Standing alone on the big room, Wang Kai look at the busy street from the glass wall. There is no stars shone on the dark sky, due to the light pollution.

He was working after NiNi go home, he thought that after she made up with NiNi he would concentrate on his work. There is a land bidding that need his concentration, the presentation due is next Monday, 4 days from now.

He hasn't satisfied yet with the plan, he knew that the plan missed something. But he can't point it out as he keeps recalling the doubt on NiNi face when she asked him about the child.

Walking to the balcony, the chilly air welcomed him as he open the door. There is an artificial modern garden at his apartment; mother Wang is the one who planned the whole garden area, saying his apartment is too cold and empty. The garden makes the air on his balcony especially fresh and good, it's a pity he rarely came here as he spends most of his time on the office.

But the fresh air is not enough to make him calm, his heart is very anxious. He might appear calm, but he was in a great internal battle inside.

He wanted NiNi, it was clear from the starts. She is the reason why he wanted to be a powerful and successful man. He wanted to give her the whole world, he wanted to give the best for her. His heart yearns for her.

But the responsibilities if the child is really his, tie him from having her.

But today, of the first time of his life he hate that he have that great sense.

When NiNi ask him that damned question with despair in her eyes, he knew she can't accept the child. He knew sooner or later he had to choose between that boy and NiNi.

He used his poker face every day in his life when he met people. He even use a poker face with his parents and even Guan Xian. But he never fakes everything when he was alone with NiNi. Well it's part of her ability, she can easily take off his mask without any effort.

But today, he fakes his calmness in front of her.

He was scared. He was damn scared that the NiNi will really leave him. He wants to act like he didn't notice her hesitance. How he wish he can be ignorant and act like he didn't notice her unwillingness. Or at least he had the guts to ask her.

If only he can shamelessly force her to accept the child. If NiNi can accept the way he is.

Wiping his face roughly as he became even more colluded, he sighs and sit on the bench behind the fake waterfall. The sound of water falling is somehow rhythmic to his ears, it remind him when they were child they like to watch the rain fall behind the glass while sipping a hot chocolate or tea.

It was simple and beautiful back then, but the little Wang Kai didn't appreciate it. He took it for granted as he grow became the foolish Wang Kai. He thought that no matter what happen the three of them will stay unchanged. He thought that the feeling they shares won't faded.

He created this problem himself, he leave when he knew there are unfinished business between him and NiNi. He was too proud to loses, he thought that they will be back like normal if he let her calm down. He underestimates her and overestimates himself in this cold war between them.

He was so lonely, so homesick at Oxford, most importantly he missed her. But she never even calls, not even once on those years. She would avoid him whenever he came back. It hurt him badly that he became blind. He let people manipulate him.

Wang Kai knew about Song Yun from the first day at school. Song Yun face was calm and graceful, even her movement is very beautiful. It attracts people, but not him. He notice her because she can't speak English well, to be honest it was bad that student didn't understand what she was saying.

But Wang Kai is Wang Kai. As long as it didn't bother him, he would not involve himself. He doesn't want to be a hero saving damsel in distress. He only want to quietly study, build his business empire and go home as fast as he could so he could marry NiNi.

Later, Song Yun starts to appear more often, making many excuses to be friend him. He was no idiot; he knew her intention so he turn her down. Until she shamelessly sit beside him and tell him a joke.

"What do you call a cow in an earthquake? A milkshake!" she said cheerfully, unbothered the fact that he would likely ignore her. But he didn't.

When she crake that lame joke, he was bought back to the moment when NiNi just study English and found a website full of lame joke. She would cracks those lame jokes to everyone she met a whole day, making everybody laugh at her cheesiness.

"Brother Brother, what do you call a crying little sister?" she asked excitedly as he jump up and down. Wang Kai rolled his eyes, answering nonchalantly.

"Guan Xiao Ni?" He teasing her as he get a duck face from NiNi. She would ignore his tease and reveal the answer.

"Crisis!" then they would laugh together.

"How do you wash your clothes in the ocean? With tide!"

"What do you call it when a banana eats another banana? Canabananalism!"

"What did sushi A say to sushi B? Wasabi!"

"What did the baby corn say to the mamma corn? Where's popcorn?"

"What do you call a cow in an earthquake? A milkshake!"

He stupidly warmth up to Song Yun after that, he tricked himself to think that NiNi was here with him. But he can't. Song Yun is not Guan Xiao Ni. No one can be his Guan Xiao Ni.

But he has open up to Song Yun, so he let it be. They were never really official, but he let everyone think Song Yun was her girlfriend. It was somewhat beneficial to him. There are less random text on his phone.

Now he regret everything.

"F*ck!" he cursed, kicking the cold marble table in front of him, creating a big BANG voice. But he was alone there, he has no one.

He thought he would end this loneliness soon. Just one steps away from living a blissful life with NiNi.

He thought he had the confidence to say that he didn't do anything with Song Yun. His intuition said so. But he have no prove, he didn't even have any memories about that night. That cursed night that ruins his whole life.

Pull out the phone from his pocket, he call Ji Cun Xi.

"Rendezvous tonight, right now. Call other too."

With that, he fills his lonely heart with alcohols and the boys.
