby my tail.

"Sensan, you smell like the gentle greenery"

"That so…"

While I pat her head with my right hand, Rhonya smiled as if it felt good. I was lured into her smile and made a smile too.

"Oh right, I was able to touch Shize-san's mane"

"…Hmmmmh"

As she reported her achievements, the smile that was on my face faded. To hide the change in expression on my face, I slightly raised my mouth.

My feelings still lingers within my heart.

"It was very fluffy…"

"Good for you then…"

"But after, it seems like I got him mad at me"

"What did you say to make him so?" I ask while playing with her hair.

"I asked the reason why he did so much for me"

"….Ah-"

It was expected that killed the mood.

It was to be expected to want to help someone dear to oneself. Even if Shize looks like that, he cherishes the bonds that he has. Like the comrades in the settlement, and the Baron as well. Hence it's to be expected that he would want to protect Rhonya.

"He did not answer me and made it my homework instead. And to stay here until I get the answer… I wonder what the correct answer is?"

"If I help you answer that, I'll get scolded. Think about it yourself"

"Hnng-…. I'm still fuzzy…. And can't properly think"

The answer is simple.
