Potion Maker Chapter 40: Startled by storage ring

Will woke up to the sound of tearing, it almost sounded like really tough leather stacked with several layers being torn at the same time. As he opened his eyes he could only laugh in his heart, the only reason he managed to survive was because of the reason the flood dragon was moving so sluggishly.

It had an ulcer in its stomach, a really bad one at that, it was completely through the lining of the stomach and coincidentally right in the area the heart was.

It was a breeze after figuring that out, besides the crushing pressure from the stomach and the acid dripping on his skin he only needed to punch a couple times and grab onto the heart after making a hole to it.

Although it was painful on his part, and pretty bloody, thinking about it afterwards the flood dragon's cause of defeat is pretty hilarious.

Imagine the reason you were defeated being an ulcer…

You would feel so embarrassed you would rise from the dead just to die again..

Groaning as he sat up, Will realized that besides some aching muscles he was completely unharmed, although his clothes were pretty much ruined..

Well, at least his pants were still intact.

Hearing a rustle coming from behind her, a slightly exhausted Cecily wiped some sweat from her forehead as she walked away from the partially skinned flood dragon and stood in front of Will.

"Finally, it's been two hours since you lost consciousness.. You better repay me for being kind enough to use precious medicine on you!"

"More precious then what I let you use before!"

"O okay, give me a break, I just woke up.."

Standing up and patting the dirt off of his pants, Will chuckled a little after he tried to brush off the bloodstains. He looked at Cecily as she pouted at him like how a spoiled rich daughter pouts when her father won't let her get her what she wants.

"Hahaha!"

"What are you laughing at!?"

"Nothing haha"

After guaranteeing that he'll pay her back, he turned to look at the partially skinned flood dragon as he felt an immense urge to collect ingredients come out of nowhere. He felt like a starving man who encountered food after a harsh month.

"I need it's blood, scales, eyes..."

As if she was his assistant, Will started listing off the things he wanted Cecily to collect without a second thought. Giving him a glare, she reluctantly went to collect the things he wanted when she realized that he stopped paying attention to her.

While she was at it she wrapped up the things she wanted.

An hour passed until Cecily finished collecting what Will wanted her to collect, her tired eyes giving him a piercing glare as if telling him to "try me".

"Sorry, instinct I guess?"

Awkwardly laughing, Will started to apologize when he suddenly froze with his mouth agape.

All the ingredients disappeared!

"What the hell happened!?"

Shocked, Will took a defensive stance as he started rapidly looking at the scattered trees in the surroundings looking for the expert that stole their stuff.

In this patch of land, there was an obviously startled young man, and an equally stupefied girl standing a few meters apart. One would think that either some illusion technique was cast on them, or they were both kicked in the head by a donkey when the were little.

Most would assume the latter..

"Hahaha!"

After looking at Will's startled behavior for a moment, Cecily couldn't help but laugh, she knew he most likely has never seen a storage ring before, but she still couldn't help but laugh at his lack of knowledge.

As he was trying to signal to Cecily to be quiet and look for danger, his eyes widened as his face flushed red.

As Cecily was laughing, she tapped the ring on her hand several times, her face looking like a ripe tomato.

Memories of novels from his old world flashed through his mind as he recalled that cultivators usually had storage rings, storage bags, storage bracelets etc..

Even though the novels can't be applied completely to this world, there are many things that the novels he has read can help him with..

"I can't believe it took so long for me to notice the ring, although I still wouldn't have guessed it was a storage ring, I could have figured it out when the items disappeared.. It could have been normal jewelry.."

"You can stop laughing now, we should rest, we have a lot of traveling to do"

Will glared at Cecily as she gradually stopped laughing, Cecily returned a brilliant smile causing Will to be unable to glare at her anymore.

"This girl, one can't hate her, but one also can't not hate her.."

"I heard you"
