Relieved to find she was still breathing, the stone hanging over his heart finally dropped.
Ji Zeqiu called her name a few more times. Her eyelids twitched, and she slowly opened her eyes, looking confused.
Seeing Ji Zeqiu, she paused for a moment, finally remembering why she was here.
Her mouth quivered, and she flung herself onto Ji Zeqiu, bursting into tears, “Wu wu wu… Are you all right? Where are you hurt, is it serious? I thought you were going to die…”
Ji Zeqiu staggered a few steps back when she bumped into him, the taste of blood in his throat intensifying.
He opened his mouth, wanting to curse, but hearing her concern about his injuries the moment she woke up, he swallowed his words and stiffly reassured, “I'm still alive, aren't I? Don't cry.”
“As long as you're alive.” Lin Xu gradually stopped her crying.
“How about you, are you feeling any discomfort?” Ji Zeqiu asked.
His question only made Lin Xu's mouth quiver more, and she cried even louder, “Ji Zeqiu, it hurts so much!”
“Where does it hurt?!” Ji Zeqiu became anxious.
“My head, hands, legs, and my back… my whole body hurts,” Lin Xu sobbed, crying even harder.
