Chapter 1255: Chapter 1227: Professional Scammer, Master QianZong Chapter 1255: Chapter 1227: Professional Scammer, Master QianZong Thomas 'King Leader' saw that it involved a major customer's family and immediately changed his tune, acting all tough with the support of the Noble lady.
“I'm not lying! She is the Ninth Catastrophe–anyone close to her is doomed. She brings misfortune to her father, her mother, and her husband! You must not let your son marry her, or your whole family will be cursed!”
“That's nonsense! Our Boss is the best person!” The Secretary, so angry she wanted to charge over, but the Noble lady pointed at Billa's nose and cursed loudly.
“Billa, what are you making a fuss about! Control your dog and keep it from biting people indiscriminately!”
“You're the dog!” The Secretary was also furious, wanting to rush over and argue, but Billa raised a hand.
“Sunna, step back. Auntie, I'm here to prove to you that this old man is a scammer, and you can't listen to him–”
“Smack!”
Before Billa could finish speaking, a sharp pain spread across his face as the Noble lady slapped him, hitting his face so hard it twisted to the side.
“What are you doing! Can't you see she's pregnant?!” Kiara couldn't stand it any longer and stood up to speak for this friend she had only recently met.
“And who might you be?” The Noble lady gave Kiara a top-to-bottom look, filled with disdain. She assumed Kiara was Billa's friend and was annoyed by association.
“I'm just a bystander, but I can prove it, we all can prove, that this old man is a scammer. Why would you harm your family's harmony over a swindler looking to make a quick buck? Especially when your daughter-in-law is pregnant–how could you just strike her?”
Kiara's words were reasonable, but the Noble lady was unshaken and pointed at Kiara, yelling angrily.
“You mind your own business and get lost! Who are you to interfere? This Vixen doesn't deserve to be my daughter-in-law; who knows what kind of bastard she's carrying in her belly?”
Hearing such vile words from the Noble lady, Billa's rage surged, but she stood even taller, her eyes filled with defiance yet powerlessness, a look that moved Kiara.
Kiara hadn't intended to get involved, but seeing this reminded her of how she had been bullied by that scumbag and his family in a past life. This woman's demeanor was all too familiar to her; it was like those who had tormented her, and suddenly Kiara felt ignited with anger.
“Looking at your attire, you seem to be a reputable person, so how can you disregard your status and use such vile language? You keep saying she's not worthy, so how high is your family's threshold? Dare you reveal it so everyone can hear? Let everyone hear how a Noble lady from a high household uses such filthy words? Frankly, you're nothing but trash.”
Expressing this felt liberating for Kiara, and Arlong echoed his sister's sentiment.
“Exactly! Who do you think you are, boasting about your family's grandeur? My mom might be uneducated and just a laboring woman, but I think her manners are far above yours. Any of you decent mothers here ever curse like she does, let alone beat a pregnant woman? Tsk tsk, what an eye-opener!”
After Arlong finished, the crowd began to murmur in agreement. With the evident wealth gap, a certain resentment towards the rich was common, and this rallying cry against them was spot on, turning the Noble lady into the target of public scorn.
Seeing so many people discussing her, the Noble lady's face turned pale with rage. She reached out to slap Billa again but was stopped when Billa grabbed her wrist. Billa had worked her way up from the bottom, and her grip was strong, causing the Noble lady's face to twist in pain.
“Auntie, I've been patient with you for his sake. Please don't mistake my tolerance for weakness or keep harassing me.”
After letting go, the Noble lady stumbled back, grimacing in pain. She glanced uneasily at the rough-looking men behind Billa.
So, pointing at Billa's nose, she said, “You just wait! As long as I live, you'll never set foot in my house!”
After she finished speaking, she turned to leave. After taking a couple of steps, she suddenly turned back, probably intending to point at Billa and say something more. However, her arm movement was too aggressive and inadvertently it struck Kiara's face.
Smack!
Kiara, clutching her face, stumbled back two steps. Seeing this, Billa quickly stepped forward to support Kiara, “Are you all right?”
Kiara hadn't even had a chance to respond before Arlong exploded with anger.
“You old fat hag, you dare to hit my sister, watch how I beat the crap out of you!”
With that, he stepped forward, grabbed the Old Lady's hair, and yanked it hard, scattering her hair. Arlong didn't care whether she was male or female; he just saw his pregnant sister get hit innocently, and he smacked the Old Lady in retaliation!
Actually, the slap the Noble lady delivered to Kiara wasn't particularly painful, probably not even leaving a mark. Kiara was just a bit startled and quickly recovered.
But as soon as she saw Arlong spring into action, her mind raced through several calculations.
The Old Lady's clothes, mostly unrecognizable brands to most people, were immediately identified by Kiara as not being cheap, especially when paired with the LV bag she carried and her outrageously arrogant tone. She was obviously wealthy, if not noble.
Q City was only so big. If she was a businesswoman, it would be easy to handle; elder Brother could deal with her directly. But if she were some official, the consequences could be troublesome. After all, Kiara's in-laws held a significant status. It wasn't that Kiara was too afraid to cause trouble; she just didn't want her side to be at a disadvantage. So Kiara quickly made a decision and collapsed into Billa's arms.
“I feel dizzy, it's over, I got hurt, hurry, take me to the Hospital!”
Upon hearing this, Billa was greatly shocked, feeling extremely guilty for involving an innocent person because of her–what to do now!
“Hurry to the Hospital!” Billa ordered her subordinates, and quickly someone went to start the battered van they had arrived in.
Arlong rushed over in a panic, “Sis, sis, sis, are you okay?!”
While no one was paying attention, Kiara gave him a wink–only the two siblings saw it.
Arlong, sort of understanding her, let out a couple of “Ah”s and then felt relieved.
“Quick… call my in-laws… say I've been hit… my whole body and head hurt…”
Kiara's scamming skills were indeed professional, frightening the Noble lady into a pale retreat. The men Mario Yuno had found weren't about to let her escape and encircled her immediately!
In truth, Kiara had far better means of dealing with the Old Woman, but she had used this tactic mainly for Billa's sake. Without it, the arrogant Old Lady might cause Billa trouble in the future. Taking her down a peg in one go would make things easier, helping Billa and sparing her own in-laws some trouble.
Kiara wasn't actually hurt; she was merely staging the whole scene. She had Arlong take her to the Hospital where her Sister-in-law worked. Sister-in-law was panicked when she saw her, nearly losing her soul–my goodness, the most esteemed person of our family getting involved in a fight and ending up in the Hospital?
Kiara quickly pulled Sister-in-law's head down and whispered a few words, making her understand the situation.
Oh, someone was bullying by taking advantage of their status. In that case, sister-in-law did the right thing!
Not saying anything would just let the other party off too easily, right? Absolutely not acceptable.
