Chapter 1234: Chapter 1206 Almost Took it Seriously (Monthly Passes 2600+ Update) Chapter 1234: Chapter 1206 Almost Took it Seriously (Monthly Passes 2600+ Update) Yuzo Joel casually chatted with the Dean for a while before he and Kiara got up to leave. It seemed that the preparation on the other side was taking a bit longer, so he took Kiara for a stroll around the Maternity Hospital.
Kiara had previously come for several prenatal checkups, and Mario Yuno had accompanied her once. When he was too busy with work, it was Abigail Nana who accompanied her. Now, walking around the Maternity Hospital not for a checkup but rather with her future teacher, the atmosphere was a bit odd but not awkward.
“When I take you down this path, I feel like I'm walking through a corridor of time. Do you have such an image in your mind? The further we go, the more time reverses. You get younger, from your current twenties to your teens, and then to a few years old, gradually turning into a baby…”
As Yuzo Joel spoke and walked, Kiara understood and found it somewhat amusing.
Wasn't this her own usual trick? Using associative therapy–was Yuzo Joel trying to untie the knot in her heart concerning her father?
“Don't bother. Although I don't reject treatment as fiercely as Camden does, I know all the techniques you're using. It's hard for you to get me to experience that scenario.”
Healers can hardly heal themselves.
“I'm not treating you. I'm trying to comfort myself. Ah, life doesn't offer do-overs. I just imagine, as time flies by, you've grown into a young lady, and I'm still thinking about the red-faced baby that you were in my arms. Your first cry was like piercing the heavens. I asked Sisi next to me if there were any auspicious signs at birth as they say there must be for extraordinary people. Did my daughter have any?”
Yuzo Joel stopped in front of the delivery room, his words filled with emotion, and it was as if Kiara was transported back to that scene. Just outside the delivery room, there was a family anxiously waiting. A young man and a young woman appeared to be siblings, standing vigil, fitting the moment perfectly.
“Who is Sisi?”
“You should call her Auntie. She's a bit younger than me and is my sister. She is the best at reading these kinds of gossips. I was holding you, fresh from birth, and asked her if there were any unusual signs. She was too happy to pay attention to those things and casually told me that there might have been, but she didn't look closely.”
While Yuzo Joel and Kiara were talking, the door to the delivery room opened, and a doctor handed the baby over to the father. The father joyfully received the child, his sister beside him exclaiming with joy, praising how well the baby looked and foretelling a promising future.
Really, what can you tell about a newborn baby? They all look rather messy, but who doesn't want to hear auspicious words to bring good luck at such a time?
The scene unfolding before them was a serendipitous match with what Yuzo Joel had described, and it seemed to replicate a moment from the past, which moved Kiara emotionally.
“You really knew how to cry when you were little.” Before Yuzo Joel could finish, the baby in front seemed to cry on cue, wailing loudly as if trying to lift the roof off. The father was flustered, desperately trying to console his child.
Kiara, hearing Yuzo Joel's words and seeing this scene, suddenly felt a strange notion. She felt as if she had indeed walked down that corridor and turned into a baby, held in the arms of a father as caring as Yuzo Joel, her ears ringing with his clumsy attempts to soothe her, “Don't cry, don't cry.”
“I don't know if others look forward to the arrival of their child, but I was genuinely happy. Your arrival brought hope to our entire family and carried so much joy. So don't be troubled by the false appearances before you. That man is not your father, I am. You are a child who, from birth, bore all my hopes and is not the unworthy heir he saw in his eyes.”
He turned to look at Kiara only to see her eyes reddened, her tears pooling as she looked at him.
“You silly girl. You were just saying my treatment wouldn't work on you. Look! My immersion worked, didn't it? You took it seriously,” Yuzo Joel teased, pushing Kiara gently. The tears she had just summoned were now pushed back by her laughter, breaking into a smile.
“You're still the best, I almost believed it was real.”
Although Kiara knew that Yuzo Joel's touching words were merely part of a guided “immersion,” his words miraculously smoothed out a lot of the irritability in her heart. The resentment towards her father that she had suppressed seemed to have dissipated significantly. It was clear that love is the best way to heal emotional wounds.
Walking around had already improved her mood substantially when Yuzo Joel's phone rang. The Dean notified him that preparations were complete.
“Let's go. What you just saw was the past, now I'll show you the future!” he beckoned to Kiara, who was completely baffled.
“The future?”
“You'll understand once we get there.”
Yuzo Joel led Kiara through the hospital until they found the meeting room. When she pushed the door open, she was stunned. What was this…?
“Surprised, huh? The future is right there, go on!”
The meeting room had been transformed; the tables and chairs were all cleared out, replaced by brightly colored foam mats on the floor. All the blinds were open, allowing the warm sunlight to stream in. What surprised Kiara were the diverse shapes and forms of the little toddlers on the floor.
The sizable conference room had been “occupied” by a bunch of toddlers wrapped in diapers.
Each child was accompanied by their father or mother. The oldest could just about stand up but would wobble when they walked, and the younger ones were held in the arms of their parents. She counted over a dozen.
“Why did you bring me here?” Kiara was confused.
“To show you your future 'Kiara'–how well have you studied that part of Child Psychology? Can you conduct some simple infant psychological parent-child games for these parents?”
“That's my minor, I'm far from an authority and have barely had any babies as clients.”
Kiara was more familiar with the psychological issues of adults, understanding but not specializing in the psychological states of babies.
“Let me demonstrate a class first, and when you have time, you can come over and play with them. One class a week, how about that?”
“Is there money involved?”
“20,000 for a session, okay? Just 20 minutes.”
Upon hearing there was money involved, Kiara's eyes instantly lit up; she felt as if she had been fully revived.
Seeing her happy made Yuzo Joel's eyes crinkle with joy, thinking that his own investment to cheer her up was well worth it.
Kiara was feeling awful staying at home, and Mario had been concerned that working might tire her, so he had her stop taking jobs for a while. Now, with Rico's situation weighing heavily on Kiara's mind, Yuzo Joel found her this job.
Kiara didn't realize this was all out of Yuzo Joel's own pocket. Hearing there was money to be made, she perked up and found a spot to sit and watch Yuzo Joel interact with the parents.
She was instantly captivated. Many people think that babies don't have psychological activities, but Yuzo Joel's demonstration proved otherwise and excited everyone; it turns out even little babies can have such inner worlds!
For example, he would have parents make a crying face to their baby, and the baby's expression would follow suit, looking distressed. If the parent smiled, the baby would also smile. His humorous and entertaining interactive games not only provided the parents with another way to understand their babies but also opened up a whole new knowledge system for Kiara. The 20 minutes flew by, and she was so engrossed that she completely forgot about Trash Dad.
