Lu Zhishan was comatose for a whole day and woke up at nightfall of the second day . His whole body ached and the pain in his knee was intense . He stretched his hands and touched it . As expected, it had swollen into an enormous size . He gazed at the bamboo pattern on the bed curtain . People always used bamboo to refer to a home letter, announcing that all is well . Then Lu Zhishan suddenly recalled last year when he returned the capital city . The first sight that came into his eyes was also the bed curtain . Soon after that Princess Duan came in to help him wash and dress .

You risk your life to fight against the enemy of our country . He just sits idle and enjoys the fruits of others’ labour . Now he even makes such a plot to snare you . It is really irritating . ”

“They just think presenting money and beauties are much more effective and reliable than having a war to defend our country . They are not fearing for my failure on the battlefield but my achievement in the war . ” Lu Zhishan stirred the herbal soup in the bowl and sneered, “Now I have been beaten and lost my position as a lord . They would feel more relaxed . Now I’m not their impediment any more . ”

Du Heng couldn’t help feel pity and saying, “Marquess, you are not so weak now . I believe your leg will recover if you take good care of it . You are still young and strong enough . ”

Lu Zhishan took one sip of the soup and gave no more words .

Du Heng was afraid that his words would make Lu Zhishan sad . He immediately took out three title deeds, smiled and said, “Well, I have something else to report, my highness . I buy three manors in the regions south of the Yangtze River . It consists one thousand and three hundred acres of land . I want to use two of them to grow tea and use the other to plant crops . All these three manors were not desolate land . There were still many farmers living there . I suppose that we will get profit in the second half of next year . Please have a look, my highness . ”

Lu Zhishan turned to Du Heng and said, “You are really insightful and bright . You can do it in your way . If you don’t hide the news about the silver mine, we will have no money to buy manors .

Hearing his words Du Heng smiled and replied, “The condition of the court had already changed at that time . I would definitely think for you to prepare another way for the coming future . Thanks for your trust, My highness .  I didn’t expect that you could let me take charge of it before . ”
