Chapter 1080: Chapter 1052: Things Gradually Come to Light Chapter 1080: Chapter 1052: Things Gradually Come to Light Elder Brother and Kiara were not going to let Renee Wong off easily this time.
Kiara's intention in saying these things was to remind Second Brother to be mindful of his attitude and where he stands.
Second Brother glanced toward Zoe's hospital room and pulled out his phone to turn it off.
He had fulfilled his duty to Renee Wong and his old friend; from now on, he would have no further entanglements with the Wong family, and whatever Elder Brother decided to do with them was none of his concern.
Now, his only wish was to take good care of his wife and son, nothing more.
As for Kiara, at this stage of events, she didn't plan to get involved anymore.
What could be anticipated was that Elder Brother would never let the Wong family off easily; it was expected they would be dealt with so harshly as to lose half their lives, not to mention that Mina Fernandez should be mentally prepared for retaliation after daring to do those things.
Kiara found it extremely ironic to think of Renee Wong accusing Isaac of being the other woman while scolding Isaac.
The term “other woman” was very common in her work.
At least 60% of those who came to her for marital and relationship advice would inquire about this issue.
Why do mistresses exist, and why do some people feel entitled to wreck other people's homes?
In Kiara's view, when a person's greed outweighs their moral restraints, wrecking another's home seems justified.
Isaac was certainly not Second Brother's mistress, but for someone like Renee Wong, it had become an obsession.
Some people stubbornly refuse to face their failures, always blaming others instead, and it's in the process of resenting others that they lose their chances to be happy.
Kiara called Mario Yuno.
“When are you coming home?” he asked right away, already missing her after being apart for a few days.
Kiara had intended to tell him she was already in Linville, and she'd see him that night.
But as the words reached her lips, she felt a sudden playfulness.
“Still two days to wait.”
“I'm serious here, you know your man is so charming that wherever I go, young girls scream at me. If you don't rush back to defend your territory, and another woman snatches away such an outstanding man as me, won't you be crying at the Great Wall?”
Listening to the rascally voice on the other end of the phone, Kiara hummed.
“Which woman isn't afraid of death to dare to snatch my things?”
In dealing with actions that destroy another's home, Kiara's principle was simple: crush the mistress and kick the scumbag to the curb, with no room for turning back.
In many cases of betrayal within the family, there is a pattern that the more economically and personally independent a woman is, the less tolerant she is of a betraying man, and the higher the likelihood of divorce.
Because they have so many options, in contrast, women who are not economically or personally independent usually find various reasons and excuses to endure, because they struggle to adapt to life outside and use their emotions to numb themselves.
“How can there not be? There's a beautiful lady right beside me, do you believe me?” Mario Yuno said cheerfully.
“Don't even start,” Kiara replied, not believing that her Camden would betray their family.
Even Kiara's mother knew that men all over the world were up to no good, but Mario Yuno wouldn't be; instead, it was Kiara, with her extensive knowledge and worldly ways, who made others more worried.
She was about to hang up, but then it seemed to Kiara that there was some noise in the background, not like the Workplace Organisation.
“Are you Outside?”
“Uh…” Mario Yuno hesitated, answering vaguely.
“I'm at the office, can't talk now, hurry back home!”
After saying that, he hung up the phone, afraid that Kiara would ask more questions.
He wiped the sweat from his forehead and turned to the co-pilot with a gentle smile, “Beautiful Lady, should we keep our little secret from my 'Tiger' wife? Here, let me close the car window. The noise from Outside is pouring in, messing up my Beautiful Lady…”
Phew, hopefully the daughter-in-law didn't catch on, Mario Yuno thought as he watched the scenery fly by outside the car window, thinking this might just be the only secret he ever kept from Kiara.
Kiara hung up the phone and tilted her head slightly.
Was she overthinking things, or why did Mario Yuno's voice sound so guilty?
She shook her head, it was impossible.
Her husband, who could swear to the sky and the earth and the air without as much as a blink even if a knife was held to his throat–how could there be anything for him to feel guilty about? It must be because she hadn't seen him in days and was just overly anxious.
While waiting for the red light, a Cherokee sped past the intersection; Kiara squinted.
If she wasn't wrong, wasn't that her husband's car?
She couldn't move while waiting for the red light, and the car just passed right in front of her eyes.
How could the man who claimed to be at the office a minute ago suddenly appear here?
Fearful of making a mistake, Kiara deliberately looked at the license plate again, no mistake, that was definitely her Aruo's car!
He had been driving that car for years, and just as Kiara was planning to replace her own car, she was going to change his as well. She would never mistake her own car.
This wasn't a time for rest; if he were out for a meeting or some official business, he wouldn't be driving his own car, so could it be that he had lent it to someone else?
When the light turned green, Kiara turned the corner without caring about the risk of getting photographed, and chased after it.
She wanted to see what was inside her husband's car, who had the face to borrow Mario Yuno's car.
Camden had a classic saying: never lend out your car or wife.
If it were the usual Camden, he would definitely notice his car brushing past his daughter-in-law and Renee's vehicles, but today all his attention was on the Beautiful Lady in the passenger seat, he didn't even notice when he passed by Kiara's car.
“Look Beautiful Lady, can you act a bit more decently? Let me tell you, this co-pilot seat has always only been for my daughter-in-law. You just have to sit here and won't get out. If my daughter-in-law sees, she will definitely get angry.”
As he faced Beautiful Lady's pair of watery big eyes, Camden sighed.
“Ah, it's not just about sitting in the co-pilot seat, even if she sees you it'll make her angry. What are we going to do about us? We can't let her know. If she finds out, she's definitely going to kill me, and after that, it'll be a divorce… Hey! Don't kiss me like that, I'm driving, get off!”
Kiara sped after them without daring to drive too fast; if the driver were Mario Yuno, his vigilance would definitely be stronger than others, and if she got too close, she would be spotted.
At this moment, Kiara didn't suspect Camden yet. She figured that it wasn't Mario Yuno driving since her Camden would never lie to her. She was just curious to see who had the face to borrow Mario Yuno's car.
But when she saw from afar her own car parked in front of a shop, and then a pair of legs she knew all too well stepped out of it, Kiara's eyes widened.
If it wasn't her Husband practicing some sort of duplication technique, then who the hell was that before her eyes?
The man she had shared a bed with for years, of course, she wouldn't misidentify him–he was even wearing the clothes she bought for him; she'd recognize him even if he turned to ash!
But how could the guy who just said he was at the office suddenly appear here?
Kiara narrowed her eyes as she saw a young woman come out of the shop and greet Mario Yuno with a radiant smile.
The other woman.
These three words harshly appeared in Kiara's mind, startling her so much that she was frozen in place for a long while.
