Chapter 1354: Chapter 1326: The King Meets the King! Chapter 1354: Chapter 1326: The King Meets the King! “Heh, I've given you nowhere near as much as you've given me,” Mrs. Kiara retorted, not one to be outdone.
“Even so, it doesn't compare to the 'profound' experience you've given me.”
After a few sentences of probing, they had both fully grasped each other's limits, followed by a fierce battle of gazes.
Seen through the eyes of the onlooking Edward Farmbright, this turned into…
“Heartbreaking! When did you two become so close!” he exclaimed.
This was unfair! He was the Eldest Brother, after all. Did they have to ignore him so completely?
“Idiot,” Kiara and James Norris said in unison, then glanced at each other tacitly, reverting back to their normal selves and discussing the experiment.
“I think this area could be improved like this…”
“Mmm, that makes sense,” Norris agreed.
Watching the two maintain a seemingly calm exterior while sensing the undercurrents beneath, Edward couldn't help but sigh at their obvious rapport.
But, he was the Eldest Brother!
In recent times, besides being busy with work and intermittently testing each other with Norris, Kiara's main focus was still on Ava Vincent.
Having nearly stabilized Ava's emotions and fortified her psychological defenses, Kiara sensed it was time. She had Ava contact Galen. After not seeing each other for nearly a month, Galen was ecstatic to receive Ava's call and immediately rushed to Linville to see her.
However, he was shocked upon seeing Ava again.
Gone was the haze in Ava's eyes from before; the two had arranged to meet on the first floor of the City District Coffee Shop.
“Ava, you… why are you dressed like that?” Galen asked, taken aback at her sharp career attire, which exuded an aura quite different from before.
Ava glanced up at the Second Floor, where near the stairs in the coffee shop's open hall, a beautiful lady was intently feeding the cute baby on the chair beside her, the matching beauty marks on their foreheads particularly eye-catching.
Noticing Ava's gaze, Kiara looked down for a moment and nodded at Ava, then continued feeding the cute baby with concentration.
That brief glance filled Ava with immense motivation, remembering the psychological coaching Kiara had provided over the past month. She looked at the man before her, her lips curving in a slight smile.
“Ava?” Not getting an immediate response, Galen pressed on, feeling anxious about the determined look in her eyes.
“What, don't you think I look good dressed like this?” she asked.
“Good– ” Galen started, choking back a compliment as he recalled his pua training, and dishonestly remarked, “It's mediocre at best, barely passable to look at.”
However, Ava's reaction was no longer the same as before; his words didn't affect her at all. She looked towards Kiara, Mrs. Kiara's advice echoing in her ears.
“I, for one, think I suit this style quite well. My male colleagues say the same. Of course, I definitely can't wear work clothes when I go out at night.”
That statement revealed far too much discomforting information.
“You've actually started working?”
Crush her confidence, sever her social ties, make her world revolve around you alone…
The keywords that Teacher Mu Wilson had once echoed seemed to still ring in his ear, but the woman in front of him had entirely slipped from his control. What should he do now?
“If I didn't work, would you expect to support me? Can you even afford to?”
Although Kiara couldn't hear exactly what Ava was saying, she could guess from her ease at handling the situation.
“`
These days, who doesn't know how to counter a plot trick, hehe.
“The one you've mentored is indeed extraordinary. It seems Uncle Master was right to praise you; this time, I admit defeat.”
A voice arose from behind her, and as Kiara turned around, she saw James Norris 'Norris' holding two cups of milk tea, placing them in front of her.
Kiara had imagined many scenarios that might follow, such as continuing a verbal sparring with Norris, but none of her hypotheses included the one unfolding now.
Holding a cup of milk tea, Norris gestured towards the direction of the sun downstairs, “The one I've taught still can't compare to the one you've brought up.”
Kiara was caught off guard by his appearance, and even her feeding motion slowed.
Wendy, feeling unsatisfied, patted her high chair. She had just recently grown her two little teeth, and mom would always prepare some nutritious porridge in a thermal cup as a supplement, which she was happily eating.
“I find her beautiful every time I see her.” Norris looked at Wendy and smiled; Wendy also seemed pleased and flapped her little hands energetically at him. He then put down his milk tea and picked her up.
“You little troublemaker, have you put on weight again?”
Wendy's happy laughter was the response. Kiara had to spend several days a week in the laboratory, and when the baby missed her, the nanny would bring Wendy around for a visit, making everyone in the lab familiar with her.
Wendy was quite a fussy child who absolutely refused to be held by anyone she didn't like. However, she seemed to really like Norris, always quieting down in his arms. On the contrary, every time Eldest Brother tried to hold her, he'd either ended up with his nose pinched or his hair pulled.
This made Edward Farmbright 'Farmbright Farmer' now give Wendy a wide berth; he even suspected Kiara was behind it.
Actually, Kiara really hadn't taught the child any of this. If she had, would she let Norris and the baby be so close?
Wendy vigorously reached for the milk tea cup put down by Norris, who laughed.
“You're still young; you shouldn't drink these.”
“Yiyi ya!” The baby protested.
“How about this, can I let you have a lick?”
Wendy rewarded him with a kiss on his face.
Kiara felt relieved that her husband, who was possessive about their daughter, wasn't present. If Camden saw this scene, he'd go ballistic with jealousy.
This kid is getting along with Norris a bit too well…
If Wendy weren't just a bit smarter and mischievous compared to other kids, with no other significant differences, Kiara might even suspect her daughter of retaining memories from a past life. Otherwise, why prefer Norris, the very Senior Brother she loves to challenge?
Norris dipped a chopstick in the milk tea and offered it to Wendy, who smacked her lips twice, apparently not satisfied and wanting more. She protested noisily, and unable to resist her, Norris took off his bracelet from his wrist and gave it to Wendy to divert her attention.
Downstairs, Galen seemed to be repeatedly outmatched, having been driven back step by step by Ava Merry Vincent 'Ava Vincent', and the two Psychiatrists who were supposed to support her from behind were instead chatting and holding the baby.
“Isn't that person downstairs one of your students? You've admitted it?” Kiara glanced downstairs, where Galen had already been thoroughly bested by Ava, and even from the body language alone, it was clear Ava held an overwhelming advantage.
“He's my student; there's nothing to deny. As for you, dare you admit to the incident where you let him into my room?”
“It has nothing to do with me.” Kiara said earnestly; Norris laughed.
“Hehe, lying to a ghost.”
“It really has nothing to do with me — it was Camden's doing!”
“I knew it was that guy, sigh…”
Kiara never thought she'd have the chance to speak so frankly, but after saying it, she realized it wasn't difficult at all. It's just a situation where four twos meet two kings; both hands are bombs, and it's just about who plays the bigger bomb!
