Chapter 1263: Chapter 1235 Kiara, Edward Farmbright is Haunted Chapter 1263: Chapter 1235 Kiara, Edward Farmbright is Haunted “Do you know how old those two children were?”
“I don't know, they must have been of pre-school age, too young to remember anything.”
Seeing Kiara continue responding to every question, Edward Farmbright asked another.
“Besides that, what else did you see?”
“There were people talking under the kang, one was my mom, and the other was Rico Clark.”
Even in her subconscious, Kiara was reluctant to call that man Father, which showed how deep her hatred ran.
“What were they saying?” Edward Farmbright, hearing Kiara mention something she hadn't before, knew the current state was very successful and pressed on with his questioning.
“Rico Clark said my health was just too poor, and even after spending so much money, it still wasn't good. He wouldn't give my mom money anymore. She knelt before him, and he hit her…”
Kiara's expression was very pained as she recounted this part.
Many people think children are young and won't remember anything, but certain negative images can stay in the deep subconscious and, even if not recalled, can impact a person's entire life.
“What happened next?”
“My mom suddenly got up, grabbed a bag of money that was on the kang, and ran! Rico Clark chased after her, holding scissors. He was going to kill my mom… Stop!”
Kiara became increasingly agitated.
Edward Farmbright felt it was about time to lift the hypnosis, seeing that Kiara was probably dreaming about domestic violence between her parents during her childhood. With a bit of guidance, she would be okay.
However, Mario Yuno, sitting beside her and listening to the process, felt some doubts arise.
He wasn't versed in hypnosis or any of the professional aspects; he was just applying his investigatory logic to consider the matter, voicing two questions he saw as suspicious.
“Who was the other little girl on the kang? And who put the bag of money there?”
Twenty years ago Kiara's family condition shouldn't have been that great. Rico Clark was just an ordinary worker, not yet laid off, and his salary was only enough to make ends meet for the whole family, so how could there be a bag of money?
Moreover, Kiara didn't have an older sister, only a younger brother. So who was the other little girl on the kang?
As soon as he spoke, Edward Farmbright got angry, glaring at Mario Yuno. Dude, do you understand professional conduct? Outsiders who don't know how to ask questions properly should not talk during deep hypnosis!
What unpredictable consequences could come from reckless questioning at this time, no one knew!
Fortunately, Kiara instinctively relaxed at the sound of Mario Yuno's voice, and no adverse effects ensued. She furrowed her brow, as if pondering Mario Yuno's questions.
“That little girl's name was Xiang… I can't remember exactly, something Xiang. The money was left by the person who brought her; he said he wanted my mom to take care of the child.”
“Do you remember the name of the person who brought the child?” Mario Yuno asked again.
Once Edward Farmbright heard Kiara say the girl's name was something Xiang, his face had already changed. And when he heard Mario Yuno's follow-up question, his heart sank.
Darn, indulgence is really not good, huh? Just for the sake of a meal, why did I drag out the past?
Caught off guard for a moment, Edward Farmbright forgot to interrupt Kiara, who had already proficiently answered his question.
“Yuzo Joel.”
When Edward Farmbright heard Kiara mention the name Yuzo Joel, he quickly made the decision to lift the hypnosis, but it was still a step too late.
The sharp Mario Yuno had heard everything.
If someone else were sitting in this house, they would not have had any abnormal reaction even if they heard something, but the person seated here was Mario Yuno, a prodigy whose intuition and prowess in reasoning and analysis far surpassed that of ordinary people.
Almost instantly, Mario Yuno saw the panic in Edward Farmbright's expression, which made him even more certain that something dubious was going on; Farmbright must know something, yet he didn't want his daughter-in-law to know about it.
Releasing someone from deep hypnosis took some time, and as Farmbright concentrated on releasing him, Mario Yuno was also thinking of countermeasures.
“Any progress?” Kiara asked as she woke up from the hypnotic state.
“Nothing much, it's just that you saw your parents' fights during your childhood, which caused a psychological shadow, and on top of that, you're emotionally fragile during pregnancy, so all you need is some supportive therapy for that, and I will also have the third one make some herbal teas and essential oils that are safe for pregnant women to help with sleep,” Farmbright said while looking at Mario Yuno, uncertain how much he had overheard. Only when he turned and saw Mario Yuno asleep against the wall with his eyes closed did Farmbright feel relieved.
Kiara got up and saw Mario Yuno with a furrowed brow in his sleep and thought to herself, you, this guy, I asked you to keep watch, and here you are sleeping!
What if the daughter-in-law gets sold somehow!
She walked over and pushed Mario Yuno irritably, “Sleep your life away, why don't you? Get up and start making dinner already!”
Mario Yuno opened his eyes, looking innocently, “How did I fall asleep?”
Kiara tapped his head with her hand, thinking to herself how reliable he usually was at getting things done, so why did he fail at the crucial moment?
Farmbright came over to smooth things over, “Let it go, most people find our professional hypnosis boring, don't blame him.”
Mario Yuno apologized repeatedly to Kiara and as he spoke, he headed for the kitchen, and seeing this made Farmbright finally relax.
Mario Yuno probably didn't hear anything… right?
Even if he did, it wouldn't matter, Farmbright thought; he couldn't believe that just based on a name, this man wearing an apron decorated with heart patterns would be able to recall the events of the past!
Throughout the meal, Mario Yuno acted as usual, bickering with Farmbright and playing around with Kiara, showing nothing out of the ordinary, and Farmbright's worries were put to rest.
Once Farmbright left after the meal, Kiara sprang to close the door behind him and immediately began berating Mario Yuno.
“Camden Yuno! Has your brain taken on water?”
Mario Yuno didn't directly answer Kiara, instead he walked around the house, especially the places Farmbright had visited, inspecting for any hidden listening devices. After checking once and having Beautiful Lady sniff around to be sure they were safe, he then spoke seriously to Kiara.
“Kiara, Farmbright is up to something.”
“What?” Kiara was stunned.
“When he hypnotized you, it wasn't just to witness your parents' fighting; there's more to it.”
Camden hadn't been asleep at all; he had feigned that state to deceive Farmbright, and now that the man had left and only the couple remained, he told Kiara everything that had just happened.
The more Kiara listened, the tighter her brows knitted, especially upon hearing that Yuzo Joel had once met her parents, which made her even more suspicious.
“I was thinking if it could be that there's some issue with your deep subconscious, like maybe you misremembered something, as you were so young at the time and your memory hadn't fully formed, it's totally possible for you to mix up the present with the past, but after seeing Farmbright's expression for that split second, I'm convinced there's definitely more to it.”
Which is why he immediately feigned sleep; Camden's IQ was close to Einstein's and in that split second he had taken the most appropriate action.
The more Kiara thought about it, the more chilling the whole thing felt to her, hiding something potentially terrifying.
“If Yuzo Joel had been to your house before and gave your parents so much money, how could your Mother not remember him? Even if your Mother forgets him, who Yuzo Joel is, would he forget your Mother?”
Mario Yuno voiced the question that troubled Kiara's heart.
