Chapter 1216: Chapter 1188: What Did Mrs. Kiara Drink Back Then (Four Updates) Chapter 1216: Chapter 1188: What Did Mrs. Kiara Drink Back Then (Four Updates) Asking about this right off the bat is a bit odd, Giorno had no idea what was going on but he honestly answered anyway.
“I wash the dishes, my wife has recently become pregnant and can't stand the smell of the kitchen.”
Sonya Cornelle seemed more satisfied with this answer and nodded, then continued to ask.
“Who washes the clothes then?”
“The washing machine.”
“What about the clothes that the washing machine can't wash?”
“Me, my wife also can't stand the smell of laundry detergent.”
“Are you too busy with work to manage?”
“It's manageable, my workplace is close to home, which makes it convenient for taking care of things.” Giorno became perplexed by the questioning, this lady was being a bit too thorough.
“Madame, I haven't even asked for your honorable name so that I may personally visit you to express my gratitude another day, I truly owe you a lot this time.”
Sonya Cornelle waved her hand, “Don't call me 'Madame,' it's not the right generation. You don't need to visit me, I'll go home with you in a moment.”
“…” Giorno was a pile of question marks, what was going on, why did his benefactor want to go to his house?
At this point, the police had already arrived, and multiple people were handcuffed. Mario Yuno was explaining the situation while Kiara comforted her terrified mother, occasionally glancing over at Giorno, only to see him having a “delightful conversation” with the person who had come halfway to help everyone out.
Sonya Cornelle was quite pleased with Giorno, very polite, and indeed just as the apprentice had described him over the phone. Out of professional habit, she also took a moment to read his face, which made her even more satisfied.
“Not bad, a broad forehead signifies no outside romantic entanglements, a rounded jaw shows commitment to family, and a ridge on the upper lip denotes wealth, very good indeed.”
“Madame, my name is in fact Giorno.” Giorno caught on to the last part of what she said after she went through her spiel.
Giorno, calling out his own name.
“I already said, don't call me 'Madame,' you should call me Master.”
“…” Poor honest Giorno was confused again.
Kiara came over at this point with her mother, wanting to also express her gratitude to this woman.
“Thank you for your help, without you my mother and I would have been in danger.”
“Don't mention it, are you Emma Clark?”
Kiara had heard what the woman said as she approached and was already feeling doubtful; now, hearing her call out her name directly, she became even more puzzled.
“I am, and you are–?”
Sonya Cornelle looked Kiara over and nodded, “Indeed, a very perceptive and intelligent expression, especially these well-formed ears, indicating you're going to be an authority in some field. However, your facial features are quite dominant, which is good for a career but not necessarily beneficial for matrimonial prospects.”
“I'm married, and my husband is excellent.”
“Is that your husband?” Sonya Cornelle pointed towards Mario Yuno.
Kiara nodded.
“Hang on, I have to carry a mirror. I'm getting a bit older, and my eyes aren't as good as they once were…” Sonya Cornelle took a box out of her pocket, along with her Glasses to take a good look at Mario Yuno from ten meters away.
“Huh…” Once Sonya Cornelle got a clear view of Mario Yuno's features and then glanced back at Kiara, she began calculating with her fingers, “I happen to know that young man's horoscope, and what about yours?”
Kiara had been doubting her identity, but now hearing her mention knowing Mario Yuno's personal details, she guessed who the woman might be.
No wonder, it turns out to be her!
Kiara's mother by the side, originally still in shock, saw a likely high-level fortune teller and got excited, quickly reporting Kiara's birth details.
Sonya Cornelle was seen calculating with her fingers, and while Giorno had yet to react, Kiara silently said something to him. Giorno looked at her lips once and did not understand, so Kiara repeated, and Giorno's mouth shaped an “O.”
No way, such a coincidence?!
Meanwhile, Sonya Cornelle finished evaluating the life chart, clicking her tongue in wonder.
“Oh my, quite remarkable, the two of you meeting like this, indeed a match made in heaven. You are the Breaking Army Star, and he is Seven Killings, if you separate, you'll experience a life of constant drifting and sharp ups and downs, whereas together, you'd be formidable. Now if there was a Greedy Wolf Star to join you, completing the Killing Wolf, that would be incredible.”
“Killing what wolf?” Kiara's mother, the superstitious woman, got completely intrigued upon hearing this and immediately started a conversation.
“The Killing Wolf is a kind of life chart in Jesse, just so you know, ancient generals all had this destiny. When the Seven Killings Star, Breaking Army Star, and the Greedy Wolf Star walk together, the world must change hands, that is when it becomes formidable.”
Kiara's mother, completely confused, only understood one thing–that her daughter and son-in-law together had a good destiny–this was music to her ears.
“Big sister, could you read mine as well?” Kiara's mother asked Sonya Cornelle, who had been so focused on Kiara and Edward Wheeler 'Bright Clarity's' faces that she hadn't paid much attention to her. Hearing this, Sonya Cornelle turned to take a careful look at Kiara's mother. Upon seeing her, she inhaled sharply.
“Are you–?!”
Kiara's mother, seeing her surprise, felt her heart sink.
Could it be her destiny was so bad that people were reluctant to read it?!
Being a staunch believer in this, now that she met an expert displaying such an expression, the blow to Kiara's mother felt even worse than the recent attack.
“Are you Elizabeth Grutt?” asked Sonya Cornelle, pointing at Kiara's mother.
“Yes, that's me. How could you possibly calculate that?” Kiara's mother was thoroughly impressed.
“Have you forgotten me? We met twenty years ago, when you brought your daughter to me and I gave you a bowl of Coffin Dragon Beard Water, do you not remember?”
“Ah! It's you! Heavens! Priest Jerry, after all these years, how do you still look so young?!” Kiara's mother recalled, certainly a benefactor, a great one at that!
“Wait, what water?” Kiara, who had keen hearing, caught the keyword, suddenly feeling an ominous premonition.
“It's because when you were little, you were very sick, and then your mother came to me for help, I deduced that you needed to drink—-”
“My goodness, yes, it's you! Quick, come home and rest; what a twist of fate.” Kiara's mother, afraid of what might be revealed, hurriedly interrupted.
“Don't change the subject! Let her speak, what solution did you give my mom?”
Kiara remembered the last time her mom had stopped speaking halfway, and according to Mrs. Kiara's understanding of her mother, stopping halfway surely meant there was something she was afraid Kiara would find out.
Sonya Cornelle, straightforward and direct, which you could tell by the apprentice she trained, paid no attention to the pleading looks from Kiara's mother and plainly told Kiara the answer.
“Coffin Dragon Beard Water, because there was ill-fate in your life that if not dealt with, would prevent you from thriving. You had to drink water soaked with wood from a coffin older than five hundred years. It took quite some effort to find that back then.”
“Five hundred years… never used before?” Kiara clung to a sliver of hope.
“How could it possibly be never used before, how else could it suppress ill-fate?”
“Ugh!” Kiara, who hadn't felt nauseated since getting pregnant, finally couldn't bear it anymore and covered her mouth, retching violently.
Edward Wheeler 'Bright Clarity' had almost finished dealing with the situation, as the few bad guys had been taken away, awaiting strict interrogation. He turned and saw Kiara covering her mouth and bending over to gag. He rushed over to her immediately.
“Kiara, what's wrong?!”
