Chapter 1257: Chapter 1229: Society, Me, Yoel Marine Brother Chapter 1257: Chapter 1229: Society, Me, Yoel Marine Brother Mother Yuno initially felt that the pranks between her two daughters-in-law were a bit too much, but seeing the other's unapologetic attitude, she instantly understood.
Such people, when you reason with them, it's like playing the lute to a cow. She reckoned if she had been willing to lower her head and apologize to Kiara, Kiara wouldn't have resorted to such a tactic. And seeing this woman daring to bring money into the issue, Mother Yuno couldn't contain her anger. Her nickname 'Firecracker' was not for nothing–she went straight for the smash!
That noble lady was on the verge of exploding after being hit with money by Mother Yuno, but as the Old Yates Family had more people on their side, she was at a disadvantage. With nowhere to vent her rage, Billa came over trying to mediate, but while the woman didn't dare to lash out at others, she didn't hesitate to strike Billa.
So she reached out and pushed. Billa's attention was all on Arlong, trying to stop him from hitting her own grandmother, not expecting that the person she was defending would stab her in the back like that, sending Billa stumbling toward the wall.
She didn't hit the wall but fell into an embrace instead, and when she looked up, she saw a face as cold as an ice block.
Wasn't this her own lover?
“Are you hurt?” the man asked, looking down. His ice block face was expressionless, but his eyes were filled with concern.
“Yoel Marine, come here! These people are bullying Mom!” The noble lady, seeing her son arrive, urgently called him, feeling like her reinforcements had arrived.
“Oh my God! It's him!!!” Arlong's head buzzed the moment he saw the man holding Billa.
“Who is that?” Kiara hadn't seen this man before, but she thought he looked distinguished and had an air of authority, domineering yet restrained. Standing next to Billa, they really seemed a well-matched couple, both attractive in their own right.
“The big boss of another company, my brother-in-law's biggest competitor. Gosh, last time during the bidding, we were almost wrapped up and done for; fortunately, my brother-in-law gained a slight advantage with some clever strategies. You have no idea, just because of this guy with all the ill will, he nearly screwed us over. Although my brother-in-law still won, he came back and vented at us; we were almost scared to death!”
The sight of an enemy makes one's blood boil, and Arlong couldn't forget the “big bad wolf” who nearly brought his entire company down–this stingy bad egg with a belly full of schemes, he'd recognize him even if he turned to ashes!
Upon hearing this, Kiara understood that the person was her husband's business rival.
After making sure the woman in his arms was not hurt, the man called Yoel Marine moved to Kiara's bedside and asked.
“How are you feeling?”
While he spoke, ice seemed to crackle in the air.
“Yoel Marine! These people hit me, you need to teach them a lesson, show them just how formidable we are!” The noble lady, seeing her son first inquire after his woman and then turn to ask the woman who had bullied her, while completely neglecting her own plight, was almost fuming with rage.
“How are you feeling?” The man persisted in asking Kiara as if he hadn't heard his mother's outcries.
Kiara, seeing the man took such a stance and knowing he was on the same side as her husband, decided to leave herself an out without making a definitive statement.
“Actually, I'm quite alright, it's not a big issue.”
“There, she herself said it's not a big issue! This family is too much; it was just an accidental bump, yet they resort to hitting me and throwing money at me, what on earth?!” The noble lady continued to complain to her son. Yoel Marine persisted in ignoring her, sweeping his gaze around the room until it landed on Arlong. His eyes narrowed.
“We've met before.”
That was a statement made with undeniable confidence.
Arlong managed a strained smirk, “We have indeed crossed paths before. Your company is quite decent, but still, it lost to our brilliant and invincible Vice President Yuno–my condolences.”
This kid was obviously asking for it, but Yoel Marine remained unmoved, with the corner of his mouth slowly curling up on one side.
“A man of Edward Wheeler 'Bright Clarity'?”
“Yes!” Arlong said, quite proudly.
Indeed. Like attracts like. His employees were just as annoying as Edward Wheeler 'Bright Clarity' himself.
“If it weren't for Edward Wheeler 'Bright Clarity' pulling his tricks last time, it wouldn't have been your turn to win.”
“Our vice president said, 'All's fair in war.' He also said…” Arlong's voice trailed off, getting quieter.
“What else did he say?” Yoel Marine asked coldly, knowing in his heart that it definitely wasn't anything good. Mario Yuno was really too nasty, every single cell exuding an air of both rascality and cheapness.
“Our Vice President also said that if there's a next time, he'll utterly annihilate you without leaving a single piece behind.”
Yoel Marine sneered, “Go back and tell your clever and sneaky Mario Yuno that next time we meet, I won't let him smile.”
While they were talking, Sister-in-law, Mother Yuno, and Kiara, this trio had formed a group of spectators enjoying the excitement, and even Billa had joined in.
“Looks like you know them?” Billa asked.
“If I heard correctly, your husband and my husband should be competitors in the Market Mall, it's just that they belong to different factions. Guess we can say we know each other now.” Kiara had figured out what was happening, she remembered that there was someone who had caused quite a bit of trouble for Mario Yuno. Camden deep down actually liked the challenge; without an opponent, how can one grow?
The side that was enjoying the commotion was joined by more spectators, while the Noble lady on the other side was fuming with rage, was everyone treating her like she was invisible!
Angry from being thoroughly ignored, the Noble lady stepped forward and pushed her son, interrupting Yoel Marine's conversation with Arlong.
“Why don't you ask about my problems!”
Yoel Marine gave her a cold glance, “We'll talk about your issues at home.”
Turning his head to Kiara, he said, “Thank you for helping my woman out of a difficult situation, I will personally visit to express my gratitude another day, may I have your contact information?”
With him putting it that way, Kiara felt too embarrassed to keep scamming, the Noble lady really had no shame, but it seemed her son was quite sensible.
“No need for my family's contact. If you need me, just contact my husband directly.”
Yoel Marine suddenly had an ominous premonition, could it be–
“Let me introduce, my husband is Mario Yuno, I am Emma Clark, you have a good eye, you've chosen a very good woman.” Kiara extended her hand to shake with this ice block of a man, her inner troublemaker was laughing uproariously with hands on hips.
Ha ha ha ha! His expression was enough to make her happy for a year; she definitely had to share this with Camden when she got back home.
“Kiara, sorry to have troubled you,” Billa came over and apologized to Kiara repeatedly, Kiara waved it off, it wasn't a big deal.
The Noble lady, cowed by her son's cold stare, also felt uneasy in her heart, but she couldn't reconcile herself to just letting it go when she was in such a tough spot. Just then, someone else came in from outside.
“Mom! Are you alright?”
The Noble lady's eyes curved into a smile upon seeing this person, her eldest son had arrived!
“Sania, come and seek justice for Mom, these people are bullying me!”
Mother Yuno and the others naturally looked over in the direction of the new arrival, assessing the man who had just entered.
Is he really part of the same family?
Why was it that Yoel Marine was so dignified and handsome, with both a commanding presence and the right height, while this other man who came in had a sleazy face, was short, and ugly, and to top it off, had a lazy eye!
Did all the good genes go to Yoel Marine, resulting in this spoiled and damaged fruit?
Seeing his brother arrive, Yoel Marine's already frosty face sank even further.
“Which one of you bullied My Mom? Got a death wish, have you? I brought people, the street outside is filled with my guys. I'll rip your legs off, messing with My Mom, you really have a death wish, and this cheap woman hasn't even entered our Home and is already causing trouble, truly cheap–ah!”
Sania hadn't finished speaking when Yoel Marine's hand was wrapped around his neck, flipping his eyes white.
“Shut up! Embarrassing trash!”
